  1. Re: Strength Cost: 1 point or 2 I don't care either way. When I run games, I leave it at 1 for 1. That's me, everyone needs to make up their own minds. I like it as an optional rule as opposed to an official change.
  2. Re: Your "2005" Pet Gaming Projects Starwars...nuff said.
  3. Re: Monofilament Blade Day late and a dollar short on calling out that refrence....
  4. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox ::Bump:: School and finals are over I can get back to work on this...However the disc with all of my docs seems to have gone missing, lame. I'm workin' on finding it.
  5. Re: Missing SW-Brand Mono-Climates I've never had a problem thinking of starwars without the science, it never broke my suspension of disbelief. I just smile and enjoy it's quaint charm, and love the fact that I'm riding a tauntaun on an Ice planet, swinging a sword made out of light and flying around in ship that bank and go WHOOOOSH in a vacuum. If you can't do that, then change it in your game. In my little corner of this galaxy far far away though we love it as is. Geonosis: Arizona like desert. Kamino: ocean world. They aren't all one eco system: Naboo had mild swanps, Lake lands, Forrests, Mountains and grassy plains. It simply got more exposition.
  6. Re: Demigod of Everything As far as symbols go, how about: An empty hands, held up in peace, Or since he's on a mountain top, what about the Plum Blossom which can flourish in the cold of winter, like enlightenment illuminates ignorance.
  7. Re: Demigod of Everything He's much like Shinsei from L5R... Perhaps it's more of a state of being that's passed from one mortal coil to another. There is always one mortal in the world some where that has all or is even wiser then all of the gods in existence. Perhaps the forces that created everything made sure there was this little check in place to keep the gods in line. So this is the essence and enlightnement of the Prime Factor, it finds it's way to a new soul every several generations or so. Always at peace, always learning and always calmly waiting to be needed. This also makes it so the Demi-god could be male or female depending upon which incarnation it chose this time. It's not worshipped persey, but everytime the mortal world is on the verge of cataclysm some nameless ageless sage or monk appears with all of the answers.
  8. Re: I'm Looking for thoughts on Distinctive features and Invisibility. You will note, Supreme, that I realized and mentioned that in my last post. Still what happens if the power to conceal is developed after the inception of the character, GM judgement I suppose. I'd probably make the PC buy down the disad.
  9. Re: I'm Looking for thoughts on Distinctive features and Invisibility. I have to admit though, the sith example is different context then the Horned character. What if you bought the Invisibilty some time after creating the or buying the power???
  10. Re: I'm Looking for thoughts on Distinctive features and Invisibility. So if you have a 3 foot horn coming out of your head, ussually a non-concealable disad, and you had Invisibility, it would be a concealable with major effort disad? I can buy that, it's just got me thinking that's all. As to whether or not it's a sith only power, well that's for another thread.
  11. For my StarWars conversions, in another thread,http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30536, I'm running inot a little issue. In modeling the Sith's ability to hide their presence I decided invisibility is the right choose, for obovious reasons. It'll be simply that they'll make their force attuned nature invisible. Force Attuned comes with a Distincive feature (convieniently enough) called force attuned. This feature can only be sensed through a special sense, "Detect force". If I make the Distinct feature non-disguiseable, would that imply that you couldn't make it invisible, or does the power over ride the disad. Or should I simply say that it's disguisable with MAJOR effort.... Thoughts????
  12. Re: Stat Inflation I'm the GM, erol flyn doesn't get to have a 20str, Conan does get to have a 23str...PERIOD. Arguing gets you the look, continue to argue and you get the hook (rhym not intended, but all the same fun).
