  1. It sounds like Multiform will be the best option. Brain-in-a-very-nice-can with a small suite of bodies to use.
  2. I'm thinking of building the classic "I've got a brain that can plug into a lot of bodies" sort of cyborg and I'm trying to figure out how to simulate it. Ideas? So far, I'm thinking of a VPP with the limitation of "must be a part of a whole body" concept.
  3. Atomic Robo Telsa (yes, that's his real name...) Planetary (supernatural weirdness is still weirness to be investigated) Allucard (take your pick of which one) Bryan Mills (from the Taken movies-vampires have kidnapped his granddaughter in a form of a bizzare wish to commit suicide...)
  4. While I can't see the two universes merged (Laundry magic is more common, if more dangerous-mind you, Milo getting access to computational demonology would be a very, very scary thing...), I can see the Laundry as a template for the way the British handle the monster problem. In short-anybody that seems a monster is brought into the organization, one way or another. The useless and "B" players are given government jobs that keep them chasing their own tails until they hit retirement age. The "A" team players go out and fight monsters (Operations, the Artisan Rifles, etc, etc). And, for missions that need to be done in a certian way or needs high deniablity, you have External Assets.
  5. Figured it out. Last incident that he was involved in, Allucard has been SIGNFIGNANTLY depowered. He's very dangerous, very capable, lots of skills...but probably no more "powerful" than the average Master Vampire (except lacking in a lot of the vulnerablities-sunlight only bothers him the same way bright lights bother normal people, that sort of thing). Hey, when somebody like Martin Hood calls you a "necomatic abomination", that means something. Usually something bad, but there you go. He's in the US because he's on vacation. Sabattical, you might say. He wants a challenge, and he's hungry. By human standards, he's a sociopath of the first order. By vampire standards, he's kind, friendly, boisterous, and like a challenge. Doesn't harm non-combatants, views it as a dishonor. Doesn't kill because because he's bored. Because he's bored of killing just because he can. Pays his bills on time. Tips well. Cleans up after himself. Except for his disquieting habit of looking at people's thoats, he's not too bad to be around. Oh, and for some reason he can't turn anybody but virgin females past the age of 13. Still confuses everybody involved. Opponents, targets, "dog shit" supernaturals? They're dead, they just don't know it yet. The British Governemnt has made it clear by back channels that they want him back...well, as much "alive" as he is. He just wants a challenge. And, he is looking at MHI as being his biggest challenge (mind you, he'd like to try and take on Agent Franks, but he's not ready for that yet and he knows it).
  6. ..it's pretty good. Got ideas that I'm going to use in other places, campaign concepts, etc, etc, etc... Mind you, I also can see how you'd bring Allucard (http://www.devermore.com/surbrook/adaptationsanime/hellsing/hellarucard.html) into this whole mess...what happens when a vampire becomes the nearest thing to an Eldrich Abomination that humanity can understand, and hunts monsters now because he kind of likes humans (sort of how you'd like dogs) and he's bored. And, he views other vampires and monsters as just lame posers. He's the real deal and the real monster. He just wants a good challenge...
  7. Re: A new Enemies book: What would you want to see? I'd like to see some "fuzzy boundary" villains-like a all-female crew of supervillians that is more about "the score" and succeeding at "handing" the biggest things around than taking over the world. Or "a team of supervillans that can't seem to shoot straight..." I'd also would like to see some "middle-tier" supervillian groups and teams. If you somehow knock out VIPER, or manage to throw The Warlord in a jail and lose the key...some possible people ready to make the jump to the next level. Or have the players "help" them get to the next level by using them.
  8. Re: Doctor Destroyer Pissed... Yep, and there's an issue with the two Destroyers-they both know they're there and one cannot be around and really there as long as the other is.
  9. Just picked up the new Champions Universe 6Ed and...well, if you've read it, you know what's happened to the good Doctor. The question becomes...when he gets out of it, how pissed will he be? And, what happens next? I'm thinking of all the options, from "having some of the ego knocked out of him" to "epic war between two of the most powerful beings in the Champions Universe." Comments, complaints, threats upon my life?
