  3. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The Go-Go Power Rangers. (Just think of the power rangers doing a sexy dance in a cage, and I suspect you'll want to remove the image ASAP.)
  4. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares My brother did once run a Call of Cthulhu adventure where the PCs had to save the Hundred Acre Woods from the depredations of Heffalumphs and Woozles. PM jkwleisemann for the detaikls if you want to hear more, though this was a long time ago.
  5. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares I actually once thought of a story involving a puppet kicking criminal keister.

  9. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Nice tool. Kinda needs an art program to tamper with the image, though. But that's how it is for all portrait generators. And that's my Reinard character, with some major MS Paint Tampering, for the DCAU.
  10. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Headcold HERO
  11. Re: Mask the Cursed I hadn't thought to use a cat appearance. I'll admit raccoons seemed more interesting. In my experience, cat's aren't really theives so much as bums anyway. But then, we already went over that my experience is pretty much invalid anyway.
  12. Re: Mask the Cursed I want to go forth saying that there are some very good points. And some places where I must explain. Any reactions are explanation, not defensiveness. I just want to get that out of the way. I stayed fairly conservative with the stats because it's Fantasy Hero, and I wanted to work within the normal Fantasy Hero Parameters. Admittedly, I do not know much about Fantasy Hero as for a long time, I thought Hero System was only good for Champions I considerred more, but I only had so many points and I wanted to fit the Playable character guideline
  13. Re: Coon the Cursed Okay guys. I am sorry about my ignorance. I made the change hours ago today. Now may I ask a favor of you guys? Can we please move on? Or at least tell me how an author can remove a thread the author has started so as to get the whole deal over with, period?
  14. Re: Coon the Cursed I was looking for mechanical suggestions... What I honestly beleived I had gotten was being called a Racist. I am sorry for defending myself from what seemed to me like an attack. Now. Can we please move on?
  15. Re: Coon the Cursed The change was finally made once my brother found an okay alternative. If I were able to change the name of the thread, I would, but I don't think it's possible. Hopefully, we should be able to move on to other concerns.
  16. Re: Coon the Cursed Okay. I finally changed to a different name. One that sucks, but at least we won't have to worry now about complaints because of the [insert any string of profanities you please] Redneck South.
  17. Re: Coon the Cursed Okay. Let me explain something. First off, YP (as used by braincraft) and "Capt N-Word" (by Eosin) are straw men. Seriously, they are. Let me explain why: The N-word only has one meaning, and it's a racist meaning. Same for YP. There are no non-racist meanings for those. Furthermore, there is literally no logical reason to give such characters those names. Coon, on the other hand, is obviously referring to a raccoon. The only thing black about a raccoon is a few tail rings and a "mask" around the eyes. That is nothing to draw a racist connection on unless you
  18. Re: Coon the Cursed Okay. Let's take on the reasons for a name change. Silliness: Actualy intentional. Although the background may be tragic (a common cliche of the S&S subgenre, as well as all fiction), we are talking about a character in a Sword & Sorcery parody. Offensiveness: Two points. One: It could be that I live in a small town, but I have never heard "Coon" used as a racial slur. I have only ever heard the term referring to an animal called the raccoon. Is such a coloquial term then racist? If so, then Maine Coon (a cat breed) must also then be a racial slu
  19. Re: Coon the Cursed A Typographical error of "Humanoid"
  20. Re: Coon the Cursed Any suggestions aside from "Don't do my own formatting of the text"?
  21. This character is intended primarily as a character for a series of stories. He is not yet fully developed as a character, as that will have to be handled by actually writing the stories. This is also my first attempt at a Fantasy Hero Character. 22. Re: Did the CCA create the Silver Age? Good Question. I'd say a bit of both. The Iron Age tactics of today are certainly ruining many of today's comics, however, the Silver age also had a lot of tripe as well in the form of utter goofiness that some folks today would say is drug-induced (the android Captain Marvel). Thus demonstrating that Bad writers are just plain bad. So, how to spell this out? Well, Good Writers are good, and they can really shine when presented with a challenge like the Comics Code. Just my two-bits worth.
  23. Re: Odd Thought: Pulp meets Pulp Fantasy I was thinking more like Pulp Era Conan. Taking the horror and supernatural elements of Robert E. Howard's stories and putting them into the Pulp Era itself (or, alternately, creating a full-fledged fantasy world that is currently in what we'd see as the Pulp Era, with conventions from Hoeward's and Leiber's writing.)
  24. Re: Bran Mak Morn Not complaining. Though in truth, he'd be literally unplayable in a Heroic game anyways. Too many points needed.
