  1. Re: Synonyms for Superheroes One version of my main RPG character, Dr. Archeville, wrote about this in a journal entry. (This version of the good mad doctor believed -- in Champions Universe terms -- that his Enhanced INT was a result of a subtle mutation, closer to the kind which gives psionic abilities rather than 'mutant' ones, yet fundamentally different. His 'proof' of this was that he never set off any 'Detect Mutant' sensors. The real reason he never set them off: his Enhanced INT was magical, a blessing/curse tied to his bloodline several generations ago by Qlippothic agents.)

  6. Re: The Book Of The Destroyer So the folks who get plastic surgery to look like Dr. Destroyer (The Cult of the Destroyer, pg.194) -- is it to look like him as he was in 1945 (last confirmed photo), as of 1968 (date of mot recent photo claimed to be of him), or as he is now (i.e., erasing their facial features, removing all hair, and getting forehead implants so their head looks like Destroyer's faceless mask/helmet)?

  9. Re: Arcane Adversaries I also miss Brother Bone. And Archimago, though I do see why he was left out (the "campaign timeline" has advanced and he's already... moved on). But I've got my own copy of Creatures of the Night: Horror Enemies, so I can always convert 'em. And everything else in the book -- especially the Sylvestris, the Vandaleurs, and Doctor Teneber -- is full of win

  18. Re: Skrull vs. Avengers I'd like to see the Super-Skrull assigned to the Great Lakes Avengers/Lightning Rods/Great Lakes Initiative. Especially if, in mimicking Deadpool (who at least was a member at one time), he got stuck in that form. Also, as cool as Liaden's idea is -- and it is! -- I think it's been said the (Deviant) Skrulls killed all the other (non-Deviant) Skrulls ages ago. But, it's not like Quesada & Co. are above ignoring continuity for storytelling, so maybe....
  19. Re: The "True" Origin of Mechanon Mechanon is the 'son' of one of the more (in)famous cyberkinetics (Cybermind, Technyik, Teknique) -- or some new cyberkinetic -- though neither side knows it. Not long after their powers first manifested, and after a particularly bad day, all the dark parts of their psyche lashed out to the nearest computer system while they slept and created a proto-Mechanon. This entity soon traveled through the computer networks and took over some factory to create a body for itself. Mechanon could be just a grossly exaggerated manifestation of someone's road rage!

  21. Re: Make a Green Lantern Oath In foulest day, in sweetest night, beware the serpents coiled so tight. Let those who try to stop our might, burn like his power... Great Set's might! - Wearers of the Black Ring And now that Marvel's Gamma Mutants are getting to be as colorful as DC's Lanterns (what with Red Hulks and Blue Abominations).... In greenest day, in greyest night, No one can beat me in a fight Let those who come within my sight, Beware my Gamma-powered might! or No punch can break, no blade can slash, Yet my fists shall surely trash, Let those who would against me thrash, Beware my power... HULK SMASH AND BASH!
