  1. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States the Revamp of Bagnell Catfish is up for review http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dzqpmkt_746gj63swm3 2 more sheets to go . . . . re: time consuming pix: that's the beauty of this whole project, so many people have put in quality stuff. It behooves me to A) finish it. also put in quality.
  2. Desolid Used for "Immunity to Electric Attacks"
  3. Re: Watchmen: A GM's tale...or why we set campaign limits this movie, plus recent things in my Champions games, is why Step 3 of my USA5O project is going back to the hard and fast "Rule of X" calcs for all those heroes....
  4. Re: Dumbest Moment Ever in your games I GMed a high powered convention game, and the party wizard had a large notebook of spells in his Var.Power Pool. something for very nearly every situation. plus, he had a magic bow and 36 magic arrows, for use on things with power defense. so let's recap: A) lots of magic for most things. back up killing attack for the magic resistant things. so what did the wizard do all night ? he hung back and shot arrows at EVERYTHING. he used 1 detect spell later on, out of combat, but the rest of the night: twang, twang, twang. the rest of the players and I as the GM tried to ask leading questions, and some players were rude, "perhaps some spells from the wizard?" but there he was, Master of Archery.
  5. Re: Campaigns bases off alternate sources. Neptune City
  6. Enforcer, I am Your Father Enforcer's Dad.
  7. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States like I say, most of them were quite easy, like Centennial from Colorado looks just like Superman, so a Super-Boy heroclick goes just nicely. The hardest ones were: Kentucky Thorobred: had to sculpt mane & tail Virginia Goddess: hot chick with roman helmet and spear: not a common miniature. Missouri Catfish, how do you make a heroic looking Kuo-Tua ? Alaska Wild-Catter, mish mash of various things. Lousiana Red Stick, had to customize the look. Nebraska Husker: had to make the weapon.... Anyways, when they come back from painting, I'll do "design notes". For example, Eco Ranger was hacked together from Ghost-Rider and Captain America pieces parts. Thanks for the compliments. I'll keep posting on the things. someday I'll run this properly at a convention. I still have to make the wings for NC K.Hawk and Utah Bee... Plus for some reason my painting guru balked and choked at the idea of painting Mount Rushmore in miniature, or the California Bear, or the State Seal of Indiana... so I'll be making some decals of the complicated items.
  8. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States Well I was mostly just showing them off... Who is more of the madman, the guy who worries about which one is which, or the madman who sits down to annotate them.... one picture, back row first, left to right: Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Vermont. Penn, Tex, Puerto, Maine. Wisc, Alab, Mich, W.Va. N.Mex, Illin, Montana, Missouri. Maryland, Cali, Ariz, Delaware. Colo, NYork, N.Dak, Mass. Idaho, Jersey, ???, ??? Virginia, ???, Okla. second picture, back row first, left to right: Flor, Wyom, Georgia. South Caro, Kansas, Alaska. N.Hamp, Utah, Rho.I. Nebraska, Twin from KC-Mo. Louisiana, Virgin Isles. Not pictured, cause at the painters: Oregon, Arkansas, Tenn, Miss, Wash.DC, So.Dak, etc. I wasnt gong to worry about them till they were painted. Okay. but cool enough.
  9. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States Oh yeah, I almost forgot you Log Man. CURSE YOU. CURSE YOU STRAIGHT TO SHEOL! all the other 49 Heroes were easy enough to convert, since they resemble some Marvel or DC character, and Heroclix are cheap these days. snip and glue and most of these could be done up right in 5 minutes. but not Kentucky. Log-Man had to get all artsy fartsy and make this furry monstrosity. To get the look right I had to sculpt the mohawk, and find a female speedster to begin with, and the hair and the tail. Crikey what a pain. But despite Log-man's "vision" I triumphed. the miniatures are in the hand of my paint master, soon to be revealed....
  10. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States the front bumper of the vehicle has protruded from the long tunnel. All 50 heroes now have pages. Some need serious polishing, but they're all there. so step 2 of the 5 step process is done (enough). {cracks open second bottle of cheap champagne} ==================================================== on the side project, I finished all the mods and sculpts for the 5O Heroes Miniatures see attached.
  11. Re: Ringworld, Stargate and Apocalypse... oh my! Larry Niven was at SheVaCon and they did this in his honor: it rotated with a small motor. picture doesnt do it justice there Sun was orange spun sugar.
  12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... my group's been on hiatus since x-mas, but we started back this week. ohmigosh-gray-vee this is going to be radioactive. bad history: I've been DMing thursday nights for 5 of the last seven years:mad: good news: a player has stepped up to be DM. bad news: he's running D2O. good news: his setting is Middle Earth. bad news: the setting is 50 years before The Hobbit good news: the PC party will be working for a wizard:smoke: bad news: It's Saruman the White. No quote quotes this week. but I anticipate a lot of radiation and therapy in the coming weeks. my buddies character is a Prince of Gondor, a warrior. my character is a barbarian half-elf ranger, from the far-north. I showed the guy where LINK it was way up in the Grey Mountains. {see the dot in the map north of the Forest River} my buddy said "Good Gosh you're from all the way up there?!? why !?!" I asked him which part of BAR-BARIAN don't you get, and told him he should be happy, I'll make him look so posh and debonair.
  13. Re: Senses in a multipower--legal build? I often allow senses into a multi-power, depends a lot on the SFX of the other powers. plus, when I do so, I always enforce other limitation on the senses, such as Costs END, slot lockout, extra time, or gestures. a sense slot should never be just a "half-phase, up with persicope" quickie, IMHO.
  14. Re: Susano vs Marvel characters Egyptoid: Our boy Susano wipes the floor with all but 4,6 and 12. Enforcer84: Why ? Egyptoid: because they're X-People, and they rule.
  15. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine you expect us to believe that nephew story ? See, it's stuff like that which proves why you should never drink and post, much less make heroes...

  20. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States Captain Buckeye rough draft for the Ohio entry... yes he's a batman clone, but how else do you craft a superbly trained "normal" man ?

  25. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States re: Beaverman I agree in principle with everything you said. However, Beaver-man and Beaver-Woman were invented by Enforcer84, and I have a strong feeling that he may not have been in a serious character development mood when he made them. He may have been making a parody. I'm inlcuding them because I like Enforcer, and because they are great Golden Age ideas, that just don't really work in the modern age. re: Georgia Empire Well the costume was done by Hermit, and I don't think its that bad, plus way back in the dark ages of this thread (like 5 months ago) we had a period of open costume/character design, and then a few weeks later I called the design period done. Anyways, since I'm so far along on some of these, I'd be loathe to make any major changes. Snake? I don't see it. As a shape-shifter he'd pick the best look. Like Bumble-Bee in Transformers; maybe Empire should have some disguise skill...
