Blood Dragon, the title humans have gave him, is a left over, a remnant of primordial race of intelligent reptilian humanoids that were killed off countless millennia ago in a comic mishap. Sanguine Dragon, a monk and spiritualist of his kind was off, in a hidden cave hidden in the moutains in what would one distant day be Asia, lost in a meditative hibernation so profound his students would have to awaken him.

    They never came.

Later when disturbed a landslide, Blood Dragon awoke ages later to a world totally unknown to him, his people, their society and works gone. Confusion, despair and unimaginable lose drove the normally peaceful Blood Dragon mad and his rage turned on to the hairless apes that had, to his unbalanced mind, usurped his people's place... perhaps even engineered their fall! He became a true terror, using his might, martial prowess and mystical skills to embark on a reign of terror. Yet some spark of his conscious always held and held back, causing injury and terror but not death not directly except in honorable duels.

Eventually he came to the attention of Yeng-Tao temple who dispatched one of their most powerful fighters, Xian Wu, to deal with draconic terror. The two warriors met in a pitched battle, neither able to gain the desicive upper hand they had time to learn each other their fighting style and spiritual auras. Xian Wu sensed their was good in this strange creature buried in madness born from boundless greif and Blood Dragon saw echoes of his people's teachings, martial and otherwise in the human actions and words. Perhaps somehow they'd survived or were indeed eternal truths waiting to be discovered by the wise and diligent.

So their battle ended in  draw and truce and Xian Wu took Blood Dragon back to Yeng-tao where the healers and teachers were able to restore his balance and bring him some measure of peace. In gratitude, he joined the temple, adding his teaching to theirs. Blood Dragon is now a respected if unusual sifu and scholar and one of the more exotic aspect of the temple. His introspective and scholarly nature have mostly reasserted themselves but he does enjoy some sparring and the temple's superhuman students often offering a rousing challenges and the lesson to be learned in victory and defeat. He also wishes to atone for his misdeeds while in the grip of madness and sometimes ventures out to deal with mystic and martial threats. He accept the name “Blood Dragon”, the name given him by terrified victims as additional penance so he will never forget his shameful behavior.

On one recent journey, Blood Dragon heard rumors of some human “technology” genetic reconstruction. Though he's not sure of the particulars, he believes it may be a way to bring his race back from extinction. And plans to travel to the island he heard off where such experiments are being conducted to ask for their help.

Life has been...complicated lately...not much time to do things, but I had an old picture of Nightstalker, (my first Champions hero) that my granddaughter took an interest in...so I drew an updated version of him, in line with my Knights Templar theme.  The Nightstalker mantle was passed on during game play with Johnathon Templar becoming an NPC...but I always liked the character.  So, he's "back" as the leader of the Knights Templar...and renamed aptly...Templar.  I managed to keep numerous elements of the original armor in the new design, although this one is far more bulked up, and in effect, "Space Armor"...but that's deliberate with the amalgamation of modern and alien tech, with steampunk, etc. for the campaign tone.  He retains all of his original toys, although in somewhat revised fashion.  A favorite was grenades...now they're micro-grenades, housed and launched from his gauntlets...and others I could go into, but won't since this post is already too long.  He's a galactic level hero.  The pic is simple pencil and ink, and colored with Berol Prismacolor pencils.  Went for an alien texture on the "blue" pieces, sort of like the organic armor of the Vorlons from Babylon 5.  Here goes:

    The Difference Engineer

He comes from a different time line where the first computer was developed by Charles Babbage, the Difference Engine. And he was one of the people who worked on it until the time line was altered by an American who would insist that it never worked and that Americans developed the first computers including preposterously computers in the home. So now The Difference Engineer has come to restore balance and make the timeline what it was. This computer tech can knock out modern tech which renders most battlesuits useless which confirms his theory that his timeline was the correct one and the current one is the right one.

As part of an ongoing attempt to help one of the team, a genetically engineered super soldier (TAO or Tactically Augmented Organism) learn there's more to life than combat missions, the female members of the team have an extended "Ladies' night" After hearing one of them refer to it as a slumber party, TAO does some online research that results in this statement:

"In preparation for the slumber party operation I have downloaded a list of appropriate activities: making humorously deceptive phone calls to former sexual partners, the consumption of frozen diary products and uncooked cookie mixture, the exchange of trivial unsupported facts about the social lives of others and, according to several of the training videos: mock combat with sleeping cushions while wearing diaphanous garments that leads to noncommittal lesbian sex play is a standard procedure."

Stereotypes are useful in some instances. They're a quick way to establish something about a character like their nationality quickly and clearly to an audience that might not be familiar enough with the region they're from for some more subtle. Stereotypes aren't automatically offensive,IMO. It depends on presentation. Many US characters are stereotypes when get down to it. Sometimes I even think its better to make a character that while a stereotype (at least in part. There can always be more to the character) is interesting instead of a more generic character and say "They're from Otherplacia".

In the original write-up, it was specifically mutant powers.  He was a mutant-hating bigot with dissociative identity disorder.  His alternate personality manifested mutant powers and began hunting mutant "sinners".
He was the aide to the Archbishop of Spain until a mutant attack killed the Archbishop and left him trapped in the rubble with the corpse overnight.  The experience is what turned him against mutants and the trauma is what triggered his breakdown.

    Dark Matterman

Some people really should not mess with things that should not be messed with. Professor Sidney P Newman stated rather than theorised that Dark Matter could be manipulated if you had the right suit. And so did Sidney set out to steal such a suit from a man like Dr Destroyer or an organisation like Viper. He succeeded and then got a reasearch assistant to wear it to test it out. The 'volunteer's' name has been lost to time and history but Sidney got some man to wear it. Unfortunately he payed the price for his work and died and the Dark Matterman took his place.

Marathon was one I used quite a bit. He was a rival for an Olympic Athlete themed PC: Olympiad. It was a perfect match as they were almost polar opposites. Olympiad was all about fair play, hard work, something of a lady's man but courteous, respectful and a bit chivalrous towards women and he was an honored American athlete. Its like they wrote Marathon for the job.

I drew this about a month ago...rehashing the process over and over...this was originally "Steelfist"...Ironman knockoff that I used a few times...tons of power, just never got the feel for the character, so he became a very useful NPC.  I wanted to redesign him, and my current concept for my own world involves a variety of themes, such as magic, steampunk, and alien tech...so I redesigned him as "Ironforge" with a steampunk concept...except now I look at him and think..."I gave a schizophrenic an American Express Black card, and set him loose in a 1930's government supply depot..."  I like the design, but I'm not settled on it...he's in the 9' range, but I'm thinking of redesigning again, making him more like a Titanfall mech...or the Veronica Hulkbuster...tell me what you think... (his current colors are going to be metallic, bronzes, copper, steel gray and black were applicable)
