    Super Pope?

Re: Super Pope? in the last game I GMed, the team magician had for his disads "DNPC Father: Exorcist" his father had super powers, and fought demons and such for the church. needless to say he was quite disappointed when his son learned arcane magic as well as divine and decided to fight crime in general. MUCH worse, the son also adopted a public/secret ID much like zatanna of being a stage magician. So yes, in a supers world the church would have its own movers and shakers, and it probably wouldnt be the main man himself.
  4. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER dude we have got to write up this character sheet: DonnaVanno by day, super skate crime fighter, and Brittny Kowalksi by night, exotic singer is her secret ID
  5. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Egyptoid has been on the road following Brittney on her latest worldwide tour. Britney Kowalski. the "chanteuse di lounge" we met during Atlanta-Con she's not nearly as young or athletic as Miss Spears, but becomes quite fetching when properly oiled up.
  6. Re: Sweet Mystery Of Life...Your Favret Damsel In Distress Moments... Okay, long time ago I had my JLAla. campaign, and part of the set-up was like this: 17 years pre-campaign: Black Canary had been captured and severely abused by Green Goblin. She got rescued and GG got exemacuted. Nine months later she gives birth to a daughter, calls her Lila. She doesnt want this child and Reed Richards arranges for her care and education. Lila grows up with no overt powers, but is quite quite smart, strong, courageous, lovely, talented and brave. much moreso than other normals as befits her genetics and education. CAMPAIGN TIME Lila becomes like Rick Jones, she's got no powers, but can hang with the heroes and does, but not in a "groupie" way. Everybody loves her. So of course I as the GM have to kidnap this gem. Poof, she disappears without a trace. Last seen around the local med school wheres she's earning her 3rd degree before her eighteenth birthday. I mean there's no trace. The detectives can't find her, the super-senses can't, the team magician, nobody. Every skill, talent, power, or sense they try never bears fruit. Weeks go by. Months. Finally other disappearances around the college give them a clue. Security cameras have caught furtive motion around the time of other kidnappings. Now the hereos have more exps. and savvy and they scour the area. In the med school is the morgue. In the bac of the regular morgue is the super-morgue, where some dead mutants are studied. One example is the body of Captain Universe, which does not rot. Strange readings come from the head of Cpt.U. Finally they look inside his head with Clairsentience, but not until they magnify it do they find what they they seek. Inside his hollowed out medulla was a microscopic metropolis. Many of the people in the city were from the missing persons file, o rlook just like them. All of the noblewomen were stunning lookers. and they were identical in looks to the beauty of Lila. So they had found Lila, or had they? They saw hundreds of clones of her as they spied on the tiny city. They had to go in and solve the mystery, and rescue the original. Well the danger here is that the tiny metropolis had a huge army, with tanks and hovercraft and jumpjets and super-agents. Captain Universe's body is transfered to Stronghold. The heroes figured how to go micro-sized, and they prepare to assault the city. The general running stronghold, tells them "You got 24 hours, then I'm throwing this whole thing in the autoclave" They go in, and they quickly find the mastermind of this tiny city. BARON KARZA has escaped the prison he was in, and has rebuilt the start of a microverse inside Captain U's head. The heroes fight across the tiny city to the dark palace... Lila strongly appealed to Baron K, and she became the queen, and all the princesses of the micro-realm were grown in the clone-vats in her likeness. So the damsel in distress was eventually rescued, not once, but dozens of times!
  7. Re: The Most Unusual or Interesting Build You've Seen Here'show I GMed a girl who wanted to play a power absorber quite like Rogue of the X-Men: MIMIC by TOUCH POWER POOL =========================== 75 Variable Power Pool (60),only change in given circ,no choice how powers change, restricted type of powers,Limited Power (-1/2),Rule of "X" on Time/Amount(+1/2) POWER STEALING by TOUCH ============================== 144 6D6 Transfer,"Maximum to Fade Rate: 5 years",20 Max Increase, fade rate: per 5 minutes,vs SFX (all powers),Always On(-1/2), Limited Power(-1/2),No Conscious Control(-2),Limited Power(-1/2), Continuous(+1),Invisible Power Effects(+1/2),0 END Persistent (+1),Rule of "X" on Time/Amount (+1/2), No Range 0 POWERS ALWAYS ON ========================= |Physical Limitation,"powers 20 | always on - no intimacy",all | the time, greatly MIND SUSCEPTIBLE to VICTIM TOUCHED ============================== |Psychological Limitation, 25 | "Variable One",very common, total |Psychological Limitation, 25 | "Variable Two",very common, total So, when she touched a bad guy, her 60 point pool rearranged to simulate his 2-3 best powers, usually including his best Stat. And she'd Transfer 6d6 more power points of those same powers temporarily on top of that. And her 2 psych disads (call it a disad with var. Sfx) would emulate his two biggest problems. For example she touches "Electro-Bandit" and she'd get 20+2d6 points of E-Blast, and 20+2d6 points of END, and 20+2d6 points of Flight. Also her 2 psychs become like his "Greedy" and "Maniac" until reset. PLUS If she maintains the touch till her next segment, she gets 2d6 more points each of the 3 powers. The team magician learned how to conjured small harmless animals like puppies and rabbits. Why? After the fight was over, he'd make a bunny, and toss it to her: to reset her disads to "Herbivorous" and "Gentle" : )
  8. Re: The "The Invisibles Writeups " is really "The Incredibles Writeups" thanks so much for availabilizing the write-ups. Here's a Q for thought: Is Mr Incredible the strongest dude in that universe? (similar to how Supes is usually considered the strongest dude in DC)
  9. Re: Hooray for Newbies! why are you suddenly here? My gaming group isnt newbies to Champions at all. I've reffed HERO off-n-on for 20 years. My old buddy started us up in a Champions game recently and so I need to participate and learn 5ER. plus there's the incredibles movie. if that doesnt motivate you to run/play HERO then the pilot light has winked out.
  10. Re: Extra Extra: Is 5ER actually bullet proof okay so: 5ER came out of 5th Ed. 5th Ed. was built upon fourth edition. 4th revised champions 3rd, and C3 overcame C2, and before that who knows. It was the 80s man... My premise goes thusly: Since Champions became Hero sytem became 4th became 5ER, there's a logical progression of quantifiable changes here. If I take Hero 4th, buy off its limitations and trim down its disadvantages, I get 5th ed right ?!? and Shape up 5th Ed. with some XPs and new abilities, we have 5ER, yes? Does anyone have a character sheet for 5ER ?
