Re: The Super Darwin Awards I can see Paranoia games having Darwin Potential, but probably not winning as most players will try to get their characters killed. That's part of the game's point. Call of Cthulhu, however, may or may not have Darwin potential depending on just how stupid the characters are when they get kacked. Not being able to retreat from Cthulhu in time would not count. Of course, calling Cthulhu a wim and taking him on in a one-on-one match with anything less than some Rifts-level Mega Damage weapons (anything less... = any weapon or handy object) would certainly qualify, if it was funny enough. And if he managed to survive, then he ought to thank the GM for cheating so flagrantly in his favor and sacrificing all the versimilitude in the world.

Just out of curiosity, how would you build something like this? A character associated with death has a limited pool of "Death Energy" which he may renew by taking this energy away from the dying (read, "healing"). This is just a matter of curiosity.

Lab Rat would try to find out who was behind it, and if it was some guy who only planned to make it work on bad folks, maybe congratulate the guy for a good job at making the job easier for the cops. If it is some guy only testing it on the crooks, and then planning to use it on heroes, there will be a problem as Lab Rat will have to fight this villain. Sonic Eagle would probaby get complacent until he starts noticing that the heroes are also getting affected by this. Then he might do something as it actually becomes a serious concern. Kitsune would take great amusement in this. Reinard the Fox would find this oddly familiar at first, but then he would investigate these happenings. Afterall, this is too much in too little time. He wouldn't be surprised if Lyle Lynx had something to do with this, given how cartoony such a scheme like this would be.

Re: The Super Darwin Awards I apologize to those offended by my statement of Rolemaster. I personally prefer more cinematic games, with less in the way of complications that get in the way of a good game. If it is any consolation, I found HARP (a simplified version of RM) to be a much better game, actually consolidating some of the modifiers (though the fact that virtually every action is either nearly impossible or horrifically modified still gets to me.)
