There are always mistakes. I used to be a newspaper editor, so I'm very familiar with the concept and responsible for more than a few. This particular introduced error just struck me as amusing, that's all.

Couldn't resist for long, especially since I'd seen part of the book when I was a Hero Patreon subscriber. It's looking very good so far, although I have a sneaking suspicion that when the name was changed from Gaslight to Victorian Hero someone might have rather carelessly run a find and replace through the text…

But is it still edible?
I find it hard to believe that after eight months it's recognisably a tomato.

Thanks for taking the time to recover / set up your account and post this, Bunch. Much appreciated.

Loubet did some other stuff for Champions, but his most significant contribution os the cover of Justice, Inc.
You're thinking of Danger International, I believe. The cover of Justice, Inc. was by Brian K. Hamilton.

I feel this should be in the Cosplay thread...
It's only cosplay if you're not actually a superhero.

If this doesn't spark an idea for an amazing superhero campaign then nothing will:

A friend popped over at the weekend and played me a song she was working on for her ukulele group. Despite the fact that, I discovered later, it was a huge viral hit a decade ago, has spin-off video games and began as a major safety campaign for a train company, I'd never heard it before. Now I've bought the single, been learning the ukulele chords and can't get the blasted thing out of my head.

BigJackBrass does the "How to use this book section have note on doing random chargen?
No, I don't believe it does. Essentially it describes how the book involves selecting multiple modules—around half a dozen for a 400 point character—and equipment bundles, then goes into some examples. At a brief glance I can't see a mention of random characters.

All I've seen is those three examples. I honestly wish I could say more or point you where to go outside the Facebook group.
Obviously not a free peek, but the PDF was released in sections through the Hero Patreon. I've been laid low by covid and a post-covid lung infection, so although I have the files I've yet to even start reading them, I'm afraid.
Glancing at it now, there are indeed nine sample characters at the end of the book. The format is various modules you assemble to make a character. I'll put a screenshot of the ToC here, which of course I'll remove if it's not acceptable to do so:

I should have thought of issue 100. If I am not mistaken, that was onw of only two "powers for Champions" articlws Dragon ever published.
I could claim an encyclopaedic knowledge of Champions material across popular publications of yesteryear… but in fact I looked it up in this index. 😁

Have you seen Ken Hite's Adventures into Darkness? It's a very nicely done example of creating a fictional comicbook reality along with adapting and creating Golden Age characters, in this case using the conceit that H.P. Lovecraft didn't die so young and went on to work in comics.

Print on demand copy of Victorian Hero arrived this morning, so I've been flicking through on my teabreak. Looks good so far, no printing errors I've noticed and the physical quality is higher than I was expecting. Nice large print, too.
