  1. Re: The Brown Note: Not as funny as you think. Even used in combat or torture, the Brown Note is still just as funny as I thought. A mean, a sound that makes people crap their pants? Priceless! J
  2. Re: Greatest Post-Apoc Film of All Time Long time no see, heroes. I'm finally back to the boards and I figured this was the topic for me - especially since no one has yet mentioned "World Gone Wild"! I mean, come on! Bruce Dern as a quasi-Merlin-type, Adam Ant as the Scientologist badguy... this is f*ck*ng epic, man! And some of the best/worst lines of all time: George: "Oh, my God, they cut yer [censored] off!" Hank: "Kill me!" I can watch this show over and over again (and I do, when I need inspiration) and never get tired of it. Ahhh, the cheese... It's so gouda, I camembert it. J
  3. Re: Who are the greatest (?) super villains? Have any of the members of Cobra been mentioned yet? G.I. Joe has always had a place in my heart. Sir Pentor, Destro, Cobra Commander, that hot chicky with the black hair, and especially Storm Shadow (the original badass ninja-in-white). For their logo alone they oughta be in the Honourable Mention catagory. j
  4. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game I've been meaning to mention that I reactivated my CoH account last month. If any of you folks are on Guardian Server, send Joey Flame a tell. Hasta. j
  5. Re: God Package... Sweet stuff, Enforcer! Hope you don't mind if I hijack your brain for my own games. Since your at it any way, any plans to detail the other pantheons? j
  6. Re: Power Build: Super Archery Oh! Brain fart! What if I just apply the Autofire, 3 Shots to the Multipower? Would that work to use one of each different type of arrow, or would it require that he only ever use one type of arrow three times in a row? I gotta read up on Elemental Controls... that seems to be the easiest way to do this. j
  7. Re: Power Build: Super Archery What Oddhat said. I tried that approach at first and it seemed perfect, but... yeah... what Oddhat said. Okay, Compound Power in an MP Slot... please elaborate on this one. Yeah, I'm hoping that he can fire different types of arrows at the same time or the same type, depending on the situation. I already built Cyclops as a power-blaster, I want Hawkeye to be the tricky-blaster. Appreciate the input so far, guys; keep it coming. j
  8. Evening, Heroes. I'm trying to build a few characters from the Marvel and DC Universes, and I've run into a bit of a snag. Bear with me, I'm still pretty inexperienced with the system. I want to keep the characters standard price (200 + 150 disads), so I suppose I'm looking for the power-level I remember from like the early 90s (****, I think I'm older than April O'Neill by now!). Basically I'm doing this so that if I ever get my friends into the game they'll have some iconic pre-gens to choose from, but also so that I have some established benchmarks to work with - think you could whoop Daredevil, try it and see. Alright, so on the chopping block is our old pal Hawkeye. I picked up Gadgets and Gear and I totally dig the Super Bow and Arrows on pg. 37, but it gets pretty expensive if you want any variety of arrows. Of course, I could put the arrows into a Multipower, but then he couldn't do the classic "draw 3 arrows at a time" move that Hawkeye loves so much. Should I get like an Autofire Naked Adder for his Archery or something? Make several Multipower Pools and just call them different quivers? I can't wrap my mind around VPPs until I actually see one in action, so I want to avoid that for now. I know I'm overlooking something obvious, so I figured someone up here in the Watchtower could help a Hero out. Thanks, folks. j
  9. Hi again, Heroes. So, I'm looking over a few of these character I made, trying to fine tune them a bit like ya would. In the never-ending quest for just one more point, I realized I haven't allowed for any Everyman Skills on any of my characters. So my question to you folks is this: what skills belong as Everyman Skills in a Superhero Campaign set in an essentially mainstream comicbook universe? Any help you guys could offer would be most... umm... helpful... And thanks much. j
  10. Afternoon Heroes. I'm trying to make up some pre-gen characters for a game I'm hoping to run, and I figured it would be easier to get my friends into the system if I gave them characters they knew; so I'm doing up Captain America, Wolverine, Spider Man and maybe a few more, I haven't decided. Anywho, I want to give my players really *****in' character sheets with cool character pics on 'em, but I can't find any good sources. Any ideas? Cheers. j
  11. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Ennio Morricone, "Adios to Cheyenne". Ah, mood music... j
  12. Re: If you should need a map of a regular house Dude, thanks much for the site. Have some rep, on me. j
  13. Re: Post-Apocolyptic Hero Setting For my money, Wasteland Hero is the ultimate Post-Apocalypse setting; with Fallout and The Road Warrior as the cheif sources of inspiration. Oh yeah... the end of the world is sweet... j
  14. Re: Power Build: Mixed Metamorph I don't think I'll ever come up with a character that works as good as it could, and I'd be lucky to make one that just plain works. I have no actual game experience with this system, I just keep putting characters together - and lemme tell ya, with the amount of time I spent on this werewolf dude I'm not changing anything until I'm sitting at a table with you lot. Like I said, the character works, but I know he could be better - I just don't know how without totally rebuilding him, and I dunno if thats worth it just yet. My consolation prize is knowing that I have a near infinite source of assistance building any power I can think of; now I just need flight time to develop a a better feel for the system. Anyways, thanks much for your help, and stay tuned for my next Build question... looks like it might turn into a series. j
  15. Re: Power Build: Mixed Metamorph I ended up going with Shapeshifting: Human, Wolfman, Wolf, Intermediate Forms then taking all his powers with the Only in Appropriate Forms (-1/4) Limitation (props WhammeWhamme). That kind of left some holes in the guys Attributes, but I juggled around some points and got that all up to okay levels. All in all, I think its a good build. Now my next chore will be finding someone to 1) approve him, then 2) GM him. But in the meantime, he looks just great to me. Man, there are like no Heros in this town. j