  10. Re: CHAMPIONS 6E -- What Do *You* Want To See? An idea... Cover the major "ages" of comic books, give an idea of what the ideals and methods are, with a few comic books suggested to give players and GMs an idea of what players expect. State "(Age X) is considered the default campaign age in Champions, and all character creation is done accordingly," and make sure to note the differences in each age (i.e. the "anti-hero" age will have a lot more RKAs...).
  11. Re: [Group]The Eight Gates BACKGROUND- The woman that was to be called "Mistress Morgana" was born a plain Emily Stone in a small town in the middle of nowhere, Nebraska. She was a wild girl when she was at home, and became a serious party girl when she hit college. And, her mutant powers erupted into her skin, making her strong and extremely tough. She would fall into a bad bunch of low-end supervillians, commit some robberies, get arrested, escape, and do it all over again. Until her Sifu arrived. The man whupped her up the side of the head-and kept doing it until she fell down. And, he told her, "you have not embraced your destiny, your true destiny." And, he began to teach her and bring about her enlightenment. She would learn magic, all of it's powers and glories and wonders. She learned how to use it to strengthen her own abilities. And, from that, she took a new name. As "Mistress Morgana" she would bum around the mystical world, learning things and developing her powers. A chance encounter with one of the Fae lead her into a game of wits, and she won a "gift without consequences"-a mirror of all things. And, helping out a group robbing Babylon, she received a gift of power as well, a Cloak of Ghosts that made her nearly impossible to find except by directly looking at her. When she got the cloak, she started to realized...that somebody was trying to find her. So, she sought him out. She found a factory, a receptionist that seemed to know that she was supposed to be there, and man that offered her a new and powerful job. And, the man was pretty cute, too... PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION- Mistress Morgana wants power. She likes power, and if she can't have it, she'll find somebody that will give it to her. Her ego does get in her way...but she's gotten better at keeping it under control. Just recently, she's learned about the whole title of being Archmage-and, she has taken two gifts of power from the major powers. She's kept her intent to seek the title secret-a lot of powers might try to keep her from trying to get a lot closer to the title. QUOTE- "Why don't you just stay there...weighing more than fifteen times as much." POWERS/TACTICS- Mistress Morgana likes using magic-lots of it. Her magical power pool (VPP) lets her do a whole bunch of things, and she has a love of fire. Access to the Mirror of All Things lets her pull all sorts of "tricks", like hand grenades and other tricks. Seeing things burn makes her smile, a lot. She tries to serve as a counter-magic effect against other mages, and hides her mutant strength and toughness by magical tricks. She will do a lot-anything, in fact-to keep her mutant nature a secret. APPEARANCE- Mistress Morgana likes to play up the whole "magical mystery" thing, and wears a full length cloak (the Cloak of Ghosts), a brown silk dress, and heels. What most people might not notice is that the heels are made of superpowered materials (her density increase is such that she weights nearly 900 lbs), she has body armor under the dress, and the domino mask protects her eyes from flash attacks. As Emily Stone, she dresses very fashionably and sensibly in the best fashions and acts as Wendell Lee's assistant.
  12. Re: (WWYCD) Superhero Assaination... Yea, but what if members of your team agree with this guy? I could easily have seen my last gaming group go 50/50 on this on a Bush clone.
  13. "Inspired" by my reading of Black_Summer... The players discover that a very well-respected metahuman is going to kill the President, VP, and most of the senior staff. Once they've done that, they plan to insist and demand a new round of elections to select a new President. His reasons as to why he wants the President dead...are valid if you're deeply into a certain set of beliefs (BDS if your President is a Bush clone, "He's too dangerous" if it's President Luthor, etc etc...). He is genuinely sincere and not being influenced/mind-controlled, etc. Assume the metahuman involved is about as powerful as your team...WWYCD?
