  1. Re: THE COURT OF DREAMS: ANIME MAGIC GIRLS for CHampions Prehaps if you pick a site to focus on, you can get more players, instead of dividing your time between sites. Anyways, good luck on your webpage.
  2. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Third in the group is Hack R, the young hacker/computer expert of the group. A nerd at heart, he uses his computer skills in minor acts of rebelion. It was he who rewiered that rusty old Tuttle armor for Red E, and reprogramed it into the bairly functioning platform it is today.
  3. Re: Ideal: Basic Villiancy True. But there are two ways I can do that. 1) Incorprate it into each description (Background/History, Quote, Personality/Modivation, Powers/Tactics, Advancing The Charater (using the 6ed to improve or modifing the charater), Campain Use, Incorprating The Charater Into The CU, Costume/Apperances). That leaves a lot of sections to go through (I can always fold Campain Use and Incorprating The Charater Into The CU into one section). Or: 2) Save the Incorprating The Charaters Into The CU as an apendex section near the end of the book. Which way do you think is better?
  4. Re: Enerjutsu As the original creater of "Energy Blaster Combat Arts" (from a Digital Hero artical), I would not alow using the AoE attack with that Enerjutsu manuver. You need cairful aim in targeting, so triping as an area is not alowed. Targets can still be knocked back, thoe. Note: I also woulden't alowe it with an Blast with the limitation "No Knockback", in that thay can try the attack (and it can hit normaly), but it will never cause the target to fall. Remember, a limitation which can be countered by the charater in some way is not a limitation at all.
  5. Re: Weapon Familiarity and Futuristic Weapons in a Modern Setting Thanks for the shout out, Mister E.
  6. Re: Weapon Familiarity and Futuristic Weapons in a Modern Setting So true. That is why some supers have WF as a 'background' skill. Thay do not carry the weapion on them, but can shure use it if thay come across it.
  7. Re: Ideal: Basic Villiancy
  8. Re: Ideal: Basic Villiancy err...longer, not lonber.
  9. Re: Ideal: Basic Villiancy This is one thing about DOJ no lonber owning Champions I do not quite like. Long time ago, a new writer could get a foothold writing an official Enimies book. Now days, you have go generic and third party, or not at all.
  10. I have an ideal for a supliment for a third party publisher (BlackWyrme Games? Silverback Press?). And this, lots of questions before I start. The Project: An 'enimies' book where all the villians are writen up using mostly the Hero System Basic Rulebook (with some minor extras from the Hero System Martial Arts, Advance Player's Guide, and Advance Player's Guide 2). Also included in each writeup is a section on 'advancing' the charater (by using the full 6ed rules). 1) Which third party does eveyone think would be a good match for the project? 2) How many villians would be 'just right' for a third party 'enimies' book? How many villians do you think I should put aside in case of a rejection or two? 3) Should I include notes on incorperating the charaters in the Champions Universe, or asume that nobody is going to use them in the Champions Universe?
  11. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Did I break this topic? Or did the villian team being 'unthinkable because we had a long weekend' break the topic?
  12. Re: Background Story Rewards Othoe my GMing skills are rather limited, I am all for giving bonuses for helping the GM out. The villians get bonuses all the time (I bet you can count the number of villians in the VV series who do not have a Villian Bonus on one hand, two at the most). So, why not provide a bonus to players also. In fact, I am going to list [Anyting] Bonus in the Hero System Charater Creation Cheet Sheat I am writing up. My guidlines are: 1) Background, betwen 1-10 points, depending on how detailed it is, and exactly how much the player needs. 2) Services, a flat rate defined by the GM for the service rendered by the player (not charater). Examples are the group artest or group webmaster. 3) I once got a 'conversion bonus' given by my GM when we moved from Marvel Super Heros (TSR version) to Champions 4th edition (the BBB). I do not remember how much, buy it might of been 10 points. Hope this helps.
  13. Re: Hero System Charater Creation Cheet Sheet...Would You Like One? Update: Both Charater Points section and Chariteristics have been done in Word. Next up are skills.
  14. Re: How have you used "The Monster?" I like the ideal that The Monster has always existed as a colective figment of the fear of the unknown by the local sentiant life forms of the planet. That way, the only way to truly kill him is to destroy eveyone on the planet, and that his powers can morph depending on what frightens the colective sentience at that time.
