1. Here is a map with water front warehouse, a small diner and a PRIMUS/Coast guard base. I did for Dundjinni map contest. I did not win, but i got a lot of praise for making a modern map :-) Hope this gives some inspiration. http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=12163&KW=bengalelf I can't get the link to work, but the old copy and paste should still work :-)
2. Re: Cool Hero images Which ones? Is there any artist out there you do not support DT :-)?
3. I found this site a little time ago. I thought I would share it with everybody. I still admire and prefer our own Storn :-), but man can this guy draw. I find myself 'borrowing' his images for new villians in my world. :-) http://johnbecaro.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=0
4. Re: GM Help: That Player I Want to Strangle I have brought over three Dungeon and Dragons players to my current Champions game. I do not play much D&D but what I have noticed, it always seems like a competition to be the strongest. There seems to always be a problem with switching people's mental image from Kill'em and take their stuff, to a more Champions point of view, which is to be the hero, do what is right intead of just killing the bad guy. Superheroes arrest the bad guy because everyone deserves a second chance rather just kill them. One thing I have learned, there is always other players out there. You just have to go find them. If you lose all three players that could be exactly what your game needs. One of the hardest jobs a GM can do is ask one of their players to leave, but the end result of that desicion can save a campaign that would of otherwise destroyed itself. I hand pick the players in my group. And still I have had players almost destroy the campaign. Players I have had to get rid of because their play style seriously did not fit my world. I am most comfortable with a group of 5-6 players, but right now I have 7. Before we went to 7, I talked to party before a session. We descussed their concerns (Not every character would get as much face time) and mine (Combat would be longer and villains teams would need to be befed up) with the large party. In the end we decided, as a group, to go up to 7 players and so far we are still managing to have fun. Every decision that effects the game, be it a change in night, addition of a new player, removal of a player, I take to the party and descuss it with them. Open communcation is very important in any gaming group. About every three months I also start a session by asking the party is everything going okay? Is there any concerns that we need to address. And whatever they are even if they do not like something I did, I listen and try to find a common place to start from again. I do this becaue as much as the world is my baby, my creation, it also belongs to the players. It would not exist without them. The first thing I would suggest is talk to the whole party about your concerns and listen to theirs. From there you can find a solution that hopefully all are happy with.
5. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. You know, I think a team shot of heroes really brings the group alive. It also helps me see them as a team.
6. Re: The villain Nitro I have been working on his power. Here is what I hae come up with so far. Killing Atack 44d6, No Range, Explosion, No Conscious Control. That should be enough to level a city block. (Assuming the average city block is 264 feet. 264/6=44) I linked it to a teleportation 5" Megascale to prevent Nitro from dieing in the explosion; the 99 endurance should put him in LaLaLa Land like I want the attack to do. My question is, I want the power not to work if Nitro is affected by a Mindlink. Sort of like in the Wolervine and the X-Men episode, how Pscylock was able to keep him from blowing by using her mental powers on him.
7. In the short lived series Wolverine and the X-Men episode "Time Bomb", Nitro a mutant who willingly accepts confinement in a government mutant prison due to his lack of control over his powers. I was wondering does anyone have a write up of Nitro?
8. Re: Help with a power Okay here is my finished copy of Buzzbomb. I was wondering if anyone could think of anything else he might have or any other ideas for powers. That is the nice thing about being the GM; you do not have to worry how much a character cost :-) (No peeking Roger)
9. Re: Help with a power Here is another question I am try to go with a large TK power, I am placing it in a multipower. I like the missile deflection option. My question is can I link the missile deflection to the whole multipower? This way I can give the TK different attacks, but all will have the missile deflection. Is that legal?
10. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. You know, that is what I really like about Storn. He shares more than just character commissions here. It makes you feel like you really get to know the artist and the man. Keep up the great work Storn.
11. Re: Superhero Images Have to agree with that file corruption in the ol' noggin. I even dusted off my old fourth edition rule book to prove how right I was. Darn it the book says he has a blue shield. I have no idea how I confused him with Foxbat. Glad to know I am not the only one mixing up charatcers phookz.
12. Re: Superhero Images Wow looks really good, but wasn't Crusader's costume gold and brown?
13. Re: Help with a power I agree Ranxerox, but the reason I am designing it this way is to create a difficult situation for the heroes to work their way out of. I was thinking maybe even, if his team stood behind him, their attacks might gain more speed as they hit the wind tunnel created by the turbines. This is a comic book environment after all. LOL
14. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From my Saturday night Champions game. Flame: Fire base mutant hero; based off Firestar from the old cartoon "Spidey and his amazing friends" Oblivion: Party egoist The heroes have just found the IHA and Minuteman Robots battling the villain group Mutant Mayhem. Oblivion mindscans the building and discovers half a dozen IHA agents rushing to join the fight. She puts up a mindlink with party and tells them what she found.... Flame "You can just tell us. We're standing right here." (No need for mindlink) Later after all the heores, except Oblivion, have entered the building and joined the fight. Olivion is happy to look through the window and ego blast people. Flame " "Come inside and be a target with the rest of us."
15. Re: Help with a power Okay, but how would it allow Buzzbomb's teammates to attack the heroes caught inside the AOE? Wouldn't the barrier stop their attacks also?
