2. Re: Name That Band Hero! It is indeed Klaus Meine and co. I had an idea for a group of street kids with animal names called The Zoo to help them out on cases.
3. Re: Name That Band Hero! Submitted for your approval Blackout: Darkness and light absorption abilities. Dynomite: Explosive energy blaster. Lady Starlight: A "Supergirl" type with cosmic energy powers. Holiday: A gadgeteer who uses holiday symbols as weapons. They are all off-worlders looking for a home here on Earth. The press has dubbed them the Alien Nation.

5. Re: Name That Band Hero! That was quick.
6. Re: Name That Band Hero! My turn Night Prowler: Batman type with invisability to all senses. TNT: A woman whose punches cause explosions. Heatseeker: A speedster with fire powers. Problem Child: A girl who controls probability fields.

8. Re: What Champions Books Would You Like Published in the Future?
9. Re: Who would you recreate? The Tower of Shadows. A towering structure deep in the Adirondack Mountains whose origins are unknown. The native tribes called it the cursed earth. The colonial settlers stayed away from it. Modern scholars have yet to explain anything about it. Many have ventured to learn its secrets. Few have returned to tell any tales. It is a place of terror for many, but, to the truely "cursed", it is a place of refuge, for it is the guard tower between our reality and the mystic world and they are the guardians of this realm against all mysic forces. This is the legacy of the Hellfire Club. THE HELLFIRE CLUB ROSTER Hellcat: Darian Klybourne is a young drifter who becomes a human- bezakira hybrid when danger is near. The Collector: Sandrine Page' has the ability to syphon the energies of magical artifacts and transform them into destructive energy bolts. She collects these items once they are rendered inert. Her major drawback is that magical energy has replaced heroin as a barely controllable addiction. Devil Slayer: Centuries ago deep in darkest Africa, a young tribesman killed an innocent man he believed to be a demon. The Tribal Eldars placed a curse on him that he would forever hunt down demons wherever they may be by placing his soul on the weapon that would slay it. In order to become mortal and, therefore, break the curse, he must kill another innocent man. Nightmare: James Montgomery Lear possesses a suit of demonic armour and the ability to summon the satannic creature that bears his name due to a curse that has been handed down through the generations because of an ancestor's lust for power in 11th century England. Arcanna: Monica Timmons is a teenage novice witch who who has the ability to summon the dead through the Tower's "computer" known as the Deadpool. The Hellfire Club is led by Dr. Damian Hellstrom. Dr. Hellstrom is the leading authority on the mystic arts worldwide.
10. Re: Who would you recreate? The last two years when GenCon was in Milwaukee, I ran eight scenarios involving five groups of heros that were similar to DC's "Tangent" one shots. Different characters with existing names. Only, I went the Marvel route and called it the "Omega Marvel" universe. The teams were The Avengers (a priviatlly funded group of "parahumans" who protect the innocent), Hydra (a group of underwater commandos), X-Force ( a high-tech PMC), and The Hellfire Club ( "cursed" humans who defend Earth against mystical foes). The Hellfire club was replaced with a new version of The Starjammers (a group of heros who died years/centuries ago and rebuilt as parahumans to fight an oncoming invasion) the following year.
11. Re: Who would you recreate? Does anybody remember the Tangent books that came out in the mid 90's? DC Comics publisher Julie Schwarz gathered all his writers and artists togather to do a series of one-shots to celebrate the 40th anniversery of "Showcase #4"'s publication introducing the new Flash. Schwarz told them to create a new universe and populate it with whatever they wanted to come up with. The only hitch, all characters and concepts had to be given a name of a DCU character. So, the Flash became an aspiring teen actress with light manipulating powers. The Green Lantern was a mysterious woman who could raise the dead in order to avenge their murders with a magic lantern. The Atom had replaced Superman as the most powerful man on Earth. Nightwing was a CIA type organization that used magic instead of high tech.and so on.