  14. Re: [Group]The Eight Gates BACKGROUND- Manuel Cevantes was one of those really low-end PIs that could never catch a break. Very good at what he did, but he could never break into the "big time", and he got really, really tired and really cynical of dealing with cheating spouses, welfare cheats, and such. One day, the perfect case came about-a company thought that somebody was ripping off their warehouses. They hired Manuel to find out who was doing it. The problem was...the company was an ARGENT front, and the thieves were VIPER. Manuel got caught in the crossfire, and the blast very nearly killed him. It did destroy his arms and legs, and put him in a coma for a month. Then, in his hospital room, Captain Chronos appeared and used some kind of machine to rebuild Manuel's body with bleeding-edge cybernetic components. The shock of the installation drove Manuel into a rage, smashing his way out of the hospital room. For about a year, Manuel (taking the Villian ID of "Motorhead", after his love of motorcycles), was pretty much a low-end supervillian for hire until Eurostar came to town and offered Motorhead a "tryout" for a position in Eurostar in exchange for him doing some serious damage to distract the heros away from their next robbery. He did, and Motorhead got caught. He would learn, while in jail awaiting trial, that Eurostar had set him up, and even if he succeeded they wouldn't have hired him on. While in jail, Motorhead's powers were suppressed by a Stronghold-type power suppressor...but something was going wrong. Motorhead was starting to get faster. Not just stronger (as well), but faster. The more he was exposed, the more powerful he got. On the day that the Eight Gates broke him out of the transport to Stronghold, it was only the physical restraints that kept him in check-and those, barely. A bit of plastic surgery, some false IDs, and "Miguel del la Machi" was born, and worked for Wendell Lee's company as the head of security. And, Motorhead joined the Eight Gates as their brick. PERSONALITY/MOTVIATION- Motorhead's in this for the money. And the respect. And the chance to beat the ever-loving shit out of VIPER, ARGENT, and Eurostar. Beyond that, he likes working with the rest of the team (for the most part, Mistress Morgana seems to think of him as another stinky peasant risen above his station), and likes to do what he does. Other than that, he's completely determined. If something ever gave him a problem...he'd pound it flat. Or never stop until the job is done. Ever. QUOTE- "Man, you think you're stronger than me? Here you go!" POWERS/TACTICS- The "bio-cybernetic" implants put into him by Captain Chronos (of a technology so advanced, that even a character from the Galactic Champions era would think they were bleeding-edge), give Motorhead a great deal of strength and endurance. He has, on occasion, actually juggled tanks without difficulty. They also seem to boost his natural resistance and stamina-at this point, Stronghold has no idea how to contain him other than permanently locking him into a heavily reinforced cell, because his powers cannot be negated. In addition, Motorhead is fast, almost at speedster-levels of skill. In battle, Motorhead tends to work more like a "traditional" brick, keeping his high speed in reserve (or using those actions for recovery) for a surprise for an unwary foe. He especially likes to beat up on bricks that think they are stronger or tougher (Bulldozer is one that he loves to wail on). APPEARANCE- Miguel del la Machi is dark-skinned Hispanic male in his early '30s, short and a bit squat, but heavily overmucled. He prefers wearing a suit and tie, or motorcycle leathers. Motorhead wears full body armor, a full-face helmet, and heavy motorcycle boots. The colors of the armor are black, silver, and grey.
  15. Re: [Group]The Eight Gates BACKGROUND- Melissa and Rebecca Valleres grew up in a small town in Oregon, with the man that they called "Grandfather". Besides raising two daughters, "Grandfather" was a home tinkerer and like inventing new little gadgets. His twin daughters caught a bit of his "tinkering" bug and worked in his workshop with him. When Grandfather was killed by a drunk driver, the State of Oregon couldn't find any other relatives-they could only find two birth certificates, issued by a woman that retired to Arizona and died a few years ago. Placed in the Foster care system, the two were lucky to get themselves a foster home with Pamela Cook... ...whom was a very well-concealed religious nut that hid her mania and her love of "helping children to find Jesus" and knew just how to hurt kids without leaving marks. To the outside world, Madame Cook was a wonderful Foster mother, who occasionally had "bad" kids (it would later be discovered that one ran away due to abuse, and three were buried in her basement for "failure"). Inside the house...she locked the children in their rooms when they weren't doing chores. Failure to do well in school would be punished harshly. And if the girls were not "perfect Christian ladies"... The one time the girls tried to report Madame Cook, the principal thought they were exaggerating-and Madame Cook locked them in the room, in the middle of a heat wave with locked windows-for a week, with only two jugs of water and a bucket. The same day they awoken to their powers, they awoken to each other. Madame Cook found them after their first week of the two making love to each other, not knowing what else to do... ...and to this day, neither of them knows which one killed her. Both did know...they had powers and they had killed Madame Cook. Grabbing her money, the two girls ran away from home, went north