That's a nifty outfit. Strikes me that if you switched gold to red and removed the fleur, she could switch allegiance and be La Guillotine!

In Champions terms, I always figured he has more complications than just about anybody else, too. The above mentioned kryptonite and magic vulnerability, red sunlight reduces his strength to normal, codes against killing or even lying, a long list of dependants constantly getting in trouble, the world's media obsessed with trying to figure out his secret identity, and hunted by a lengthy list of powerful foes, including some with immense resources (Darkseid). Basically, every supervillain in the world, the galaxy even, wants to make a name for himself as 'the guy (or gal) who took down Superman.' In the DCAU, they made it so that he was bulletproof but not totally invulnerable. He would often be knocked back/out early in a fight, giving his teammates a chance to shine.

Problem solved!

At some point are they going to let the great unwashed masses actually see the contents of TPP? You just know it's gotta be good for us when they conceal it for this long.

Makes me think she's not all bad if she has a furry buddy. . .

New to me! Interesting stuff. Who can forget the famous ish where Batman willingly enters a sharktank deathtrap to save an innocent from the Joker? A lot of super rpgs recommend that players should get a little extra 'oomph' for letting their characters be placed in captivity - information, equipment, unexpected allies, experience points, and/or heroic action points. An exchange of current discomfort for future whoop-ass!

Arena ARENA GAMES: General Discussion (Season 3)

I've noticed that this season the matches are much closer total point wise. It's actually rare to have a difference of more than 5. -

I noticed Steve's roster is 100% attractive females, so I guess he had no choice in the matter! -
I'll have to dig up my copy - seems like an update would do very well as a Kickstarter. Can someone remind me, there were some follow-up publications set in San Angelo?

What is the statistical average of 3D6? 10.5? You're golden. I otoh, analyzed my D12 rolls last season and the results were outstandingly depressing. -
PS - I think they need at least one cheerleader!

Stiff-Arm, NYRVB's Full-back, does in fact have a prosthetic arm, but this is no ordinary appendage. Found in the medlab of an abandoned alien starship, the Arm can absorb and project back kinetic energy - the faster someone is going, the more damage is inflicted. The Arm maintains a psychic link with its owner - it can detach, walk on extended fingers, and trip or throttle anyone who gets in Stiff-Arm's way!

The losses described here are tough. My own: 22 years ago today my mother was killed in a freak accident, a flash flood on her way home from work. Taken too soon, vanished from my life. I've thought of her practically every day since. She was kind, intelligent and full of whimsy. The kicker is that my father once told me that in a sense, she predicted this event. To him, she expressed her belief she would not have a long life. I don't know that I believe in prophecy, but I do wonder.

Ancient Greeks, passionate priestesses, dinos and cranky robots! Love it!! -
I just love the phrase 'small, slimy and gruesome.' Slime's illustration I think is one of the best of any edition of Champions - it, uh, drips personality.

Aaron Allston's Strike Force for 6E is Happening!
CaptnStrawberry replied to Susano's topic in Champions
Watch it, Liaden might be working undercover for Game Supplement Vice! On a more serious note, is there a possibility of an in memoriam page for Mr. Allston? It appears that with so much material space will be at a premium, but of course his contributions to Hero and role-playing in general are unsurpassed. -

I tend toward cynicism, but in this case believe that a tiny minority of conspiracy minded bigots do nothing but compose vitriol in the morning and spew it on every news service they can throughout the day. Noise out of all proportion to their actual numbers.

Despite the Hendrix reference, I look at that list of complications and think 'The supervillain formerly known as Prince'!

Man, I wish I had been there! I lost most of my old D&D modules in a basement flood; I can either find used copies or buy what are (apparently) poor quality scans from dndclassics. Keep was my first adventure too, iirc, as DM and player. No story whatsoever, but the novelty of the new medium and the sense of discovery as you explored the Caves is a cherished memory.

Arena ARENA GAMES: General Discussion (Season 3)

Oh man, I might have reconsidered sitting out if I had known this. Sure one d10 might still be evil, but the other one would be saintly and balance things out.
