  1. And on the medical front, blood tests perfectly normal, so today we go for an EKG. A slightly different issue is being checked by eliminating a lot of types of food for a bit. Though it's looking like I've gotten much worse on processing dairy recently.
  2. Yikes. We had a cat that foamed and expelled noxious fluids everytime he was put in a carrier. We really limited his travel times... Shots can cause a reaction, though usually it's just lethargy and a possible low grade fever. (Out of > 1000 kittens i had experience with, two had reactions. One was fairly serious in that I had to give him fluids and cut out of the adoption event early.) And I need to read up on the latest going ons with flea meds. (Best thing about living at 5000' and a dry climate was cat/dog fleas didn't survive. So far, we haven't had any flea issues, but it's just a matter of time that one hitches a ride into the house)
  3. That's what the kitten is for.
  4. Nothing like doctor tests that don't show anything abnormal, but you feel like crap. Definite imbalance of the humours.
  5. Where we have our house parked, the main house needed to be repiped due to old decaying pipes. (And I got to point that out to the landlord since we were having some work done to make our house legal to park) During the results of inspections etc..., the plumber and inspector were quite fascinated in the water heater in the garage. It dates to sometime in the 80s according to them. It was still OK, but apparently the work nudged it out of whack, so the house people are mentioning very short hot water time. They're trying to get it replaced, but apparently that is being difficult. Doesn't really impact me since we have a tankless for the tiny house, but I seem to be the "responsible" person who can talk to plumbers/etc... while the landlord's son isn't around. (He lives there, but is on an extended trip)
  6. Looks like one of the beasties from Stranger Things in the lower right, though possibly it's what ST referenced? Looks like this might be a link to the original, plus other like: https://hcgart.com/
  7. Should be in "And now, for your daily dose of cute..."
  8. Went to the Multnomah Library sale and picked up 23 CDs for 50 cents each. Some that I didn't have and some replaced some stolen CDs that I never ripped. Though I need to start bringing my wanted list with me. (picked up a couple I already had...)
  9. I clearly remember Superman falling into trap doors on Superfriends. It's a homage!
  10. Part of my mother in law is in a glass figure, but the rest of her ashes went overboard on our Alaskan cruise. My mom I scattered near where she grew up since she was happiest there. My grandmother got dumped somewhere in the desert...
  11. Olivia got her stitches out this morning and is much happier. Especially not having to deal with the cone or donut of shame.
  12. That describes my mom in her final couple years. Thankfully there was still some money and she had alright benefits to be able to put her in a home, but it was a struggle.
  13. CathyCat, Olivia, and Ava relaxing on the couch. I'd say the kitten is feeling at home.
  14. I found a behr color: https://www.behr.com/consumer/ColorDetailView/390D-4 (Geez, they make it difficult to save the image. Almost as if they don't want you to take it to a shop for mixing) I agree with Old Man, I think someone messed up at the store.
  15. That would be a very aggressive color.
  16. Latest addition to the household is Olivia. Possibly hit or tossed from a car, or had been in the engine compartment. She was found by the road and taken to a vet clinic who was able to hold her for a few days. We drove down to pick her up. She did have a dislocated hip and some bruising on her chest. Also was blind and her eyes were completely non-responsive to light. However, she does seem to see at least light & dark currently, though I think there's been improvement over the last couple days. Odd thing is, unlike any Siamese I've known, she doesn't get red eye. One of our other cats who is also a Siamese mix gets red eye without any flash involved. I think that may have to do with how much light gets thru her pupil. She she's another vet on Wed to have an x-ray to make sure she can be spayed safely and we'll have another look into her eyes.
  17. Been there... My early 20s, 10k of calories was my norm.
  18. Been watching Adventure Time and it's quite the surreal Post Apocalyptic story
  19. I'm back to where Mt. Hood is the volcanic threat, but Mt. Ranier would cause friends some issues. Just from ash though. My wife's aunt lives pretty close to Cancer and friend's in Fall City.
  20. Thankfully I have outlived most of the assassins.
  21. I've been taking to biking again now that we're back in Portland. It really is a rule, though I've always had a healthy respect for larger masses getting the right of way. The only times I go thru lights is after making sure something isn't going to try to kill me. When I was in the Bay Area and without a car, I had a 20 mile commute, I don't think there was a day that someone didn't try to kill me.
  22. Not too far from my wife's aunt's house, but probably won't be applicable while she's house sitting in a month. (She's more of a fish fan)
  23. Where? (Place to acquire said fish, since we're in the same region of Wa)
