  1. Re: [sTAR WARS] It is my turn now. If this works you rock, Here are those two exported files. Apparently you rock.
  2. Re: [sTAR WARS] It is my turn now. By the way I welcome comments. Up next will be the Force and vehicles.
  3. Re: [sTAR WARS] It is my turn now. I'm a ittle frustrated that the two column export .RTF from the HD progam is an invalid file for attatching here. When it comes to vehicles and characters later on, I'll use HTML files.
  4. Re: [sTAR WARS] It is my turn now. Jedi arts and some weapons.
  5. So four years after I promised to post my Jedi Arts Lightsaber styles and never did, here we go. But I figured over the next month or so I could post my whole game system up here. I'll also one of these days include all of my HD files on that page, for your HD3 pleasure.
  6. Re: Matriarchial Societies There used to be many if not mainly Matrilineal societies. Most Hunter Gather societies are Matrilineal. Patriarcy became dominant only after the Domestication of Live stock. In a Hunter gather and small scale agricultural society the women tended towards gathering which meant that they collected around 85% of the food. Men as hunters were quite successful if they collected 15% of the sustanence. It is very difficult to enslave the people that supply and process 85% of your survival. It has been said that we are the only species that subjegate our mothers. In only a very few Native american groups were truly Patrileneal (In the North west U.S., and mexico/south america, in both places there was often a great deal of surplus and a more defined sense of private property). In most the war and hunter chiefs were male. However they were almost entirely subject to the will of their people and in the case of the Iroquios confederation (and others) the women of thier tribal group. Women in Europe, Asia and Africa developed agriculture and may have even began the first live stock domestication as pack animals. When both of these things occure on a large scale, suddenly there was surplus, a thing all but unheard of in a Hunter Gather group. This surplus allowed men to come home and stop hunting. Suddenly a family could support 8+ children instead of 2 or 3 at the most. Ok so now women are busy being pregnant and men take over agriculture and livestock. The women become isolated child barers, thus we have the begining of our modern Patriarchy. It wasn't always like this, when men became incharge of the surplus the world changed. Religions stopped being about fertilty and those goddesses became demons. The major modern religions sprang up and were formed by men to maintain this new social order. For the last 5,000 years in the old world men have literally subjigated our mothers and our socials mors are all geared toward maintaining these social institutions. For ideas about real machriarchal societies look up Native American Groups, the Iroquois in particular. They had a "King" but the women in his life were the true power behind his thrown.
  7. Re: Lightsabre Combat! Hmmm, I apparently never caught my breath and editted my work. I did but I printed the work I did up then promptly lost the floppy the work was on. So let me try to find the print up and try to transcribe it back into word and post it.
  8. Re: The use of accents/voices in your game
  9. Re: My group site... Wikis are very cool. The coding is easy, if a nitwit like me can do it than anyone can. I ran the Starwars and will be running the creation game.
  10. I figured I put this up. It's beem a long while since I've been here. This is the Wiki my group uses for our Roleplaying updates and Data storage. The art is cribbed until we can get some original, we mean no harm and will remove anything if asked the content is out our own. The Fantasy world is under any link that has the word creation in it. http://editthis.info/kotuswiki/Main_Page Enjoy, or don;t, poke fun and critique, I don't care should be fun.
  11. Re: What are _____ like in your game? Eh, ny next game is going to be a world set in the tradition of D&D, paired down and aimed more at roleplaying then Dundgeon Crawling. I've Humans, Dwarves and Elves; all very similar to there D&D equilvilant, except that they have their own history. In terms of "Evil" races there is only the Orn. They are varied in size and culture but they are all simply befouled Humans, Elves or Dwarves from the rule of the Dragon-God. I've several players who never played classic D&D so I'm going back to my roots, hopefully with a touch of maturity and experience.
  12. Re: My Ferris Bueller Writeup. His sister could be a rivalry...
  13. Re: My Ferris Bueller Writeup. Couldn't not having a car be a Social Limitation? I like the write up, it's very much in Ferris's spirit.
  14. Re: Slightly Less Powerful DNPCs in Champions As a GM i'd more consider iolas more of a follower than a DNPC...
  15. Re: SPD Standards Pretty sure only the dice that determine body spread.
  16. Re: SPD Standards Yeah I'm a fan of scaling back speeds. I like starting Thing and Hulk at 3...so as has been said, spidey can easily be 5-6.
  17. Re: Older HERO rules in 5E games I'm not a hard core realist, but I've heard such contrary reports on the accuracy of autofire weapons, that even 3 round bursts can negativly impact accuracy, let alone full auto. I've know soldiers who prefered to use single shot rifles, their more accurate and save ammo (Note Im not a soldier)...I'm sorry I don't want to thread Jack. I like the 4th edition Damage shields.
  18. Re: Character: Conan the Cimmerian Yeah yeh, i'm a fan of your work, between your written work and your website.
  19. Re: Character: Conan the Cimmerian Look at Susano showing off again.
  20. Re: Is Hero too preditable? I'm sure how predictablity is a deterent to roleplaying. Considering that players spend points on these abilities a little predictability is a bonus. Besides if you want randomness gamble, go to vegas. Sorry for the dig but it seems like a very odd complaint. In regards to PC doing the same thing over and over again, well that sounds like the PC is predictable, the system has little to do with that.
  21. Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender Beauty of the herosystem, a dozen ways to do the same thing.
  22. Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender Well I'd call make Bending a Power Skill (then a 3 pt knowledge skill for each element). Then I'd make every ability they aquire a 1 pt KS. The GM can design some basic power ideas for each power. Then the pc can create their own powers there after. The Names, special effect and Limitations will all enforce the idea that the powers come from their Martial Arts. I'd power the powers with the afforementioned End Pool, and charge x2 their personal end if they exhaust the end pool. This would allow for interesting dual element powers too, on the flyeven if the GM is so inclined to allow such things. Imagine Magma gouts or true Ice Storms (for the avatar of course).
  23. Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender I do everthing in hero, this would be an interesting sand box to play in. The real question is do you do it as a heroic campaign or a superheroic campaign. In the earlier I'd run them as martial artist with spells and use a end pool with all of the powers bought as knowledge skills. That's how I like games these days, I can inject a lot of flavor with hero like this. In the later they'd be 250 pts characters.
  24. Re: "Finally a game where you can kill the fodder, just like in the movies." Well if Mooks are a big part of your game, create the Mook Disad, vulerability: x2 stun and/or body from all attacks by a PC or other main character (for good guy mooks). This plus sweeping and other manuevers and talents will get you killing off gaggles of mooks in no time flat.
  25. Re: Knockback I actually like KB as it stands. By the way Martial Arts tends not to do so much KB, the exta d6 tends to kill most of that. I like that in brick fights people go flying around, I like it even more when someone, NPC or PC goes flying when a troll whacks them with that log.