16. I recent bought the e-book A Matter of Family by Chris Aylott for M&M Superlink. I wasn't excited about the story, but I love the villain Buzzbomb. I would post his picture here, but I do not ant to break any copy write laws. Anyway, Buzzbomb is a villain with what appears to be jet turbines on each hand. I would like to ask for help in creating a power for him. I am still using 5th edition, but I could probably convert from 6th. I am thinking of something like a 60 STR TK area effect cone. It would prevent heroes from moving and possibly knock weaker heroes to the ground. It would also prevent a hero's energy blast from firing; possibly make it go back wards away from Buzzbomb instead of toward him. My plan is while he cripples the heroes, the rest of his team could then attack them with their energy blasts Any help would be greatly appreciated as well as suggestions for other Powers.
17. Re: Would your hero register his Secret ID with Primus? In my campaign, the heroes are official liasions to PRIMUS. They work for the Silver Avenger Stevenson. Stevenson is famous for breaking rules, like using superhero teams, but PRIMUS leaves him alone because he get results. The heroes have shared their secret indentites with Stevenson and trust him not to share them with any other branches of PRIMUS. They also share their ids with MCPD, this creates a good working relationship with the police and allows the hereos to take over any super-related case. They also attend several police functions like the annual policeman's ball to stay a good terms with the local police. The Mutant Registration Act was just passed in my campaign; Stevenson faked registrations for the heroes, risking his own job in the process. This confirmed in most of the mutant heroes, in my campaign, that at least Stevenson can be trusted.
18. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Yeaaaaaa, Storn is posting commissions again. Between this thread and "quote of the week" I doubt I would use these boards. St George is my favorite, but I am partial to power armor suits. Keep them coming Storn. :-)
19. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. This is just evil! I see the Storn thread come up again. I get all excited about seeing some more commissions from my favorite artist. and there are none. Man that is like getting clothes for Christmas. By the way, is he that busy that he doesn't have time to post them anymore? Storn, I for one do miss seeing your work posted here.
20. From my Saturday night Champions group... Flame: Fiery mutant. Like Firestar from Spidey and his amazing Friends. Frontline: the token brick, wears a brown cape, mask and fedora. (makes me think of a brown Shadow) I found this one while going back into my notes. While they were fighting on Destruga and Dr. Destroyer showed up; the heroes scattered like roaches from the light. Frontline: "You left me alone with Dr. Destroyer." Flame: "Buy a movement power."
21. I have a new character joining my campiagn and he has asked for the D&D power turn undead that most clerics have. Funny how Dr. Mid-Nite is having trouble finding players, and I am an hour away and turning players away. And yes to players I turn away, I do bring up his campaign in Detroit. No one is willing to drive that far. Anyway, I would like to ask for help in creating this power. First note I am still running 5th edition. What I am thinking about is a 10 dice mind control only versus undead and only to make them flee. I am wondering how much of a limitation should only versus undead be, and how much of a limitation would only to make them flee be. I realize only versus Undead is based on the amount of undead in my world; which as a whole I would consider there number very small; it is a Sperheroic setting afterall. Also is 10 dic etoo much or too little? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
22. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From my Saturday night Champions group... Flame: Fiery mutant. Like Firestar from Spidey and his amazing Friends. Oblivion: female egoist. Splicer: a scientist that has invented and wears living bio-armor. Like the aliens from the movie Independence Day. Frontline: the token brick, wears a brown cape, mask and fedora. (makes me think of a brown Shadow) While running Foxbat for President…. The heroes are traveling from Millennium City to Postlethwaite, Pennsylvania. Since we figure it is only about a 5-6 hour drive, they decide to take Splicer’s Range Rover. Everyone is in normal id for the trip except Frontline. Splicer’s power suit is in the trunk. Oblivion: to Frontline “Are you going to wear that damn mask and cape the whole time?” Frontline: “I don’t want my secret identity out.” Oblivion: “You look like an idiot, and you are jeopardizing our secret identities you moron.” Frontline: “How, we are just riding in a car?” Oblivion: “For 5 hours. You think we never stop for snacks or to use the restroom. Don’t you think people will be questioning why a hero is riding with three normal people? Maybe they might put two and two together.” Flame, who is driving: “If you two don’t shut up I will turn this car around.” Splicer: “I have to go to the bathroom” Later referring to the prison fight… (Frontline went unconscious during the battle) Flame: “Remember when Frontline went down on me?”
23. Re: Assigned Cities... and stuff. I found the book Evil Genuis at Drive Thru RPG. It has a story called Cornfields in it. It is about mutant corn plants wandering around a farmer's field. I ran it for my party and made Thorn the master villain.
24. Re: Storn Idea to full picture Year 7 Pure A genetically altered solier. He was designed by the Institute for Human Advancement to hunt down mutants. He wears a t-shirt that reads "I see Mutants! and Kill'em!" He has a mutant detector in one hand and a really big gun in the other.
25. Re: Help finding a Demon Yes, it would be more interesting if each demon had their own power. The first step was to find a usable demon, After I adjust her to suit my needs, I will work on making each of the six different. Wouldn't it be nice if Champions wrote modules for us? That way I wouldn't have to 'borrow' M&M stuff