to Seattle and started living on the streets. Using their powers, they committed some robberies and such, nothing much but very desperate...when they ran into the Black Harlequin, whom gave them a place to stay. They became his Jokers and for the first time in a long time...they were happy. Until the day that the Black Harlequin was going to stage a major, major terrorist act and they said no and barely escaped. They had some money, fake IDs perfect enough to fake being about 19 or so...and the Black Harlequin was coming after them. Until they ran into Wendell Lee and his crew. A good lawyer to clear their names from Madame Cook's murder (by that time, the bodies had been found and the murder was ruled an accident), and Wendell Lee offered them a job. "But," he did note, "the two of you need new costumes." Lady Summer and Lady Winter were born. PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION- The two, due to their experiences, have had a definite "break-out". Nobody is going to tell them what to do (tho, they respect Gunhead), and they are going to have as much fun as possible. Because of their mind link, the two more-or-less share one mind (which makes them vulnerable to mental attacks), and as long as the two of them are together, life is good. Nobody is going to separate them. Nobody. QUOTES- (Lady Summer)"You do look way too cold..." (Lady Winter)"...or is that too hot?" POWERS/TACTICS- The two of them have control over a coherent "group" of powers (Lady Summer-Light/Heat, Lady Winter-Night/Cold), and both can do about the same thing with-change the environment, project bolts of force, create barriers, move using their "element" (Lady Winter can hide in shadows, Lady Summer can go anywhere that light can flow without stopping). The exact nature of their powers is unknown-they aren't mutants and their powers are not magical. In addition, they have a small supply of gadgets for building devices of all sorts. The two will act as a "secret communicator" and use their powers to generate all sorts of attacks or barriers at need. APPEARANCE- Melissa and Rebecca Valleres are identical twin girls of Central/Eastern European descent, somewhat attractive, and in good shape. Both have green eyes, and the only way to tell them apart is their hair-both have shoulder length hair of different colors(Melissa's hair is white with a streak of black, Rebecca is white with a streak of black). As Lady Summer and Lady Winter, the two wear identical skin-tight body suits with concealed armor, the color scheme (white with black, black with white) being replicated on the body suit. They wear full face masks and full-color wigs in costume.
  16. Re: [Group]The Eight Gates BACKGROUND- Mike Ponjes was not quite branded with the word "loser" when he was born, but damn near close enough. His dad was a three-time felon, small-time mob guy in New Jersey. Mom hit the bottle too much. And, the less said about kids at school, the better. The only thing that was going for him was a local martial arts dojo, where he learned kung fu from a teacher from the fabled Southern California schools-the sort that only gave students a black belt if they could prove they got into a genuine, honest-to-God street fight and win. When Mike finally got out of high school, he started buming around various jobs, did a few jobs for various crews, that sort of thing... Until his mutant powers came in during a fight. It was an honest accident-he hit a guy-and it was like there was an invisible knife in his hands, which he just slit the guy open with. Some practice showed that he could create all sort of blades-from swords to knives to claws. And, they were invisible to everything. Mike would hire himself out to a local, small-time mob boss as his hitman, and was looking to move up...when he got into a bar fight that another mob boss set up to kill his boss. He only learned about it at the last second as he realized he was hearing a guy's thoughts...and Mike wound up in jail. Before he knew it, a hideously high-paid lawyer bailed him out, and he met a gentleman that wanted to hire somebody like him-a man by the name of Wendell Lee. A few months later, some training and new costume, the Ace of Blades was born. Mike likes his job. A lot. PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION- Mike Ponjes is pretty much the definition of a "good 'old boy" at heart. He likes a good fight, a good drink, and hot women. He's proven to be very loyal to Wendell, and likes to do the job as Ace of Blades. Oddly enough from him, Mike likes space travel, and Wendell has promised to set him up as being in charge of the space program when all is said and done. QUOTE-"Let's get ready to RUMMMBLLEEEE!" POWERS/TACTICS-Ace Of Blades is a mutant martial artist with the ability to generate telekinetic "blades" of several sorts. Mostly trained in kung-fu, Ace of Blades likes a good fight and will try to pick on somebody that'll give it to him. To conceal his ability, he claims to know "secret techniques" that let his blows act like blades. His ability to read minds, as well, is utterly invisible and this makes him scary... In most battles, unless he sees a specific problem, Ace of Blades will challenge a team's martial artist first, or deal with extremely tough bricks that can withstand most other kinds of damage with his Penetrating Punch. He's a great "agent buster", and likes a good tossle. Sometimes too much... APPEARANCE-Ace of Blades is a caucasian male of about 6', in good physical shape. His (armored) black and white costume has a definite "playing card" motif and he wears a full face mask. Out of the costume, Mike has brown hair and grey-ish eyes.
