    As to the FBI investigation, who else should have been talk to regarding the Prof Ford allegation?

    Prof Ford has made her statements and is still in contact with Senator Grassly regarding her reported evidence that she is unwilling to turn over. Are we expecting her to suddenly change her statements and commit purjury?

    The Judge has made his statements under oath. Are we expecting him to suddenly change and commit purjury?

    Everyone we have been lead to believe to be at the party has been talked to and denied knowledge of the allegations. What other witnesses do we reasonably expect?

    The Ramirez allegations has fallen apart by the NewYorker's own doing. She was never a particularly reliable source and the folks pushing some hearsay claims had their originating source flattly deny it.

    And Pizza Gate 2.0, aka Avenatti's case never had merit.

    With respect to the allegation of sexual misconduct, which witness are we lacking?

    Concealment with OBVIOUS on it is self defeating.

    Just because a lim belongs on one power doesn't mean it goes on everything in a compound power. We wouldn't put BEAM on both the RKA and Concealment.

    And what of all the positions the Libertarians take in contrast to the the traditional right of the US? If people think of Libertarians as 'right wing' I worry that they are not really aware of what it means to be Libertarian or Right-wing in the US context or perhaps so far left that even centrists are right wing. And if one is defining 'right wing' as merely 'pro-capitalist' then we need to have a long talk about Le Pen in France cause she is solidly left wing, President Macron is to her Right and the fact that will mean redefining most right wing parties in Europe as solidly left wing. That seems like a bit of a stretch.

    Huh?

    I have only one right wing source I listen to regularly and that person is largely anti Pres. Trump. Most of my news feeds are left wing, Libertarian or broadly centrist.

    You are of course free to think as you will, but perhaps before claiming someone is in a bubble, you'd be best to learn more about that person. Just a thought.

    Just a minor correction there. 6e1p380 the difference between OAF and IAF is a half lim.

    OAF = -1
    OIF = -1/2
    IAF = -1/2
    IIF = -1/4

    I am totally with Doc on this. The difference between OAF and IAF is a quarter lim. That point increase is more than reasonable to simulate that greater utility for a specific class of weapons.

    I also believe similar builds are used for Bricks and Speedsters ala Flash using improvised rocks, etc. as thrown weapons. Inobvious because it is hard to account for all the variety of potential around the character but accessible because it can be taken away or the access to the character mitigated (distancing them from rubble, etc.).

    This doesn't mean a Cane Gun isn't also an IAF, but resting everything on that single style of application might be a bit too extreme. And even in its case, once it is used, it is fairly obvious that it is a weapon. No one shooting another character with a gun lodged in a cane is fooling anyone as to the nature of the Cane. Just that it is essentially inobvious until used. If the Cane-Focus RKA wants to be so undetectable such that it is hard to recognize it even in use, it needs Invisible-Power-Effects. As a default all power should be visible to at least three senses. For a nornal gun that is Sight (looks like a gun and the muzzle flash), hearing (the bang) and smell (gun powder). Just because one puts on a 'disad' doesn't mean the power also miraculously gains a potentially expensive Advantage as well.

    That also seems to be a generally accepted standard in the fiction as well. Thanos's and others gems of power are IAF because until they are used there isn't much to indicate to a laymen that they are special. Once used, though, it is understood who the source is and generally what on their person is the source. But to a keen eye, the gems are obviously powerful items, the cane is obviously a gun, and the small gun is obviously hidden in the duster's pocket.

    Am struggling to see what is hackneyed, but that is peripheral to the approach.

    Looking at the rulebook (6th edition-vol 1-p376)
    “If a Focus is Inobvious, it's not immediately clear where the power comes from. Examples include disguised or concealed weapons (such as a cane-gun or a blaster hidden inside an ordinary-looking glove)”

    I think this shows that the rules intend for it to encompass weapons inobvious until they are used as well as rings that provide powers without it being obvious that they are the source of the power.  No hand waving necessary. RAW.

