  1. Print on demand copy of Victorian Hero arrived this morning, so I've been flicking through on my teabreak. Looks good so far, no printing errors I've noticed and the physical quality is higher than I was expecting. Nice large print, too.
  2. I do love a good bit of overwrought fictional drama 😁 As for Victorian Hero, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. My favourite Hero book since Western Hero, I'd say.
  3. There are always mistakes. I used to be a newspaper editor, so I'm very familiar with the concept and responsible for more than a few. This particular introduced error just struck me as amusing, that's all.
  4. Couldn't resist for long, especially since I'd seen part of the book when I was a Hero Patreon subscriber. It's looking very good so far, although I have a sneaking suspicion that when the name was changed from Gaslight to Victorian Hero someone might have rather carelessly run a find and replace through the text…
  5. Has anyone statted Sister Bertrille for Champions?
  6. I find it hard to believe that after eight months it's recognisably a tomato.
  7. Time to ketchup on the latest from space:
  8. Al meal planner app suggests recipe that would create chlorine gas
  9. Thanks for taking the time to recover / set up your account and post this, Bunch. Much appreciated.
  10. Ah, sorry, I didn't realise that was a requirement. I've asked the OP at the RPGpub whether they're willing to make it available over here.
  11. Has this been posted before? Playtest documents found in Champions box.
  12. Where there's life? “We now really have found that Enceladus’s subsurface ocean is the most habitable place in the solar system, at least as far as we know..."
  13. This doesn't seem to be happening for most items I've clicked on, but Heroes in a Hurry Print & PDF is still showing as Free for me (until added to the cart, of course).
  14. You're thinking of Danger International, I believe. The cover of Justice, Inc. was by Brian K. Hamilton.
  15. It's only cosplay if you're not actually a superhero.
  16. If this doesn't spark an idea for an amazing superhero campaign then nothing will: (Seen on Mastodon, original source not known)
  17. A friend popped over at the weekend and played me a song she was working on for her ukulele group. Despite the fact that, I discovered later, it was a huge viral hit a decade ago, has spin-off video games and began as a major safety campaign for a train company, I'd never heard it before. Now I've bought the single, been learning the ukulele chords and can't get the blasted thing out of my head. Dumb Ways to Die on YouTube.
  18. No, I don't believe it does. Essentially it describes how the book involves selecting multiple modules—around half a dozen for a 400 point character—and equipment bundles, then goes into some examples. At a brief glance I can't see a mention of random characters.
  19. Obviously not a free peek, but the PDF was released in sections through the Hero Patreon. I've been laid low by covid and a post-covid lung infection, so although I have the files I've yet to even start reading them, I'm afraid. Glancing at it now, there are indeed nine sample characters at the end of the book. The format is various modules you assemble to make a character. I'll put a screenshot of the ToC here, which of course I'll remove if it's not acceptable to do so:
  20. The final episode of Darren's podcast Explain This, Comics Guys!! has been released.
  21. I could claim an encyclopaedic knowledge of Champions material across popular publications of yesteryear… but in fact I looked it up in this index. 😁
  22. It's in Dragon number 100, August 1985, in an article called CHAMPIONS™ Plus! New powers for CHAMPIONS™ heroes by Steven Maurer:
  23. Apparently RPG designer Ken Hite has been shot in the leg: EDIT: This was posted on Twitter and linked on the ENWorld forum where I saw it. I don't have any other information.
