  1. Version PDF

    190 downloads

Years ago I was inspired by an old game called Psi World (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/897/Psi-World?it=1) to try to convert it to Hero System (5th edition) using some of the optional rules from the Ultimate Mentalist book and customized Hero Designer character template and export format which are in the Hero Games Downloads site in the Hero Designer areas. This PDF is the original campaign description as it appeared on Hero Central along with a couple of story threads. Unfortunately I did not get far with the game once we began play due to some real life that I had to deal with instead.

  9. Version Hero 5th revised Templat

Mentalist Campaign -- EDIT HERO System Fifth Edition Genre: Dark Champions {Description is taken from my post on the Hero Games forum: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53119 } Okay, I have something that mostly almost sort of works (attached .hdt). The template has two additional custom characteristics (MD for Mental Defense and MSPD for Mental Speed) and figures them both from ego, and ego costs 3 per level, and buying the Mental Defense power does automatically add to the new, custom, MD characteristic. Is it possible to: (1) Get MSPD (Custom2) to only round up when ego is at an increment of 10? Currently it rounds to the next higher MSPD as soon as ego hits halfway to the next increment of 10 (like getting mental speed 3 for buying your ego to 15). (2) Get Mental Defense in 'Powers' to stop offering to let me buy multiple 'quantities' of the power as well as higher levels of it? (3) Get the 'rolls' not to show for the custom characteristics. (4) Get a display on MSPD (mental speed) like the SPD one? Showing phases? (5) Okay, the export template was easier then I thought it would be; must mean I really hosed it! http://www.herogames.com/forums/index.php?/files/download/42-mentalist-campaign/

HTML - Hero 3-Column Hero Shadowpunk -- EDIT HERO System Fifth Edition Type: Single Character File Extensions: HTML, HTM This is the classic 3-column style used in 4th Edition with custom characterisitics as described in 'Shadowpunk' -- a conversion for Wizkids' (formerly FASA) Shadowrun RPG, and one of the most comprehensive conversion write-ups ever. 151 pages! Created by Damon_Dusk over at the Hero forums, it is presented for you in chapters for easy download, or as one big optimized PDF file (plus the PDF charts). Download, enjoy, and make sure you pass on kudos to Damon_Dusk.' Orklord did a template for Damon_Dusk's conversion, and I modded Derik Hiemforth's export format to include the three custom characteristics. It has the Hero System logo, includes the Hit Location chart, and does not have a space for a character picture. The "hero5.jpg" file should be placed in the same location as the character is being exported to. This export template creates output in HTML format. This format -- although easy-to-use -- does not allow strict control over margins, fonts, etc. When you view the exported file, a great deal of how it looks will be controlled by how your browser's preferences are set. So for example, if you find that the entire sheet doesn't fit on a printed page, try changing the margins in your browser's print setup. If the text size appears too small or too large for you -- on screen or when printed -- try adjusting your font sizes in your browser preferences, and so on. The options set within this template itself are designed to try and provide good output on most systems, but -- since every configuration is a little different from every other -- you may need to tweak the settings on your end to get a result you're happy with. 16. Question about when DCV or OCV modifiers change, for example in this sequence "Turn 1: Phase 4 Had Abraxas successfully blocked last during his last phase, he would go first this phase. As he failed in his roll, he is forced to go second. Sebastian goes for anther hit, and having hit on his last phase, is no longer at -1 due to reach - he got inside the reach of the axe. Abraxas again aborts to Block, with the same values as last time." Does Abraxas really need to abort to a block again when he was already blocking in his last phase, and is being attacked before he can act in this phase? It seems to me that the block maneuver from last phase would still be in effect until he can act in this phase? Similarly, if a character did a haymaker or some other maneuver with a DCV penalty in his last phase, wouldn't that penalty still be in effect right up until he actually takes an action (including a zero phase action to reassign his levels) in his next phase? In fact, if he holds his phase (delaying taking an actual action), wouldn't the penalty still apply until he actually uses at least half his phase to act?
