  1. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Eh, the player in my group doesn't really have bad karma, he just tends to roll extremes. He'll go from 9 stun, 2 body on 7 dice one roll, to something ridiculous like 53 stun on ten dice the next.
  2. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... If you think that's bad, one of the players in my play group once got 9 stun, 2 body. On 7 dice.
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Consider the explanation requested, then
  4. Re: Character Curveballs I once put together a hero for a villain campaign I was running that was essentially a psionic Nermal (from Garfield). It's main power was a large autofire Ego blast that would typically take down the group's brick (whom Nermal was created to be the nemesis of) in a couple seconds. Very amusing, actually.
  5. Re: Internet Based Powers Nah, that's obviously Extradimensional movement into the cyberworld and back in a related spot. Only through computers. Because you can get almost anywhere with the net, given time...
  6. Re: Need help with a Villainous Summoner Thank you for a suggestion on the names, and as for background, I wasn't in a particularly good frame of mind for posting when I put this up before I went to bed. The idea for the background is that he is a villain for a mystical champions game revolving around DEMON. His origin is that he discovered an ancient grimoire on the art of summoning creatures from an otherworldly realm, and then started binding spirits to his summoner's horn. He has made a couple of highly destructive acts, which is why he is hunted by UNTIL, and he is watched by DEMON because he appears to slowly taking over one of the Demonhames in Vibora Bay. As far as the Focus goes, for his attack spells, he uses the horn as a tool to rip open a temporary rift in space to enable his chosen summon to come out and do it's thing. For the others, he's bound their spirits directly into the horn, and brings out a manifestation of their power for his abilities. But as far as Lethosos' suggestion goes, it's a good one, and one that's apt for an evil summoner, as well as giving him more of a reason to want to try to exploit DEMON (and more of a reason for DEMON to be especially wary of him).
  7. I'm creating a Final Fantasy type summoner for a game I'm running as a villain. I am however, pulling a blank on what to call said summoner, and I need some help with incantations for summons. My interim name for this character is Channeler, but I'm looking for a slightly more villainous name for him/her. I've attached a Hero Designer file of the character. Any thoughts on the villain itself are appreciated.
  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From my D&D game today: Rogue: "We have unleashed an evil too terrible to behold; The IRS (internal revenue service)."
  9. Re: Villains, Vandals, and Vermin: Who should be in it? I do believe Eagle-Eye's already been written up. He's in the back of the revised fifth ed book in the gnere by genre section under the Champions section
  10. Re: Beamsabers and Missile Deflection? What if you keep what you have, but also add the +3/4 version of damage shield, to simulate the fact that if someone/thing touches it, it takes the damage from the blade. It would also easily simulate the projectile incineration you alluded to earlier.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I guess it happens in every group. Almost forgot to mention something else: Same fight, right after the ogres entered. One of the party's rogues was perched on a statue next to the group's scout, sniping at enemies. The rogue shot at one of the ogres, hit, and yelled "I got one!" The ogre then proceded to walk over and knock him to -3 in one shot. There was much amusement from that. From joy to twitching in less than six seconds...
  12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Happened recently in a Dragonlance D&D 3.5 game I run. The group was fighting some Ogres, and the Wizard waded into melee combat, took a hit, went down to 0. His next action, he cast web, effectively trapping the ogre next to him, and putting him to -1 hp. He got smashed next round. The room burst out in laughter at the consquences of that...
  13. Here's a question that I came across while building a character. Say I have the following power: 8'' flight, Usable as attack, Area of Effect Radius, Personal immunity. Now, based on my understanding of the personal immunity advantage, it would allow me to do the AOE blast with out hitting myself. The question I have though, is whether or not it's possible to enable the attack to affect me, and thus be able to use the inches of flight myself.
