  1. Re: Seductive combatant powers? Girls Gone While Lass is awesome. Most of the powers/abilities I have seen or used along these lines come down to either some sort of Mind Control, PRE effects or mild combat modifiers.
  2. Re: Villain's Super Weapons - To Build or Not To Build? This has all been good input. I really appreciate it folks. I agree that such a weapon really doesn't need too much in the way of construction unless he's going to be slinging it at the heroes. Thanks,
  3. Re: Villain's Super Weapons - To Build or Not To Build? That was my thought but I am one of those people who always thinks that somebody is going to try to throw their character in front of it or try to harnass all the energy and in a cosmic game, there might just be characters that can do it.
  4. Hi all, I have set about finally statting up some of my cosmic-level villains and stopped when I got to a particular gent I call Tauron, the World Breaker. The problem I ran into with Tauron and then, in my head, with future villains is whether or not it is worth the time and effort (and points) to stat up their uber-weapons or if it best to just leave them as story elements. In Tauron's case, he is a stellar menace who moves through the stars ripping apsrtp lanets, not to eat them or cosume their energy but as raw materials to use in the construction of a weapon to fend off a coming cataclysmic cosmic invasion. Yes, a bit bent, but cosmic villains often are. So what are the thoughts on this? Thanks,
  5. Re: When the good cosmic being motiffs are taken LACTUS, Grazer of Worlds
  6. Re: When the good cosmic being motiffs are taken Completely reseting reality, it's THE INITIALIZER!!! Uninterested in anything in the universe, it's THE IGNORER!!! Assigning travel ratings throughout the cosmos, it's KRITEEK... And when a world becomes tarnished and in need of cleaning, all tremble before the might of WAXXON.
  7. Re: Brainstorming a mystical superhero mansion Sorry to chime in so late and this may have already been mentioned, but in an old Toxic comic series called "Brats Bizarre" the heroes' mansion was serviced by a ghostly buttler who had at one time been alive but had been necesarily killed by one of the team members.
  8. Re: [Review] Galactic Champions I bought the book site unseen before this review came out. I have to agree with most of the reviewer's comments but I do have one of my own. The book seems to focus far too much on playing pretty conventional superhero teams in a Galactic setting, something Ghost Angel mentioned. It seems to pretty much completely skip over the truely grand stuff like you would find with Silver Surfer and his ilk. I'm not sure if there would be too many people who would wish to play this sort of thing, but it is a part of the genre. Powerful cosmic heroes fighting against the elemental forces of the universe have been pretty common throughout comics history. I did find the book helpful with my cosmic campaign setup, so it is a useful book if you have ever wanted to take your heroes into the cosmos. Another personal gripe was that most of the alien races seem to be pulled fro mthe Star Hero books and as such don't really seem to have that comic universe alien flare. They just come across asa bit too Space Opera.
  9. Re: Favorite Green Lantern I couldn't resist, Presenting Captin Emu turned GL. Never was there a less worthy candidate for the corps.
  10. Re: "Crumbling Carrots, we've been animal-morphitized!" Um, as he's already a humanoid emu, he'd likely be a gawky human. Seriously, though, my last character I played with any seriousness was The Mime so I was thinking possibly a Penguin?
  11. Re: Favorite Green Lantern It's Not Easy Being Green Lantern!!!
  12. Re: Brainstorming superhero team liaisons When I ran my Codename: Wildstryke game we had two laisons. American Eagle - Field Laison and tactical commander Agent Garcia - Government suit and all around bitchy boss. She had a history that tied into the common origin of all the heroes that she resented but because she was a professional and this was her big break she would back the team as best she could. She was efficient, cool, aloof, but wanted the team to succede so she coulde succede. It made for some interesting RP when one of the more free-sirited characters butted heads with her and was sure he was on his way out, only to find out that he was going to receive a degree of latitude due to his special circumstances. -CE
  13. Re: Homebrew Cosmic Setting (bit longish) Hello all, For those interested, I am going to begin doing some new work for this project. I'd appreciate any input and criticism you can throw my way (keep it civil ). I'll be having some art to post with the stats as well. It's not going to be a very frequent posting, but it will be active as I can make it with everything else going on in my life. Thanks, -CE
  14. Re: Ideas for Dino Character Though it wasn't for HERO, I did run a campaign once centered around a tribe of diminutive lizardmen in a fantasy world. For this I developed a series of Rites of Passage and a few minor "dieties". They might be useful for your cosmology. There were - The Great Mother - A mother figure that represented the nesting and home concepts The Devourer, Eater of Eggs - An Ovaraptor type devil who was repsented by an evil, yellow eye. There was also a Sun figure too and a personification of the big mega predators. As they lived near a murky swamp, there was also a creeping, lurking Deep Death figure associated with crocodillian predators. As silly as it sounds I find my kids' "Land Before Time" videos, now beign shown on Cartoon Network, are really useful for getting into the "dino" frame of mind. -CE