12. Re: This week on "Champions"... GLOBAL DEFENSE INITIATIVE: THE SAPPHIRE SQUAD. "Sapphire and Steel" A paranoid KGB General has authorised the use of the Steel Battalion to search and destroy all "alien threats" within a small Russian town that seems to be the center for a host of "strange happenings".Can the Sapphire Squad stop the Steel Battalion before innocent people are harmed while convincing the General that no Aliens have infiltrated the city. This scenario is a rough proposal to be included in Origins 2006.
13. Re: Evil Corporations FROST INDUSTRIES. Jason Frost is a multi-billionaire industrialist who,on the surface, is dedicated to expanding the the knowledge of space exploration. In fact, he is trying to corner the market on all outer space technology, especially alien tecnology, in order to make a as much profit as possible. He even has his own super security force known as the Star Corps to back him up .However, the Star Corps first public appearence involving capturing an "alien" alive resulted in a head-on clash with one of the Global Defense Initiative's first strike teams, the GOLD TEAM, the ensuing clash resulted in two of the Star Corps members being captuered and sent to Tranquility Base (the GDI's lunar HQ) but exposed the fact that Russian supers were operating within the USA. Frost kinda has the goods on the GDI but he cannot expose them without making his actual agenda public.
14. Re: Superhero Images This is Skate. The teenage daughter of Force Aquarius's leader,Torpedo Ray. A Texan with a need for speed and a sweet sub fighter to fit that need.Unlike the introverted Sea Drake, Skate has a "don't mess with Texas"attitude. The two kids are the opposite of extremes but there is no mistake that they are the best of friends.
15. Re: Rules For Picking A Superhero Name
16. Re: Rules For Picking A Superhero Name Like the Golden age Marvel heroine The Silver Scorpion who: A) Did not wear a silver costume. Had no powers pertaining to the arthropod in question.
17. Re: Superhero Images You got the segments right on the money. My only problems are that the forearms and shins on the boots are gold as well as the belt( you might have mistaken it for movement between her lower torso and waist which I seem to not have clarified visually in the drawing). I had a lighter shade of blue in mind in her basic suit, but, this works better.
18. Re: Superhero Images Actually, only her hands and feet are white. Her basic suit is powder blue with gold trim (orange-yellow shade) as is the tops of her gloves and boots. The "segments" within the trim and on her chest is midnight blue. Her mask is is also midnight blue with glod eyes. She is a firey redhead.
19. Re: Superhero Images 2 ,definatly no.2. The daylight adds a dramatic look as he enters the ocean readying himself to take on whatever is waiting for him below. It also shows how close to the surface he is. BTW. you mentioned earlier that that you were confused about instructions pertaining to reversal of colors. I meant the mask only. The visor is blue. the rest is white and the gold stays the same.
20. Re: Superhero Images The mask needs to be reversed. the Gold is fine but the white and blue needs to be flipped. Also, the "dreds" on his head(my apologies for failing to mention this) are brown with various metallic beeds. I like the triangles going from gold to basic Lead weights, i did not think of this when I was creating him. Good eye!. You also got him diving into a lake, not the ocean like you had originally.I mention this simply because this is what I see diving into lakes at depths below four feet at swimming holes near where I live and they're anything but blue.
21. Re: Superhero Images I loosely modeled him on the gentleman that played Jango Fett and the the various clone troopers in the last two "Star Wars" films because I read he was from New Zealand and is of Maori heritage. As for the colourizing, You got it right. Hats off to ya'
22. Re: Superhero Images You're going to hate me two-fold but I can't help it. First of all,his basic suit is white, his gloves ,mask, right arm, and boots are midnight blue. The various "strings" on the uniform(and here is the second reason you're going to hate me) are gold in which the shade is similar to the helmets on the San Francisco 49ers or the New Orleans Saints (NFL Teams).
23. Re: Superhero Images Basic suit is Black, the "v" is beige and the mid-torso stripes are white and olive green respectively. The belt is brown leather with gold circles and iron gray squares. The rings on the forearms and legs are gold. He is a New Zealander of Maori heritage. In case anybody is wondering, yes, the movie was the insperation for this character even though I have yet to see it.
