Just came across this thread and am really glad to see you're testing these waters out (HERO Games).

I also was hesitant at first to try the print on demand service at RPGNow/DriveThruRPG. But the soft cover and hard cover books I've bought are of great quailty. You can't really tell the difference from a store bought book IMO.

I'm off to order both books right now.

Please add the new "Ultimate Skill" to the print on demand service as well :-)

On second thought, if you put the Bestairy in hardcover and fixed up the table of contents, I'd buy it again. My softcover is showing signs of starting to fall apart, and a few of the entries are wrong.

This seems to be going well guys. We've made more than we spent setting up the books as POD, so I think we can safely call the idea a "not failure" at this point. Thank you for your support.

I've bought some POD books from RPGNow before.  I've been impressed with the quality.  Both my wife and I are very pleased that we can get the HS Equipment Guide and HS Martial Arts on POD.

    Thanks!

HERO System Martial Arts 6th Edition has been made available via print on demand from One Book Shelf (DriveThroughRPG, RPGNow, and their related websites). So if you never got of the small number of this title we originally printed, you can pick one up now.

Note: This is something of a pilot program by those of us at Hero Games. It doesn't cost a lot to set up many of our titles this way, and we would like to make some currently out-of-print books available. We'll watch for a month or so and see what happens. If we make some money, we'll make it our policy to make books available when we sell through a print run. If we don't, then we won't.

Kaze9999 is a Tibetean Kung Fu Master. Actually he is the 9999th and got the job by chance - he won the title in a poker game, along with a herd af yaks. Actually, he thought that there were 9999 YACHTS in the pot!

You can't imagine his disappointment when he won and was shown his grand price! Ye, his Tibetean is more than a little rusty.

Since I'm running Mutants and Masterminds, but in a predominant Champions universe, I thought I would share some of my doodles as I get them done for my game. I'll post stuff here occasionally.

this particular beastie is being written up in MM, but was already featured as a Champions critter. Neil has the file on this one (as do I, but it is so buried in my mac, and it is a creation workshop file and won't be read by my mac) I'm hoping y'all can convince him to post it here.

Anyways the art is below. Have fun.

From Enforcer84's idea. Mention one thing you believe to be true about the most recent poster, and then add a complete and total lie, to make that poster appear to be more complicated.

Well, it might not work, but give it a try.

Enforcer84 - Not only is he a fine player and a good guy to hang out with, but Enforcer84 also has the largest single collection of lawn ornaments in North America.

Just finished Mr. Midshipman Hornblower by CS Forester. I'll probably skip Lieutenant Hornblower (I really didn't care for it) and go straight on to Hornblower and the Hotspur next.

    1. "Jump" by Van Halen. The song seemed to be everywhere. Didn't really get into Van Halen much beyond 1984, however.

    2. "AD 1928/Rockin' the Paradise" by Styx. Used to listen to this and Grand Illusion from a friend's LP while playing RPGs.

    3. "Leave It" by Yes. Bought on cassette from the now long-gone Odyssey Records on Las Vegas Blvd. It was a 24 hour record store, and I used to walk over in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep and shop for music and video games.

    My three choices:

    1) "Hello Again" by The Cars - I think everyone owned Heartbeat City back in the day. It was the first album I ever purchased with my own money (on cassette, no less!). The album spawned several big hits for The Cars. "Hello Again" wasn't one of the hits, but it was my favorite song in the album.

    2) "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago - Chicago 17 was another album that everyone owned. Without this song, I would never have become interested in Chicago--and never discovered the really awesome music they made early in their career.

    3) "No One Is To Blame" by Howard Jones - I actually prefer the minimalist album version of this song to the Phil Collins-produced remake that sold so many copies. I need to get that album on CD some time.

    Your turn!
