  1. That's what Time Limit is for. It makes an instant power function similarly to a constant power for the duration. In this case, you'll be able to used your gun for 5 minutes after the first use, then it shuts down and the way Lucius set up charges(*) means you won't be able to use that clip for an hour. (*Of course, with 16 clips, you can just switch out 1 clip for another (1 phase) and be good to go for another 5 minutes. by the time you've used the 16th clip, the first 4 will be ready to go again. Did you intend for that Lucius?)
  2. Change Environment: Stunning appears in the Advance Player's Guide Vol I, pg 83.
  3. Actually, no. Basic Invisibility has a 'fringe' where the subject can be detected enough to attack if an observer makes a PER Roll. Define the character's 'fringe' as all-or-nothing so that if an observer makes the PER Roll, then the observer clearly sees the character. If the observer fails, then they can't see the character at all. Use the points you saved from not buying the Trigger advantage to buy a linked Change Environment to give observers minuses to their PER Roll.
  4. Throwing Pies would be Flash. Seltzer Water would be Flash again, but this time with double knockback (+3/4 to base cost). The Banana gag would of course be Change Environment with Luck & Unluck changing the odds. The Mochi Mallet would be a straight Blast that does no BODY to living beings (-0). Finally, the 'Off With His Head' routine is LOTS of Resistant Defense with the Limitation Susceptibility: Change Environment (Stunned for as many phases as the attack had D6 plus 1 (Hop can recover if an ally assists him for a phase). Hope that helps
  5. We probably need something like the Language Chart for Science. Hmm... I shall direct you to the Ultimate Skill, pgs. 260-266, which has Fields divided into Disciplines, Subdiciplines, ans Specialities Again, The Ultimate Skill provides an answer: Basically, Steve felt that since "Science" was comprised of so many fields, disciplines, subdiciplines, and specialities, allowing a general "SCIENCE!" skill would be too tempting for too cheap. Also, It makes the Etymologist (Specialities: Etymology & Chymerology)/Roboticist/Physicist (Speciality: Size Physics) easier to distinguish from the Physicist (Specialities: Dimensional Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Robotics)/Neurologist from the Mechanical Engineer/Physicist (Specialities: Astronautics and Hyperspace Physics) than if I told you that Hank Pym, Dr. Doom, and Mr. Fantastic all had the SCIENCE! Skill.
  6. I know there's a 'Hunka, hunka burning love' joke in there, but I can't think of it for the awesomeness of Belkar having Durkon's back in the last panel
  7. Oh, I'm pretty sure Multiforming into a vehicle is legal. How else would you write up Turbo Teen??
  8. I've just read the first few chapters of Gleipnir and I'm starting to wish I hadn't (mainly because of Claire), but I've got the general idea of what you're wanting and I think I've got an 'easy' idea of how to do what you're wanting: 1) Make stats for Shuichi. 2) Make stats for a vehicle (we'll call it Chucky Ruxpin because the first thing I thought of when I saw Shu's altered form was So that's what you get when Teddy Ruxpin 'gets busy' with the Bride of Chucky.). Add a computer (or just add INT & EGO to the vehicles stat block) with Shuichi's INT & EGO and the Physical Complication: EGo is 0 when someone with the coin is 'riding' Chucky Ruxpin. 3) Give Shuichi the power Multiform:Chucky Ruxpin. 4) Let the coin be the 'key' to Chucky Ruxpin and give it the skills Combat Pilot:Chucky Ruxpin and maybe some 'martial arts' with the focus being the coin (IIF most likely). This way anybody can pilot Chucky Ruxpin - so long as they have the coin. 5) Done. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go chug some brain bleach in an attempt to get the Boo Hag known as Claire outta my head.
  9. It's in FREd as well: The language didn't change in HERO System Sixth Edition, and only changed a little in Champions Complete: I would suspect that you could 'break' object with Dispel in 4th Ed as well, but all my pre-5 copies have either bitten the dust or have scarpered off somewhere, so we'll need other HERO grognards to cofirm it for us.