  15. Re: Gender Changing and "Instant Change" Cosmetic Transformation. I just got a semi-scary thought. Imagion an alien race who conqured all dieses through DNA manipulation. Thay are so advance that thay can change genders much in the same way thay change clothing (well, not quite the same, but...). Imagion what thee views on sexuality and sexual morality might evolve into. In fact, we might of runed into such a race in fiction before..."The Rocky Horror (Picture) Show".
  16. Re: Gender Changing and "Instant Change" Cosmetic Transformation. Humm...I just realised that, for a rair superpower, gender changers are more comen as boy to girl than girl to boy. Yes, I forgot Mighty Man. Add 'him' to the list. And I guess we can add the two main charaters of the manga/anime Maze. Cousands of the same age who kinda 'join bodys' when sent to another dimention. Girl-Maze exists during the day, Boy-Maze at night.
  17. Re: Gender Changing and "Instant Change" Cosmetic Transformation. OK. My list of gender changers. Ranma Saotome (Acidental Change, all the time poster person). Berg Kates (from Gatchaman). Change is from time, till he is able to do it at will near the end of the original series. Fubika (from manga Fubika Change). A 'mutant' who's entier famalybdo this. Cloud (Marvel's Defenders). In reality a sentient cosmic gas cloud. The Sailor Starlights. The original gender changing magical girls.
  18. Re: Gender Changing and "Instant Change" Cosmetic Transformation. That, for the main part, is true. But for the Ranma example, there is nothing realy difrent betwen male-type and female-type Ranma to warent a special 'power' to define them. Shure, female-type can carry a child inside her for 9 moungths, but beyond that, no special powers (and his/her creator, Rumiko Takahasi, refuses to think about, and states that you shoulden't think about it eather). Physicaly, female-type looks like she could be Ranma's twin sister. So, unless your GM is a real stickler for the rules, you don't need Shapeshift for that example, nor OIAID (as Ranma male-type has nothing he can't do martily that his female-type body can't di martily).
  19. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Using homemade equipment, the vandel and grafite artest known as Red E strives to leave his tag in hard to reach places where nobody has ever left a tag before. And his tag? The letter "E" in red spraypaint, of course. Red E, besides his homemade equipment has salvaged a wrecked Turtle armor suit, and sometimes employes it in situations where bicks and bords will not do. (So far, he only got it to move and filled what was once a weapion slot with a spray paint dispencer...he is still flumered with the other systems, which most of them are beyond repair anyways).
  20. Re: Gender Changing and "Instant Change" Cosmetic Transformation. Thank you for your words. Yes, it can be a "special effect" for OIAID (with the "instant change" Cosmetic Transformation being the catalist for it). Chalk it up for a 'free power'. Of course, Ranma is a whole nother kettle of fish, but he is covered under Acidental Change.
  21. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! "Aciente spirits of no-goodness, transform this corpse-like form to Harte-re The Never-Living!"
  22. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Can someone rep Christoper for me. Great ideal, fusing magic and tech in that way.
  23. Re: building 6th edition power suits Let us review all the ways Power Armor can be built in the 6ed. (This, by the way, is why I love the Hero System. There is no one right and corect way to do things or buy things in Hero.) 1) The most common way, Focus (Usaly OIF, sometimes Unbreakable also). 2) Only In Alternative Idenity (OIAID). Usaly also with Physical Manification and/or Focus. 3) Physical Manification. Which is usaly defined as "OIF Focus Which Can't Be Removed, Except By The Will Of The User, But Can Be Broken". 4) Special Manifestation Of Effects (Example: Doctor Destroyer). 5) In a Heroic Campain, thay can be payed for with points, especaly if such things are not unusual in the campain. 6) As a Vehical. 7) As a Multiform. (Special Effect: I call my armor out from it's exterdimentinal storage area, and it forms around my body). I'm shure there are many more ways than this. And all of them are 'official'.
  24. I'm trying to find where that rule is writen up in 6e1 and the HSBR, but I haven't found refences to it. Nor is it mentioned in the index of 6e1 (which also coveres 6e2). Is this writen up somewhere in 6e, or am I working through past information which is no longer corect?
  25. I have in the Champions section a write-up of my gender changing magical girl Lady Heart. I used Cosmetic Transformation for the clothing to superoutfit thing, and a linked Cosmetic Transformation for the boy-to-girl thing. Someone told me this is not alowed in the rules, and I think he is corect. But, if I use Shape Shift, it can be dispelled or drained, which dosen't seem quite right for a Sailor Moon homage. Any ideals?
