  3. For those people looking for inspiration or background for their Pulp Hero games, http://www.archive.org/details/oldtimeradio is a collection of radio programs from the Twenties, Thirties and Forties. No Shadow, I'm afraid, but you can listen to adventures of Superman, Batman, The Cisco Kid, Phillip Marlowe and Strange Doctor Weird (?!) Then finish up with some Glen Miller.

  6. Re: Weird Adventures -- A Different Kind of Pulp Setting That was a module called 'City of The Gods'. It was an infamous landmark in Dave Arnesson's Blackmoor campaign. He co-authored the original D&D game.
  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Heh! Not quite. The Davey Crockett was a recoilless rifle you could mount on a jeep with a range of about 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 mi. Atomic Annie was a little bit larger with a range of about 20 mi. There was a great range of weapons produced: Nuclear Artillery And there was a whole slew of strange ideas. How would you like to be the soldier issued this? Backpack Nuke And my personal favorites: a nuclear-powered cruise missile and a spaceship powered by nuclear bombs Sorry to tread-jack. "Now back to our regular program ..."
  8. Re: Zeppelins I also recommend this game http://www.sierramadregames.com/index_airships_at_war.htm There's a bit of record keeping involved as you juggle your hydrogen/helium supply and ballast in order to have enough to get home. (Especially when some bastard keeps shooting holes in your gas cells! )
  9. Re: Gangbusters! to Pulp Hero As far as I know not publically. For more information about Gangbusters you can read the designer's original note at his blog site here: Bloody 20s. Start with his June 13 postings. Theres also a nice summary here at RPGnet forums: [Gangbusters] Can someone give me a quick breakdown? A great, under-appreciated game for its day. Other than these, what do you need to know? .