  10. Why should it? It doesn't affect Phantom girl (or all the natives of Bgtzl who don't have flight rings), Flash (or any speedster who can 'vibrate' thru matter), Kitty Pryde (who couldn't airwalk in her early days). or the Ghost (who I don't believe has any special movement power). The only time I remember gravity affecting anyone was a one-shot villian in Batman Beyond who discovered Batman's secret ID (and so had to be bumped off). Heck, I don't remember any RPG suggesting that you need a special power simply to walk on the ground while insubstantial. Just remember that the game is intended to cover fictional reality, not real reality.
  11. Because most cars don't have arms or legs to force you to break the hold?
  12. Wouldn't the Multipower count as just one power, and not two, for concideration of Foci breakage?
  13. I think Bubba was wondering what Godsend Agenda is, not SA. From what I've read, In Godsend Agenda, the gods have descended to Earth and, for the most part, have integrated into society acting as Superheroes & Supervillians. A PDF of the 1st Edition is selling ar RPG.net for under 6 bucks. Might be worth checking out.
  14. At first I was gonna say something like Resistant Defense, impermeable, usable vs. 1 other at range, visible. But after reading your description of the effect I don't see why a simple Entangle wouldn't work, unless of course you expect the ones englobed to be able to attack through the bubble, in which case see my earlier suggestion. Hope one of those helps.
  15. Only if she doesn't go tumbling down hills. Badum-bum-TISH!!!
  16. For 6th Edition? Sure. I don't think that anyhing's changed between 6th & 5th so you should be able to use it in 5th.
  17. To be fair to the writer of EE, DC had a pair of supervillians (Coldsnap & Heatstroke of the Masters of Disaster) who had similar problems; Whenever CS got within a foot of HS steam erupted between them. They joined the group to get money to cure their condition. IIRC, at one point HS was thrown into CS, and the resulting steam bath knocked them both out.
  18. After they had been launched and on their way to their respective targets un the US & USSR (it was WWIII, in 1990). He would later go on to call the people of Earth 'gullible fools'. Read a humorous recap of that story here.
  19. Since dizzyness affects your sense of balance (which is controlled by your inner ear), might I suggest you try this power: 40 I Spin You Right 'Round Baby, Right 'Round: 12d6 Sight Group Flash vs. Flash Defense (Hearing), No Range (-½) While dizzy, the target suffers the ususal penalties (½ DCV, ½OCV in hand to hand, 0OCV at range) as described on pg 133 of Champions Complete without suffering from a loss of vision.
  20. When the T'Shol made their Invasion attempt, were they met by The Solution (I bet that would one time Ultra Woman kept her mouth shut )?
  21. Nooo... That's Brittany Diggers-Gia, Tiffany's mom.
  22. Where'd you get that idea? The range of AOE (Surface) isn't implied to be 'personal' like Damage Shield was in 4th & 5th editions. (That said, the original poster seems to be running off of a copy of 5th edition, which means that my suggestion's pretty much useless to him unless he and his GM handwave it into their game, sorry about that).
  23. Well, color me complicated, but wouldn't the solution be a combo of Time Limit, Reduced End, and Damage Shield? Like So: That way he only pays END for casting the spell, not maintaining it and can cast it as many times as he has END. If he does run out of END, the last casting will still be good for 5 minutes, so he can always cast it on his dagger last and still try to be effective in a fight.
  24. Here's a PDF that should help. Quick DC Chart for HERO.pdf
  25. Surprisingly, I'm first to respond. Weird. When adding damage from two different powers, a power with an advantage is typically considered the base attack, and all powers without that advantage are reduced by the dividend of that advantage as if the advantage were a limitation. For instance, the fellow with 4D6 Penetrating HA and 20 STR will have his STR dice lowered by the +1/2 Advantage of penetrating, i.e.: 4D6 / (1 + 1/2 = 1 1/2) = 2 2/3 or 2 1/2D6 (since we don't use 2/3 D6) penetrating which is added to the 4D6 Penetrating HA to get 6 1/2 D6 Penetrating total. The same applies to the lady with the 4D6 AP Hand Attack and 40 STR: 8D6 / 1 1/4 = 6D6 AP + 4D6 AP = 10D6 AP total.
