  1. Re: WHen did The Hero system first The Hero System has always been part of the bedrock of reality. However, it was only dictated to wise men by angels back in 1981.
  2. Re: '70s TV Supers Mad Max could be a Days of Future Past scenario.
  3. Re: '70s TV Supers Diff'rent Strokes! Super-powered Gary Coleman ftw! (Or was that 1980s?)
  4. Re: Thou Shalt Not Speak Its Name I actually kind of like that.
  5. CLOWN. OK, we all know these guys are on the outs with the gods (may their beneficence be eternal) who run the Champions Universe. I can see why -- too goofy. However, I think we can see lots of viable non-goofy characters based on comedy themes in the comics that have worked well -- Joker, Riddler and Arcade come to mind, and I'm sure there are many others. Do you see any way to reincorporate CLOWN into the mood of the current CU, by tweaking them, toning down their silly factor and so forth? If DC did it to the Silver-Age Joker, I don't see why we can't do it to CLOWN.
  6. Re: Teleios: The origin story It was CLOWN.
  7. Re: We are Seeclons, we are many There are a couple of similar characters on the unberworld site.
  8. Re: You can't move! Ha ha ha! I'm thinking more of one-on-one combats. This power could turn Grond into a (very large) garden gnome, as long as the END lasts. Except for Grond's +2 SPD only to punch. I'm trying to wrap my head around the image of Gronf trapped in time but still able to punch.
  9. Re: You can't move! Ha ha ha! I don't want to turn people into statues. What do you all think the limitation "Cannot Reduce Speed Below 1" would be worth? -1/2?
  10. Re: We are Seeclons, we are many Can an individual Seeclon act independently of the others?
  11. Re: You can't move! Ha ha ha! Man, why does anybody bother to get Entangle?
  12. I've been working on my new Black Hole Guy supers character (he of the little pointy friend), brainstorming on powers. Here's an obvious one I came up with: Time Dilation I: 12d6 Suppress Speed (60 Active Points) Time Dilation II: 6d6 Suppress Speed, Area Effect (Radius; +1) (60 Active Points) My question is -- isn't this ungodly powerful? On average the first one will bring the target's Speed down by 4, immobilizing most Bricks and virtually all mooks and bringing even a Speedster with a Speed of 7 down to a laughable 3. The AE version is less of an "I Win" button, but it will neutralize a whole room of agents (or bring them down to a SPD of 1 if they're Viper guys) -- for the same cost as a 6d6 AE EB. Would you guys allow this? (I have no GM to go to since I am in a long spell between games. This is a character "in reserve." Making characters is fun. )
  13. Re: Dyson Sphere Ship Wouldn't that take several million years?
  14. Re: Deep Medieval RPGing Darklands was a great game. I THINK it's available for free (and legal) download.
  15. Re: Terrax the Tamer, Dead Herald of Galactus. cough cough Spiderman cough cough Firelord
  16. Re: The Abomination (Marvel) I love how a guy that can lift kilotons only does 2d6 NND with his Low Blow maneuver. (I'm not try to attack the writeup with these comments. The writeup is awesomeness incarnate. It's just little things about the system that I think are funny.)
  17. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I saw the remake of Freaks. It was actually very well done. I was too squeamish to watch the end though. This is the only movie that has ever made me wimp out.
  18. Re: The Abomination (Marvel) I can see it now. GM: (rolls dice): Wow! A three! The Abominatrix totally made her Seduction roll. Player: Ummm. Now what? GM: Your character and the Abominatrix head off to her hotel room for a night of gamma-fueled romance. Player: No way. Come on, she's a green, eight-foot-tall freak of nature, and my character is a sprightly Mentalist with a COM of 30 from the Land of Fey. It is totally out of character. GM: Did you hear me? I rolled a three! A THREE! (Shows player dice.) A CRITICAL SUCCESS!! You have been overcome by Abominatrix's wiles and the ways to a man's heart that only a green, eight-foot-tall gamma-spawned freak of nature knows. She paid good points for the Seduction skill. If YOU got a three, wouldn't YOU want a success? What's good for the goose is good for the green, eight-foot-tall gamma-spawned freak of nature, especially if it is lonely and has had a few drinks.
  19. Re: The Abomination (Marvel) Your lips say "no," but your eyes say "yes, yes, yes!"
  20. Re: The Abomination (Marvel) Abominatrix has the same stats as the Abomination, plus a high Seduction skill roll. "C'mon baby, you know you want it!" (pucker)
  21. Re: Terrax the Tamer, Dead Herald of Galactus. His Cosmic Axe won't penetrate tank front armor.
  22. Re: What gives the "rightful" king the right? Just pointing out that if you actually believe that the King has been appointed by and is favored by God, you are going to factor what you believe to be the possibility of divine retribution into your plans. It is real to you.
