  1. I assume it's simply a Limited Power effect to have, say, a defense power that immediately turns off if a particular Special Effect hits it? For example, a Barkskin power that is immediately dispelled when subjected to a Fire based attack? If I wanted to give an attack Armor Piercing, I assume the cleanest way would be to build it in two halves, and have the second half just not apply to that Special Effect? Thank you for all you do on here!
  2. I'm trying to build a power to represent the character animating a tree just long enough for it to hit someone next to it. I assume that a Blast with Indirect and a limitation of 'target must be adjacent to a tree' is sufficient? Which level of Indirect should be paid for? Source other than character and it can change with each use? And let the limitation deal with the fact that it cannot be from just anywhere? Thanks for any answers!
  3. I'm a bit fuzzy on how Combined Attacks work, so I thought I'd ask some questions. A) If I have a Mentalist that has Mind Control not in a power framework and a Mind Blast in a power framework, can I use them together in a Combined Attack? If I have an AoE attack and a non-AoE attack, can I use them together in a Combined Attack, assuming I have a single target? Due to using an AoE attack, is the only legal target a space? If I can target a character, due to having only one attack roll, I would assume the AoE attack has to be against the DCV of the target. Thank you for any help!
  4. Hello. I'm trying to build a character that has, in essence, a power suit that takes extra time to get in. Is it fair to apply the Extra Time to Activate Limitation to all stats acquired via wearing the suit if it takes Extra Time to put it on, but not to activate each individual power? Would it be recommended to use Real Armor instead? And would either limitation also apply to a Power Framework of attacks granted by the Focus? Thank you!
  5. Steve, Further questions about simplified Healing. Your answer only makes sense to me if it's supposed to be read that the halving only applies to the maximum you can heal. If it applies to the effect roll as well, I'm concerned. If I don't use simplified healing, and I'm healing body, here's what I get for healing amounts: 1 - 1 2 - 1 3 - 2 4 - 2 5 - 3 6 - 3 This implies to me that the maximum healing should be 3 per die. If I use Simplified Healing (without halving the effect roll), I would get: 1 - 0 2-5 - 1 6 - 2 This implies to me that the maximum healing should be 2 per die, but if I use the maximum as rolled, it would be 6. Half of 6 would be 3, so that makes sense that the maximum should be halved. If I use simplified healing or not,, healing Stun is the same. Just use the number rolled on the die. The maximum should, also, therefore, be the maximum I can roll on the die, regardless of method used. So, I guess my question is, do I halve the calculated effect of the Simplified Healing rule? Do I halve the maxima for both STUN and BODY recovery? Do I halve the maxima for only BODY recovery? Examples: 4d6 Heal STUN. Maximum effect roll: 24. Maximum CP effect: 12. Maximum STUN recovery 24. 4d6 Heal STUN Simplified Healing. Maximum effect roll: 24. Maximum STUN recovery: 24? or 12? 4d6 Heal BODY. Maximum effect roll: 24. Maximum CP effect: 12. Maximum BODY recovery: 12. 4d6 Heal BODY Simplified Healing. Maximum BODY roll: 8. Maximum BODY recovery: 8? 12? Thanks for reading.
  6. If I have a power that is instant but has an ongoing effect, such as Flash, in a Power Framework, and I switch the Framework slot, does the effect of the power turn off? Technically, Mind Control is in the same boat, as well as Drain. Does the answer change in any of these cases? Likewise, if I have a Constant Drain Power and I switch it, does all the drainage go away, or just the continually ticking Drain Effect? Thank you for any answers!
  7. Understood on my previous question, and I appreciate it. Now a question specifically on Hardened. The rules state that a defense must be all Hardened or not Hardened. Does this mean that a character's total PD, for example, must be Hardened? Or does it mean that any given defense power must be Hardened? So, for example, my character, Yang, has 20 PD from his characteristics block and a power that gives him 10 rPD. Can I Harden just the rPD, or do I have to Harden all of his PD? Thanks for the answers!
  8. I have a question about how Hardened and Resistant Defenses stack, cost wise. The book has resistant protection costing 3 CP/2 points of defense. Hardened is a +.25 modifier. However, resistant as a modifier is +0.5. So, which calculation for 20 Hardened rPD is correct: (A) 20 rPD*1.5=30 base cost*1.25 (Hardened)=37 Active Cost OR ( 20 PD=20 base cost*[1+.5 (Resistant)+.25 (Hardened)]=35 Active Cost? Thank you for any answers.