  17. Re: [Group]The Eight Gates BACKGROUND:Hidden deep in the mountains of Japan is a village. This village has always been a quiet place. Overlooked during World War II because there was nothing there. The nearest train stop is 90 minutes away by car, and that is via roads that are sometimes "dirt tracks" at best. The village got electricity that wasn't dependent upon generators only twenty years ago. And, even then...the village seems to have been held in time. And, it was a secret training ground for some of the best ninjas in Japan. It was where the ninja named Ninjigo was born. She was trained...and developed her own powers. Her mutant abilities were so very useful to being a ninja-as long as there was a single opening at least a half inch wide...she could slip in. She didn't need a sword-her arms could get sharp enough to cut through steel. She even spoke to the kamis that hid in the hills near the village. Her first assignment was a simple kill of a man that stole from a major company. She made her kill and came home... ...to discover the village destroyed. Utterly wrecked. Corpses nearly five deep of everything and everyone-men, women, and children. The temples burned. She knew of the few sources where there was stored money and ID papers, and she stole them. For the next two years, she banged around the Tokyo underworld. At some point, she offended some over-boss of a yakuza clan, and was trapped in a corner when a mysterious man in armor saved her. "Hello there," he said in accented Japanese. "I think I might have a job for you." That was how Ninjigo met Gunhead. She's served faithfully ever since. PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION- Ninjigo, with a very well forged US citizenship naming her "Lisa Ichigo", is a highly motivated professional killer. In the field, she serves as Gunhead's bodyguard and backup and in her secret ID, she's his executive secretary. She has realized, over the years, that she has fallen in love with Wendell Lee, but will not pursue the relationship. If he was to ask, she'd follow it up...but honor will not allow her to move otherwise. In the field, she's a quick, efficient killer and fighter. Unlike some, she has no sadism about what she does...and she is very good at it. QUOTE-"It will be done, sir." POWERS/TACTICS-Ninjigo is a mutant who's body is highly pliable. This gives her a huge amount of defense against most physical and energy-based attacks, but also makes her very vulnerable to sonic attacks. Besides being able to slip into small spaces, she can make her arms "sharp" enough to cut through steel (HKA), or act as clubs. She also carries a small number of throwing knives. In battle, Ninjigo moves rapidly, hiding in various locations, and striking from behind. She'll sneak into the oddest places-even flatting herself against a wall or such-to strike. APPEARANCE-Ninjigo seems to be a classic "ninja" made of rubber. There's a simple grey "slit" that serves as eyes, and beyond that...only the things she carries alters her smooth form. As Lisa Ichigo, she is slightly taller than average Japanese woman with long black hair. She prefers to wear business suits or more "formal" clothing.
  18. You're characters wake up one day in their shitty jobs, in their shitty lives, in a shitty world... ...wait a minute. For some reason, the game world is one where the supervillians "won" in the '80s and remade the world into something much akin to our "real" world, with the supervillains being the secret masters of the world-and can get away with mass murder. The players still have their powers, but the supervillians are now playing for keeps (pretty much assume that any Code Vs. Killings are bumped up one "bad" level-CvK to "normal", "normal" to "Casual Killer", "Casual Killer" to "Gets hot committing massive violence"). Assume any contacts or former allies are dead, gone (escaped to Faerie, pocket universes, etc), crippled beyond any help, sold out or "the only help I can give you is a thirty second head start before I have to call you in-and even that might not keep me from getting a bullet in my head." What Would Your Character Do? ("Inspired" by my fond wish to feed Mark Millar to a wood chipper-feet first.)
