  1. Re: Why do the Champions waste so much time being "good citizens?" This is pretty much the reason I hated Marvel's Civil War and the whole SHRA thing: the complete 180-ing of fiats and tropes. Or, as a friend put it: "A bad guy blew up & killed a few hundred people in a town in Connecticut. In a world where numerous cities -- including Middletown, AZ (5,000 killed by the Leader) and Washington, DC (millions killed by Kang) -- have been destroyed & their populace killed by super humans, this was evidently a catalytic event. Definitely not the actions of a government afraid of powerful beings beyond their control. And, even though the Pro-Reg side acquired lots of new powers to do things they've always wanted to do, it's not a power grab."
  2. Re: Why do the Champions waste so much time being "good citizens?" By that view, neither do most comic book superheroes....
  3. Re: Ben 10: Alien Force He's now D'Void, Master of the Null Void Guardians (his ability to control animals works on them, too). Looks much, much buffer (and his skin's no longer light green, and his posture & teeth are much improved), and found that proximity to a certain rare ore found in the NV grants him enhanced strength and invulnerability. He was also using the ore to power a big "drill" that would tear a hole from the NV to Earth, and invade/conquer with an army of NV Guardians.
  4. Re: What happened to the M&M to HERO thread? I've added my own notes on converting from HERO 5E to M&M 2E to that other thread. I shouldn't think it would be too hard to flip it around and use it to convert M&M 2E to HERO 5E.
  5. Re: Ben 10: Alien Force Dr. Animo got a rather nice upgrade. And Gwyn can now open portals to the Null Void.

  7. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Happy Life Day!
  8. Re: [Mythos Supers] Lars Drogen wasn't a very complicated guy. He put in decent hours, didn't goof off too much at work (at a secret government facility), and spent his off-hours watching a mix of sci-fi and sword-and-sandal flicks. One day, while helping to move some boxes for an attractive techie, a vat inexplicably exploded and showered him in molten alloys. Amazingly, he did not die, but rather the metal bonded with him on a cellular level and turned him into a man of living metal! The metal had been an experimental alloy containing materials from one of the C-Sites (possibly even R'lyeh itself), one that was amazingly strong yet lightweight, and seemed to actually emit some form of energy. Scientists theorize that this weird energy -- along with the extreme trauma of being so radically changed -- are what led to Drogen's shift in personality (and shaped in large part by his entertainment habits), for he now believes himself to be an alien gladiator from a far-off world named Drogen Lar.
  9. Re: Have you ever built a powered armor character... Just remembered a perfect example of the "Powered Powered Armor Guy" from the comics themselves: Ezekiel Stane (son of Obadiah Stane). He "upgraded his hyptohalamus" so he "reduced the caloric energy consumption of his body from 70% to 9%". He can unleash this "excess energy" as blasts from his hands. As a result of other biological upgrades, he has a potent healing factor (survived a 44-story drop). Downside is that his body gets so hot the heat "melts his flesh off," so he wears a suit of armor to better distribute the heat and keep himself cool. Speaking of, Mr. Freeze himself could be a candidate for this: he has some (relatively minor) powers of his own, an immunity to cold, but without his armor he'd die of overheating in anything above freezing temperatures.
  10. Re: Have you ever built a powered armor character... I've made chars with some very basic energy projecting powers (one had electricity, one had fire, one had sonic/vibration), who wore suits of armor that granted them finer control over their abilities. Sorta like Cyclops with his visor.
  11. Re: [Mythos Supers] That's awesome.
  12. Re: Looking for two (horribly abusive) builds I don't know, I didn't design this guy!
  13. Re: Looking for two (horribly abusive) builds No, each of this guy's rings were different.
  14. Re: Looking for two (horribly abusive) builds *bump* Anyone else know of the Wearer of 16 Rings of Power (two on each finger, except the thumb, which isn't a finger) build ?
  15. Re: Powers from the Gods... While that is indeed nifty, I would imagine a Lovecraftian Lantern's Oath would be far less... intelligible. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

  17. Re: Abbot and Costello Meet Doctor Destroyer Now I've an image of Telios & Grond doing the "Puttin' on the Ritz" bit from Young Frankenstein
  18. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Flclgattaca (Hrm, that should be in all-caps, like FLCL and GATTACA....)
  19. Re: Abbot and Costello Meet Doctor Destroyer And after this, we would of course need a Jack Benny special, wherein his atonal violin playing causes Grond to rampage.
  20. Re: Abbot and Costello Meet Doctor Destroyer *pictures Takofanes peeling back the faces of Larry, Moe and Curly to get a good look at the numbskulls*
