  1. And just gauging from the game info page, Miami basically can't sustain offense. Down 3 scores, inside 6 minutes? Pretty much over, and looking good for the under... Just a friendly PSA, remember, no early game tomorrow.
  2. octopi, ocelots, and orangutans
  3. The comment I heard is that there may well be many people who subscribe...maybe binge a few things...then cancel before the month expires. Accuweather snow forecast for Buffalo is 2-3 feet, with about 3/4 of an inch, to an inch per hour, starting late tonight, and continuing through Monday afternoon, but not as heavy Monday.
  4. And Flacco gets steamrolled again. He doesn't deserve that, for sure. Yeah...other than the game-breaker then back-breaker pick 6's...Texans defense holds Browns to less than 3 yards per rush. Throw in 4 sacks of Flacco, and the picks were practically inevitable. Back to basketball. HECK NO, I'm not buying even a single month of Peacock. NBC's seeing if they can get us to buy it. The days of mostly-free football are likely numbered, but I'm not going to help kill them.
  5. BACK to BACK!!! Clock strikes midnight for Flacco. Boom shakalaka, 38-14 Texans suddenly!
  6. Ah, yes. When you read the listings in HD, the extra DCs do get included. You must also have set it to a weapon, so it shows Weapon +N DC. If the maneuver's an empty hand maneuver, you'll see the damage from STR.
  7. Oh my... Couple hours til game time, the NBC guys are out on the field at Arrowhead... the FROZEN!!! field...with ice and snow still on it...and every breath, every word spoken making a cloud. It's going to be utterly miserable. Meanwhile, so far so good in Houston...
  8. Yeah, I remember that too. But they didn't disappear, IMO, they just pulled back until times were more favorable...and diversified into multiple 'causes.'
  9. GA, I don't think you broke any laws...but ChatGPT probably is. The rules are copyrighted. HD is copyrighted. I doubt ChatGPT has permission. Also, in at leas the skills...it's moronic and, I think in several cases, WRONG. There's also no consideration whatsoever for END, and some of these will *burn through* END. Others...how does 15m Teleport with just x4 Mass come out to 75 points? Several others look wrong...and I think the entire package is wrong. This: Illusion (Sight, Hearing, Touch) 8d6 (40 points), Area Effect (2m Radius; +1/4) (10 points), Constant (+1/2) (20 points), Selective (+1/4) (10 points), Uncontrolled (+1/2) (20 points), No Range (-1/2) (-10 points). Total: 90 points. No Range is completely mis-applied; I'm not even sure WHAT it's being applied to. I think getting the ideas for powers...that's interesting. But its use of copyrighted material is not, and its *gross* mistakes render it useless. Note that there's already some major players suing the AI companies for using copyrighted material to train their AI models without permission.
  10. UMA, or Hero System Martial Arts. I believe there are some differences WRT killing damage since UMA is 5E. It works out. These aren't quite the same as CSLs, so the cost structure's a bit different. The CSLs can be shifted around; the bonuses from a martial maneuver can't be. Also note that you've got to buy a decent package of maneuvers...rather than (for example) 3 point CSLs with HTH with, say, empty hand, an HA (staff), and an HKA (sword)...they have to be 3 point CSLs to shift em around. Or heck, empty hand HTH and a pistol. If you buy 4 CSLs, 12 points, you've got +2 OCV and +2 DCV....or +2 DCs...or all kinds of things in between. Martial arts tends to fit better when --you want to notably increase your damage output by buying additional DCs, and/or high-damage moves like Offensive Strike (as opposed to increasing STR, or buying an HA) --you want special maneuvers...grab, disarm, escape, attacks integrating movement. And remember, you've got to buy 10 points worth of maneuvers, which may well have overlap.
  11. If you think 1998 makes you old, you're not old. Me? A line in a book..."I'm not blond!" "Well, you are blond-ish..." got me thinking of Blondie and Debbie Harry. What SHOCKED me is...she's 78. The first Blondie album was released when she was almost 30. In 1974. I suspect a factor here...had to get a root canal Thursday. The endodontist likes oldies, so he had on a Pandora or Spotify, sounded like. His assistant was a 20-something, so he was talking about the various songs. Me...of course I knew them all. <sigh> Hehe...one of em was Mrs. Robinson. The assistant didn't recognize the artists...commented she'd never heard of Simon and Garfunkel. Nothing was going on right at that moment, so I could lean my head up, and glare at her. Most amusing.
  12. To me, a pinnacle program is, as it suggests, at the top, from a coaching perspective. We know the ladder...small school in a secondary conference, then better school in a secondary conference, then power conference. And atop that ladder, are the handful of schools with great programs, prestige, and track records over an extended period. Still have to keep Alabama for now. Yes, this may change, but figure...3 losses *one time* since 2008. Plus the historical record...there are very few poor seasons. There are few others...Ohio State, yes, but Michigan, no. Clemson, definitely not; they've been near the top since '15 but before then, mediocre overall. Georgia? 1st tier...but not pinnacle. Oklahoma...I don't think so, but the prestige is still there. I think we're likely to see more runs at/near the top, like Clemson recently, or Miami for a while. Florida State probably pushed to pinnacle by the late 90s...87-2000, never lower than 4th...but they slipped considerably right after that. The transfer portal means dynasties are *much* harder to maintain, IMO. And the massive realignment and the 12 team playoffs...it'll be a completely different landscape now.
  13. Q: Is that Jeremy? A: I don't care what it costs, it's disgusting!!!!
  14. And that didn't take long either. Kaleb DeBoer decides... a) It's time for a BIG raise. (Mind...$4.2M from Washington...but figure that gets doubled, minimum.) b) It's likely, overall, that Washington's going to have a rather tougher time in the Big 10. That said, there are no more than a handful of true, pinnacle programs in college football now, IMO. Alabama's one of them.
  15. The down and dirty: https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4405833-court-says-trump-owes-new-york-times-nearly-400k-in-legal-fees/
  16. I don't think we can ignore the fact that hiring Mayo, who is already under contract, means Kraft doesn't have to go through the normal search process.
  17. Well, even if you down-value the Niners a bit, you still have to ask...who's gonna beat em? I don't trust the Lions that much; I trust everyone below them even less. So...Dallas? <SHUDDER> But Dallas on the road isn't the same team. Huh...probably a good thing Mayo's a defensive-oriented coach, or the Pats under Mayo would only run a spread offense............ I'll see myself out....
  18. Kelvin. This is KC, after all. EDIT: well...that, and the fact that since this is the Peacock-only game, I feel rather frozen out from it.....
  19. And now there's a class action suit filed against Boeing on behalf of the passengers on the flight. It was only a matter of when. There's also serious allegations here: https://www.npr.org/2024/01/12/1223936777/a-recent-lawsuit-alleges-excessive-defects-at-boeing-parts-supplier
  20. Good reason to take the under, which is 43.5 right now.