  19. Re: THE BOOK OF THE DESTROYER: What Do *You* Want To See? Some other Doctor D ideas... *Interactions. Like VIPER and DEMON, we need to know what he thinks of the various factions in the Champions Universe. Or does he know of them? *"Tweaking The Doctor"-Some suggestions and ideas to make the Doctor more dangerous or more interesting, or more insane...
  20. Re: The most unbelievable trope in the superhero genre... In the Six Ages universe, the Third Age of superheroes started in 9/11/01, and the world is changing because of it. The technology of 2008 is more like the technology of 2018 and there has already been a papal encyclopedia and ruling on magic, and things are just getting a touch stranger every single day... Oh, and the technology is getting fun.
  21. Re: [six Ages] The First Age-Glories Let's talk about The Beast, shall we? The Beast is the devouring hunger of destruction and chaos unrestrained, the thing that devours without hunger, just because it can. One of the few things everybody agrees on, with few exceptions, is that the Beast is a Very Bad Thing. When a man beats his wife, the Beast laughs as each blow lands. When a tax collector smiles as he ruins a man for the sole reason that he can, the Beast feels warm and happy. When a woman seduces a married man for the sole reason of drawing him into sin, the Beast rides at her shoulders with whispers and hints. The Beast is in all of man, yet it is not what controls a Man, as long as he doesn't allow it...but if some monsters are allowed in, they will start to take over and destroy them. Sometimes, when the Beast takes over, it makes monsters. These are easy to find and know about. Sometimes, when the Beast takes over, it hides very well behind the corrupt priest, the desperate man, the hungry mage. These are much harder to find and stop, as many of them hide in a spiderweb of power.
  22. Re: [Group]The Eight Gates Gunhead BACKGROUND/HISTORY- Wendell Lee is one of those sorts of people that "brilliant" was made for. When he graduated from college at 22, he had four patents in his name, all for various chemical processes that made him millions. From that, he would parlay that money into shares in a failing food distribution company, turning it around and gaining a majority share in the company and developing it into a major regional company with nearly two dozen different innovative packaging and storage techniques that would cut the instance of contaminated and spoiled food to next to nothing. At 36, he is still the area's "most eligible bachelor", but hasn't made any progress towards getting married or seriously engaged. You see, he's trying to take over the world. The plan he came up with happened while he was still in college. Wendell Lee realized that he could take over the world-it was just going to take a lot of work and effort and planning. Oh, and engineering, too. And, for some reason, magic. He fell in with a bunch of wannabe sorcerers and discovered that he had a real talent for magic. He seriously worried that if he started playing with magic, he'd turn himself into a newt or something. But, he studied it just the same, to keep himself amused. And learned more of what he needed to get ready to build what he needed. Make some money "vanish" from the company, and that bought him the parts he needed to build his personal suit of powered battle armor, do a few jobs, and you develop a rep as a pretty decent supervillian-for-hire that can be trusted to get the job done. Given two or three years of this, he built up he rep and decided it was time to build up his team. The only question was...who and how would he recruit them? He ran through the methods-psychology was out, so was just flat-out recruiting, and putting an ad on the Internet? He didn't want to get Foxbat... So, he turned to magic, and decided to do a vision quest. Found what he needed, fasted for three days, washed and cleaned himself ritually and started...and found himself in a room of stone, a room with eight walls and eight sealed gates, all surrounding a table with eight sides. On that table, on the spot where he entered, was a antique compass. He took the compass in hand, and would awaken with the compass in his hands. The compass didn't point north, but it would always point in one direction. He followed it, taking a trip to Japan, where he would run into Ninjigo, rescue her from her double-crossing employers...and the direction of the compass would change. The rest of his team would fall in, and as his team fell in, the compass would vanish. Now, he's in charge of the team he calls the Eight Gates, and he's ready to take over the world... PERSONALITY/MOTIVATION- Wendell Lee is a man whom likes playing games. He's a local chess grandmaster (not world-wide, because he doesn't want to show off, just yet), and a lot of what he does is moving people and pieces around. Everything he does has no less than four reasons for what he does, and he'll make sure that he always, always has a backup plan. His ego is only in what he does-he cannot accept failure and has to occasionally be persuaded to give