Thank you for your interest in the Power Brigade Super Hero team, please fill out this form to the best of your ability. Should you require special equipment (Heat proof pencils, etc) in order to complete this form, it will be provided. The Power Brigade does not share this information with any other civilian source, but maybe required to share it with certain govt ones (at risk of losing our tax exempt status). Please be as honest as you can.

    Super Hero Name: The Bowman

    (Optional)Secret Idenity/Alternate Name:

    (Optional)Ethnic Group/Species:

    Place of Birth: Bay City

Question 1. How did you hear about the Power Brigade team?
    Hero Boards

Question 2. What do you feel you can offer (Both in Super heroic powers/gifts and your knowledges) to the Power Brigade team?

I am a keen shot with a bow, I have both Magical arrows and tech arrows. The Magical ones are your standard sharp items projected from a bow, I just never run out of them, the others make me an ideal "Agent-Buster". On top of that I have investigative, infiltration, and law enforcement experience.

Question 3. Why do you wish to join our team, and what do you hope for if you join?

It sounds silly but I am looking for companinship, my civilian friends don't know about, nor would they understand the work we do.

Question 4. Have you ever been on a super hero team before? If so, which one(s) and why are you no longer a member?

I currently work with the BCPD Extrodinary Crimes unit, both Tac and DoE

Question 5. Are you a supervillain, govt agent, law enforcement official, media person, or anyone else who is attempting to infilitrate the Power Brigade?

I am a Police Officer, but am not requesting to join for infiltration

Question 6. How often will you be availible to fight crime and save the world? What schedule would be best for you?

When I am needed, I will be there

Question 7: Do you have some disability, ailment, or other situation (Occasional Demonic possession, intense allergy to space rocks, etc) that our scientists, doctors, and mystics should take into account?

My brother was crippled in a drive by, he is knowledgable on many tech issues, and will most likely be around the headquarters alot.

Question 8. To what degree do you comply with the law? Are you registered?

    About 80%

Question 9. Will you be able to provide your own transporation to and from the Power Brigade HQ?

I can easily get to anywhere in the city

Question 10. What are your feelings on death and property damage?

Question 11. Are you willing to wear our team Logo?

    No

Question 12. How may we contact you should we be interested in having you join? (Phone, mystic mirror, large signal, etc)

    Cell Phone

Please include any additional notes about yourself you feel are relevant below:

Thank you for your interest in the Power Brigade. All aplications will be reviewed, if no response in 4-6 weeks, it is likely the team is currently filled.

EA Captain: Negative. We have authority here. Do not force us to engage your ship.
Delenn: Why not ? Only one human captain has survived a battle with a Minbari fleet. He is behind me, you are in front of me. If you value your lives be somewhere else.

Coming in late, I did change the dampeners to dampening collars, thus each one is custom to the villain in question, but allowing the same movement etc....(It is also what law enforcement uses to move said villains)

So this thread has brought up a lot of feelings for me, and more than a few thoughts that could be projections.

I have been around this system for a very long time.  I have made hundreds of characters, some originals, a lot of homages, and a a number of adaptations.  I have debated rules particulars about a variety of issues.

I am personally attracted to the system because of the rules of F/X or more specifically how f/x is not tied to the mechanic of an ability, so a blast could be fire or electricity or ice, etc...  I say these things to explain my Bias.

One argument that has been repeated is in regard to NCM, What Assualt called the Batman Fallacy.  This has always been one of the bigger ones, and it is founded on a couple misconceptions.

    1) NCM is the maximum a human (non augmented) character can have.  4th edition books (and later editions) made it VERY clear that legendary characters can go above it.  If Batman does not qualify as a legendary character...

    2) The characteristic is what it says on the tin.  This ties into what I said about f/x not being tied into a game mechanic.  This misconception makes it so that people try to force a worst build based on a concept.  In essence punish a player for playing Batman instead of Mutant batman...

    3) Points matter.  Two characters who spend similar points on similar abilities should be able to do similar stuff

Just as an example, I decide to run a campaign where everyone is based on a version of Superboy.
Superboy 1 is based on the original Clark Kent Superboy.  He buys his strength as a characteristic
Superboy 2 is based on the Reign of the Supermen Superboy.  Because of this mentality he NEEDS to buy Telekinesis with no range.  This of course costs him more endurance and 10 less strength for the same points, making him objectively worse character.  However for all practical purposes it is the same super strength.  This also fails point 3.