  13. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox My speed substitute will be in my next update coming somewhere between tonight and wednsday. I already have the new combat and adventuring rules down and most of the advanced power templates down. I'll do a short equipment list (in a Jedi campaign I don't need 32 different blasters), and hopefully I'll of worked out the character packages (Jedi knights, at apprentices and Knight levels, as well as Krath, and Sith for those playing pre-epVI) and how many points I'll build characters on; I'm currently leaning towards 150 for Padawans and 200 for Kinghts (as my group likes to have PC's being Knights/masters and others being their padawan). There are also many revisions as play testing has proven little tweeks were needed here and there. As for my Hero philosophy. You'll notice I do full write ups of everything, inspite of the fact that the PC's don't pay full price for everything, here they pay for a skill then one point for access to the power and ability to create variations on the fly. It's still hero it's just that the Players interface with the system differently now. I use hero to create systems, not just straight out of the box. It's fun for me and allows for a large amount of variance in the style and feel of the game. Plus now Jedi and non-Jedi sould actually work in the same game at the same cost (or atleast close to the same cost). Trobon, the avld's do stun only, last I remember anyways. It takes Does Body (+1) to do body with either NNDs or AVLDs. I trust, I'll be corrected by someone else if my interpratation of the rules is wrong on this account. As to whether or not I use frame works, , the word documents answer that question and the next version coming will be 98% the same, just some minor tweaks here and there. Oh yes, and the next update will have all of the documents combined into one "..fully armed and operational" word document.
  14. Re: light saber color signification By Trobon: "Official Word from Lucas was blue is for Knights/Padawans Green is for Masters and Red is for Dark Jedi. Therory was that purple was for Form VII Masters." That's not true, firstly, look at the scene in epII with yoda and the younglings, equal numbers of blue and green sabers amongst the little kids. Obi-wan, a master, uses a blue lightsaber. Several other Council members use the blue swords as well. Besides, green came about do to the Blue saber not showing well against a blue sky will Rotoscoping in Return of the Jedi. Blue/Green/Purple mean good, Red means evil.
  15. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox Bump
  16. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox Or not, it's an easy, smooth, representation of how the force is used in by characters to make things easier and show the high level of competeny they have. Its very fluid and very easy to use, especially in this write up. Some systems are on to things and I don't mind borrowing and re-envisioning when it's appropriate (same with breaking up force powers into 3 easily definable groups). I'm sure there are other ways for some one to "Use the force", but since all that does is make them better at whatever task they are doing, levels seem the best bet. I'm sorry you don't like it, it would have been nice if you'd stated that with out the hissy fit though. I'd then atleast care to elaberate further into my reasoning, but what are you going to do .
  17. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox Coming soon, Combat and Adventure as well as Package deals and a revision of the basic force powers. Edit, you know these are actually word docs, is there a way to upload them in that format.
  18. Re: Clone Wars Jedi. The Emperor does do some cool shit in the Senate scene....::spoiler:: He gets owned for the most part though.....
  19. Re: Modifed Ego Hugh is right. +1 to all science skills is a 3pt level, +1 to all Int skills is a 5pt level, +1 ocv to Punch, Grab and Block is a 3pt level as is +1 ocv to all Martial Arts.
  20. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox Thanks guys I will be on it soon..
  21. Re: Clone Wars Jedi. Yoda was also TIRED after lifting the Xwing and the pillar (epII). I see what your' saying I just don't think SttarWars Ball Z, is right for Star Wars.
  22. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox Next time Jedi Package deals and campaign rules.
  23. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox Just for fun. LightSaber: Hand killing Attack (Energy): 2.5d6 ALVD (Combat Luck, +1 1/2), Does Body (+1), Reduced end (0end, +1/2) (160 Active points), OAF (-1), Independant (-2), Has no effect on energy shielding (-1/2), No Knockback (-1/2), -1 stunX (-1/2), No Strength to damage (-1/2), Str min (6, -1/2), real weapon (-1/4)....Real points: 24 The only way to add damage is through Martial arts DC's (individual ones will cost 6pts/DC). This is to avoid an explosion in hand to hand damage.
  24. Re: Another: StarWars in my Sandbox Here are the Word docs with everything to date plus a few revisions, more stuff and revisions to come.
  25. Please respond as you wish. Please pardon typo's I'm finishing this at 4 in the a.m. here in San Diego.