up his schemes that aren't working. If he's facing off against somebody that loves to out scheme somebody else, he'll play a game of wits against his enemy for as long as he can, so long as he wins. QUOTE-"Yes, you caught me. But, if you don't let me go, the bombs will go off in exactly thirty minutes..." POWERS/TACTICS-Gunhead wears a suit of powered armor that uses focused gravity as it's primary attack and defense mechanism. With it, he can generate pulses of force (EB), a "blade" of gravity energy (RKA), pinning somebody to the ground with gravity (Entangle) and suppressing a flyer's ability to fly (Suppress). His attacks are visible from the intensely bent light due to gravity effects, but a lower-powered version of his attacks is invisible. He also uses gravity to fly silently, and to generate a force field to supplement his armor. He also possesses some magical talent (his Mystic VPP) that he can change by choosing several items and fetishes he carries with him. He doesn't use his magical powers when he can, preferring to hide them and only use them in an emergency. One of his most powerful permanent spells is Rasputin's Obscurement, which he cast onto a signet ring for the few times that he's been captured. When involved, he mostly coordinates his fellow team members, acting as fire support and engaging targets that would be a threat. APPEARANCE-Wendell Lee is a mid-sized Caucasian man with short brown hair and grey eyes, preferring to wear buisness suits and more formal casual wear. As Gunhead, he wears a grey full bodysuit that has solid arm, leg, and torso plates. The helmet he wears is utterly faceless (it relies upon video images, which provides him with flash protection).
  23. BACKGROUND: Wendell Lee was a genius. Absolutely brilliant at whatever he did, he created a major food distribution company out of scratch, using not only a head for business, but developing several new packaging methods that made the shipping of food much, much easier. What very few people know is that Wendell Lee has plans. Huge plans. And one of them is world conquest... In secret, he developed a suit of powered armor, designing it to make the most use of the ability to create focused waves of gravity. This "G-Armor" would be the first step in his plans for world conquest, as the supervillian "Gunhead". With the money he made on several jobs (all of which were nice and clean), he was able to start the second step of his plan. Besides being a brilliant inventor, Wendell Lee had a touch-if not a genuine ability-for magic. While he had a grudging distrust of magic, along the lines of "I don't want to accidentally turn myself into a newt", he did do research into the spell he needed-a spell to find seven other people that would be perfect for his plans for world conquest to join his team. The spell worked, and he saw before him on a single round table eight gateways, each of which was closed except for the one he walked through-and a compass that pointed anywhere but North before him. Taking the compass, Wendell Lee came out of the fugue state, compass in hand. Wendell Lee followed the enchanted compass to find Ninjigo-a lost ninja who was working freelance after her clan was exterminated by a mysterious foe. Resucing her from a client that decided that "dead ninjas tell no tales", she joined Gunhead as the second member of his team. The next member of the team, Ace Of Blades, he had to bail out of a New Jersey jail as he had gotten into a nasty, nasty fight. A well trained martial artist with the ability to create telekinetic "blades" and a very hidden ability to read minds, Ace of Blades was very happy to get out of prison and joined up as well. Two more team members-twin sisters Lady Summer and Lady Winter-mutants with various energy control powers (light and heat for Lady Summer, darkness and cold for Lady Winter) and both fascinated with gadgets and technology were trying to find new jobs after breaking away from a job with the Black Harlequin and Gunhead offered to protect them from the madman. The brick Motorhead, equipped with high-end cybernetics that could let him bench press small buildings, able to run at nearly 300 mph at top speed and able to pull of several speedster tricks, got double-crossed by Eurostar. They offered him a place in their organization if he did a job for them but they used him as bait for the cops. Busting him out of a convoy going to Safehold, Motorhead quickly joined up. Gunhead wouldn't find Mistress Morgana, she would find him-wandering into the office of his main front company, she showed that her magic found his and she wanted to join his cause. Having already received gifts of power from Babylon and Elysium, she is a serious candidate for the Archmage-and needs the protection of Gunhead to protect her from those that don't want another Archmage. That one of her gifts enhances her mutant toughness and strength doesn't hurt, either... An exiled Maldorian, Firebrand faced the same trial of power that created Firewing...and came out with the speed of fire. Escaping from the arena to Earth, he joined up with