    And no, Old Man, I'm not raising my hand. The sheer number of flat-out lies from the man already on public record, leave me unsurprised by any report of deception from him, whether or not a particular one proves valid.

    I generally wouldn't buy any special skill or power for the weapon unless it was specifically designed to be hard to detect.

    Most swords are built with OAFocus.
    Many guns are also built with OAFocus.
    If there is a class of gun easily concealed, have that class merely get IAFocus. Inobvious to reflect that it can be concealed by most folks in most situations.

    If a weapon is like a Dillenger gun and designed  to be hard to detect, then buy it with a plus 1 or 2 to a concealment roll.

    By giving voters a direct say are we not forcing a judge to be a politician for those 8 years? Rather than disinterested concerns of law they would be compelled to consider the political fallout. We already have such worries without adding on explicit partisan political pressures. I worry that doing so would bring the court's reputation down to congressional levels. Likewise, nuanced issues of law expressed in concurring opinions yea or nay are likely going to be lost in the noise of public discourse even more so than they are now.

    Also, like the above it would require a constitutional amendment process likely to be even more bitterly partisan and dividing.

    But the Senate was set up that way precisely to prevent the "tyranny of the majority" of representation by population, which is the House of Representatives. Two houses of Congress, one rep by pop, the other rep by state. The more populous regions, and the smaller ones, both having a voice, both having real power, but neither able to dictate to the other. Checks and balances. Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, dividing government responsibilities so no individual or body can concentrate all the power; yet also with the means to exercise limited oversight on each other. Checks and balances.

    Is it an efficient system of government? Not very. But if one of the Founding Fathers' priorities was to prevent the rise of an autocracy like they just threw off, this is a good model, which is one reason why it's been the inspiration for subsequent governments around the world. Is it currently dysfunctional? To a considerable extent, yes; but that's more a function of how those who have been given power have chosen to exercise it, rather than inherent flaws in the system.

    If there is no particular benefit to the PC, I would probably go with both Social Complication: Everyone is Distrustful and Distinctive Features: Frightening Aura.

    Social Complication because we are modelling the social response to him AND Distinctive features because it is something innate to him.

    If the effects are benefiting the PC, you could build it as an Uncontrol and set effect Mind Control or PRE for PRE attacks to cause fear. Should be fairly cheap. You could still let them keep the Dis. Features with that build.

    If you have that goal (to not taget allies), go ahead and use ONLY selective and never target yourself.

    No problem with the FBI investigation, though I doubt much can be made out of it.  The last second means to this seems a little shady but, hey DC, nothing special to see there.

    But, one part of this has been p!ssing me off.  How people were "horrified" that Kavanagh dared to be "angry" over being accused of rape.  For any normal human, you damn right you would be.  Under the circumstances, I an disturbed by his restraint.   In the same situation, I might have to carted in Hannibal Lecter-style, with someone on the ready with tranquilizer darts.  And even in the aftermath, , my singular life goal would turn into resolving to outlive everyone involved just so in my old age, I could go and urinate on their gravestone.  (Obviously, my lack of tactfulness would discredit me from the Supreme Court .  And while I might be playing this to absurdity.  I can say one thing definitely is I wouldn't have been even a 1/10th as calm-but I am apparently immune to political tact, for better or worse)

    But, to the heart of the matter, if you don't assume an accused rapist isn't guilty until proven guilty, this should be easy to understand.  I find it quite disturbing and a clear sign of how consumed with political hatred EVERYONE has become to think one accused of rape shouldn't be angry.   The heinous nature of rape and their accusations if possible requires triple checking data and avoiding the jump to conclusion*.  The MeToo movement has made it, intentional or not, no big deal to accuse a man, any man of rape.  And perfectly justifiable if only for the fact they were born with the dreaded Y mark on their genetic coding.

    In any case, I'm done with this.  This saga hasn't been very conclusive, but quite enlightening.  ANd to point all of this out,  condemns me so be it.

    *I know in cases in the past I have rushed to judgement myself,  and may in fact make the same mistake again.   But, it is the wrong thing to do, especially given the situation as it stands currently at this moment.
