Also, Anyone else think the only Kal-L is back is to kick Kal-EL in the cape and make him realize what he is supposed to be again, a hero. It just dawned on me while reading this thread, Superman has been acting real super post-crisis, just not real heroic, I mean, they had to "kill him" in order to make him be heroic. And post crisis, I know I have a problem with Kal-El, I just couldn't put my finger on it, and this is what it is. He isn't a hero anymore, he is going through the motions. I remember pre-crisis, I never had that problem with Kal-L.

(BTW Dangermouse comes out on DVD soon, rush to amazon now) Seriously though, I like the clairsentience bit better than the duplication bit. Just need appropriate disadv to simulate the critters abilities.

As far as the underlying design philosphy, I'm thinking it comes from years of playing Hero System. Kind of like I know how to build a mech in Armored Core to do what I need it to. But, I've been playing Armored Core since 1994, so I know what I can do with which parts. Same type of scenario, just little nuances that we as new players aren't going to get until we have been playing for a while.

And his name is Velocity-9, , hence all the 9s everywhere, lol. Now, onto the expierence part, what would bve a good starting recovery? 15?, 20?, 18? 19? And I don't mind dropping the CSLs. It was just an interesting thought and thats what I came up with to simulate moving so fast he is hard to hit.
  5. Ok, after some retooling, and tinkering with your ideas. I think I've come up with a servicable speedster. I did borrow heavily from you guys, relying on your expierences playing Hero System and I thank you for your suggestions. Now, the stuff I put in the EC, I know it can be drained, but keep in mind, I want this to be a regular guy, who is gifted with superspeed. He doesn't even fully know how to use his powers yet, so I'm staying with some simple ones. If his ec gets drained, well, he is him without his powers. And somewhere I read that movement/def should be in an ec and attacks in a mp so I tried to stay with that to make it simple for me. I double checked everything using the heropower calc spreadsheet and good ol PnP math and it seems right. Prof p.s. I looked everywhere for Z'lf, but couldn't find him. And I'm really not trying to copy off you guys, although it seems like I did. But I would like to see how a real high lvl speedster is built.

    Ok, I've almost got V9 right where I think I want him, lol. But in the BBB I can't find the cost to buy dcv, do I need to buy itas a CSL or is there a cost to buy just straight DCV? Prof

I'm going to be reworking slightly as I saw end as a conecern after talking with MitchellS and some of you guys in the last thread. Probably going to be incorporating some of your ideas in this. Course, some of the things you guys see I wouldn't have noticed since I have never played, ilke, I would have though a 7 dc would be decent. Thats ok, you learn as you go along. Prof
  9. Re: Here it is....rip it to shreds.... Ok, I smacked myself. I did most of the math, power calculations using the power calculator spreadsheet located elsewhere on this site. I also used one of the character sheet spreadsheets on hee that total up your points spent, figure your dcv, things like that. Abything messed up, yeah, I take full blame for not being able to add - lol - Lots of great information here, and no, V9 isn't finished, still a work, its gonna be a bit before the actual campaing starts. My GM is in the process of getting a 5E book to replace the BBB. These ideas are all very, very good. Much closer to what a speedster should be without all the clunkiness I have built into V9 atm. Keep the ideas rollin, gonna be a day or so while I go through all this and try to understand why you guys made some of the choices you made on powers and stuff. Thanks for the help guys. Prof

  19. Re: Can someone explain.... And yes, after careful looking at explosion, and some begging with the GM, I could use it to do cones as well. So going by that, it makes more sense to use explosion over area effect.
  20. Re: Can someone explain.... AH, I see my mistake, I added in the NCM after I had done all the limitations and advantages. That gave me 63. When I add it in first, I get 65.
  21. Re: Can someone explain.... Ok, someone help me with my math. I tried to run the exact same limits that MitchellS used on his flight where he has 65 points written down. I keep coming up with 63 total points. I gotta be messing up on the ncm, to do x8 should cost me 10 points, correct? because to double from x2 to x4 thats 5, and to double from x4 to x8 should cost another 5, right?
  22. Re: Can someone explain.... Looking at the explosion, seems like that might be better for a running in circles whirlwind type attack. I'm gonna want the whirlwind blast, where you whirl your arms and create a straight burst of wind. So would it be better to go with the area effect, any area, and be able to use one multipower slot to do both? Seems like it would. Also, I was thinking, everything except the flurry of blows attackand running should cost normal end, seems a little more balanced to me. Prof