So back to Batman, Batman is a character with many skills way above the norm.  He is tougher, smarter, scarier, etc...than a normal human (based on what he DOES).  Even though we are told OFTEN that he is a normal man who has trained hard, he is also often called "The Bat God" and for good reason.
Now if we restrict the Batman player to making him under NCM, he will need to spend more points to meet the goals of the character concept.  This is unfair to the player.  You are at this point PUNISHING him for his concept.  IMO skill levels are really more for heroic characters, especially the more expensive ones...Some will say that it's fine because that is the "cost" of the concept, I say that is unfair.  So how do we make Batman so that he is as capable as a paranormal with powers based on being a "better human", simple, allow him to buy higher characteristics.

Now, what does this all illustrate.  The fact is that what we really need is to be "fair".  Characters should be a similar level, built with the same basic theory on design...

Just skimmed it, seems to go after the election tampering (Which is shady as shit, and defiantly something that should be tried in court).  Will read it when I have more time

My issue however stands, with the core idea that standards should be standards.  IF party A does X and gets consequence Z, then when Party B does X is should not get consequence Y.   The hatred people feel for him should not change the consequences.

My bringing the riots up was just an example of allowing the hatred people feel towards him modify their view of his actions.

However, having watched what he said, etc... He told people to do something constitutional (march and cheer on "Their people"), could a reasonable person see that it would lead to violence, debatable, but did he advocate for it, based on what he said, I think no.  If you can find where he told his followers to do anything outside of a constitutionally protected protest, please correct me.
Taking the BLM riots, they lasted longer, cost more in lives and property, and literally took over city blocks, while I respect your opinion that the scale could be worse, a fair argument can be made that the actual consequences were a lot worse for the BLM riots.  As for the rhetoric, we both know how EASY it would be to find BLM comments as terrible.

The Key thing to remember is that with a Mulltipower you have one power, EC you have one special effect

With an EC I can activate a Force Field, Fly, and Energy Blast at full effect the whole day long (Back in the day probably about 10 end a phase)

If I have a MP I have the pool and as I weaken my blast to raise my flight, my end stays the same

Example: So let's say I have 100 points for powers

    25 Light EC
    25 25/25 Force Field  (5)
    25 25" Flight               (5)
    25 10d6 EB                 (5)
    Total END                   15

    70  Light Manipulation MP
    10m 25/25 Force Field  (5)
    10m 25 25" Flight               (5)
    10m 25 10d6 EB                 (5)
Total END                             7 (As no more than 70 Active Points can be used)

Makes me wonder, does The Fox have a generation villain? He should.

Let's call him The Gargoyle. The first one was a master criminal who lucks in to a superweapon or super tech. He wields a sword (so he can fence with The Fox), a gun or two (quite normal ones), and a VVP which can only be changed in a lab (to explain the gadgets and weapons he uses in his crimes). He was active between around 1920s to 1948 or so. He was thought to have died many times, only to come back as a bad penny.

Gargoyle 2 is his son, who originally called himself "The Gargoyle's Ghost" (using a special belt which allows him to go through solid objects). Like the original Gargoyle, he also uses a sword and gadgets built by other people which he steals. He was active between 1950's to 1960's.

Gargoyle 3 is the son of Gargoyle 2, and he is basically more of a mastermind and master criminal as opposed to a gadget laden guy. He has a utility belt on equal par with The Fox. This one is the Fox's dark mirror. He was active between the late 70's to the 90's.

Gargoyle 4 is....someone. To the current Fox he is a bad name which keeps on coming up. He has yet to actually see him, and wonders if someone is just using his name.

Kind of how this all started.  I watched and wrote down each item used in Batman TAS & Justice League (By Batman) then stated them up.  All for 30 AP.  There is one power (Batgirl uses against Livewire) that has tormented me for years...

When I started to think of publishing it was when I created the Fox.  I liked the idea of the Phantom's legacy aspect, then the Zorro connection (Batman has a lot of him in there), and well here we are 6-7 years later....