Gunhead and developed his speedster powers and the ability to "flash" (teleport) across long distances. With his group assembled, Gunhead would offer up his team, then-named "Gunhead Bangers" for various groups as additional superhero muscle. A few little costume changes made sure that anybody who knew what fellow members of the team were before don't know anymore...and he is steadily building up the money so that when the time comes-the Eight Gates can be awakened and begin their goal of world conquest. HISTORY: Most of the world only knows "Gunhead Bangers" as a for-hire supervillian group that can be trusted to get the job done. Nobody knows-yet-that this is a front for the creation of a powerful new supervillian team in the form of the Eight Gates. Wendell Lee/Gunhead is aiming at supplanting somebody like the Warlord or Eurostar, and gaining power and prominence for his eventual goal of world domination. Wendell Lee is patient, and he's working very hard towards his goal. GROUP RELATIONS: Unlike most supervillian teams, The Eight Gates actually gets along with each other very, very well. With the exception of Firebrand (who's powers make it impossible for him to really conceal himself), the team maintains cover identities and secret IDs via Wendell Lee's food distribution company. For the most part, they are paid well, live well, and do very well indeed. Wendell maintains a very strict "won't sleep with team members" rule-which annoys Mistress Morgana, whom keeps trying because she sees it as one way to get herself further along the path towards being Archmage, and Ninjigo wouldn't hesitate at all if he asked. Lady Summer and Lady Winter have a very creepy "sister love" aspect to each other that occasionally seems odd-and most of the other team maintains outside relationships. If there is a weakness in the team, it is Firebrand, whom occasionally feels "left out" by his fellow team members and is only used when they need his abilities. With few exceptions, most criminal organizations regard Gunhead Bangers as a reliable mercenary supervillan team-they get a lot of work via VIPER and occasionally ARGENT (recently, Wendell Lee has been exploiting ARGENT's latest problems by buying up a lot of ARGENT's front companies for their technical abilities). They will not work with the Black Harlequin, or Eurostar-as members of the team wouldn't hesitate to kill their paymasters first. TACTICS:The Eight Gates maintains a vigorous and capable ability to engage targets in the field. With few exceptions, they hide their "secondary" powers, with Gunhead being prominant in this in not showing how good his magical abilities are without the ability to hide them behind technology. Motorhead is a reasonably good investigator from his prior job as a PI and they do a lot of research on their targets, threats, and anybody they might face. The team has several code words, and one of the tricks that they use is to split into two smaller teams with Lady Summer being in one and Lady Winter being in another-and both able to use their sisterly connection (Mind Link) to stay in touch with each other. Right now, they're preparing to take over if one of the major powers gets whacked. If it doesn't happen soon, Eurostar might want to watch their backs...they're already starting to look into creating an "agent academy" to build up their military force. Campaign Use:The best way to use the Eight Gates is to start building them up, from Gunhead starting out as a solo supervillain to building up the team...to becoming a new and dangerous master villain. He's looking for any sources of power for his eventual campaign of world conquest-from technology to biology to mystical. One big campaign aspect of the Eight Gates is evolution. If chosen as the major threat of a campaign, the players will face an evolving and developing threat in the Eight Gates. If you need The Eight Gates to be more powerful, boost their powers or add agents to give them additional muscle-Gunhead is very happy with the team that he has right now and isn't looking to add more team members. If you need to weaken the team, leave out a few members-they might be doing other jobs, or they haven't been recruited yet by Gunhead. CAMPAIGN SEEDS: Gunhead has decided it's time to expand his company into the making of electronics (and weapons), going up against ARGENT. The war keeps getting worse and starts to spill out into the streets. Lady Summer and Lady Winter discover that they are actually exiled Fae from Elysium-and try to go back with the promise of great power to the rest of the team. However, having them come back to power in Elysium would be very, very bad-as in end of multiverse Bad. Hilarity ensue. Motorhead's techno-organic implants are malfunctioning, and the team is trying to steal, rob, and kidnap what they need to fix him.
  24. Re: [six Ages] The First Age-Glories This might work....tho, in my (chocolate-overloaded) mind, being a Lilim is more of a partnership that occasionally has somebody else grabbing the reins more than a "possession". Have to talk about the Really Bad Guys soon.
  25.
