If I purchase a power with the advantage Delayed Effect, my understanding of the rules it that any limitations I take on the power (such as Incantations) only affects the preparation of the power, not its use. Can I take a limitation (such as Incantations for a spell) and define it as applying when I use the power? Would I be able to take the limitation twice if it applied to both the preparation and use of the power?

This sounds very much like the Fires of Heaven setting which is apparently is a part of the project Wyrmstar package.

So I was running a Sci-Fi game in Hero the other day and one of the PCs had a scoped hunting rifle and another PC had some Binoculars. PC: A asked PC: B to act as his spotter, because that's a thing in the real world. It immediately occurred to me that Hero System does not have a mechanic for one character helping another character aim. I ended up giving the shooter an extra point of OCV for having a spotter, but I think the second player still felt pretty useless. What do you all think about spotters in game? I'm thinking of letting a character who acts as a spotter for another character use the Set maneuver and transfer the bonus to the shooter. (+1 OCV, +2 RNG MOD)

I am currently running a Fading Suns game on the Hero System. I have run just about anything on Hero in the past. The only things I feel Hero's not good for are games that are heavily tied to their game mechanics, such as Shadowrun's use of essence/force, or if it make a distinction between mental and physical characteristics like in Eclipse Phase or In Nomine. If it requires that I add characteristics or game mechanics to Hero then I'm not inclined to run it on Hero at all. I guess I'm a purist that way.

I like the idea of using Mind Control. That way drone operators can use it to try and take over other peoples drones or even other machines that work like drones.

I notice all these seem to have side effects, but I can't tell what the effect is.

I for the life of me cannot fathom why anyone sells PDFs without aslo offering print on demand. You've already done the layout work, how much effort does it take to set a POD?

Re: Where to put a victorian mansion/store front in Hudson City? Good idea. I was thinking of Mint Ridge near the park, but re-reading it's history it seems like the houses there would be to modern. Apparently Hudson City doesn't really have an old town due to fires, riots, and the fact that most of it's neighborhoods started out as separate villages that grew together.

I'm trying to find a good location for a magic/curio shop in an urban fantasy game set in Hudson City. The image I have in mind is an old victorian building in a formerly residential area turned touristy shopping place. Similar to many parts of San Francisco or other cities with an "old town". Any ideas?

Re: Undead Labor: why not? I played in a D&D game where the magical university had a cafeteria staffed by skeletons. They referred to it as being "automated".

Does the Resistant Protection power protect what a character is wearing (not carrying). What if it is bought with the "costs END" limitation, defined as a force field?

If a character aims for a specific hit location with an autofire attack, do all his attacks hit that location or only the first?

Re: THE HERO SYSTEM GRIMOIRE: What Do *You* Want To See? I'd really, really, really like to see some "Realistic Magic" spells as described in Ultimate Mystic. If not worthy of their own school, they could be a variant listed in the options section for each spell.
