  1. It’s very late and I read the title of your thread as Clerical Magic as in a magical Administrative Assistant or Office Manager. Well, if you can have a Kitchen Witch why not an Office Witch?🧙‍♀️
  2. In a number of recent interviews with the remaining actors the weight of the packs was mentioned. All three actors said they were around 40 lbs. and very difficult to wear on a long term basis or when running.
  3. You may also find some of the historical reference stuff in Space 1899 useful.
  4. I’m as loyal as an old hound dog to the HERO System and the Liberty and Justice for which it stands. But some folks haven’t been instructed in the ways of our one true religion. *coughcultcough* 😜
  5. I have nothing bad to say about G.I. Joe but if I had the option I’d rather play a S.H.I.E.L.D. or an U.N.T.I.L. game. It would be all the same set up but I’d prefer those other universes to run around in. The book itself looks like quality merchandise. Well prepared and illustrated.
  6. I think it was a statistical thing because the gaming group I started with was the M.I.T. Strategic Games Society. I had a high school GED and one year of night school college, but there I was. The S.G.S. had around 25 to 30 (If one of the two other members of that group on this board could please check my memory) members so there were occasional female players. Funny thing, the two most consistent women playing were both named Debbie and had the last initial S.
  7. MOON KNIGHT FINALE/THE BATMAN/ PICARD FINALE........(NO SPOILERS) All were good, lots of surprises.
  8. For the turtle the choices are either be a pillow or be dinner. Maybe both.
  9. I got into Champions because a girl asked me to. I was chasing after her and she was in a game and knew I was into comic books in a big way. I loved the game and stayed with it long after she and I were no more. So you’ll have to ask her what game she would have been playing ‘cause she could have asked me to try laying down in traffic and I would have said OK.
  10. My first instinct was the Frick but I kept thinking “ No, that can’t be right.”
  11. I’ve seen some fantastic shows, but they were all local bands you’ve never heard of.
  12. Ah, Scotland, Red Lobster and State Fairs. All are known for their fine cuisine.
  13. 🎼Country music today sure looks tired but it don’t look Haggard - They may have money but they don’t got Cash🎶
  14. Wasn’t he asking the spirit of his father for help in finding the man in black (Wesley) and the sword acted as a divining rod to hidden entrance to the dungeon? He got exactly what he asked for. I’m embarrassed about how long it’s been since I’ve seen the movie.
  15. I was thinking more about Red Lobster but OK. (Damn double click)
  16. And his “Happy little clouds” are their spirits leaving their bodies.
  17. You don’t microwave that you fool. You dip it in batter and deep fry it.
  18. While I believe that the original version by the Nitty-Gritty Dirt Band has more pathos and works better musically, Sammy Davis Jr. has paid the dues and made the sacrifices during his long career and life to do the bloody song any way he sees fit. Anyone interested in his fascinating life should check out the American Masters special done for PBS.
  19. The real world inspiration for the artwork for the design of Avengers Mansion back in the ‘60’s was a museum in Manhattan. I don’t remember the name off the top of my head but with some research we could find it. It’s probably still there if you want photographs.
  20. Unfortunately for us, the World & creativity in general, that seems to be what this era of potential players wants. It’s easier to stare at a screen than it is to read and easier to consume than to create. How to use one’s imagination is a skill and it’s no longer being taught or learned. New thoughts and ideas stimulate the brain into creating new neural pathways. The act of thinking pumps blood and oxygen to the brain making it a more efficient thinking machine. The mind is a muscle and theirs are not being exercised. How much of what sells in Hollywood is either adapted from other media, a continuation of an ongoing franchise or an remake of something that’s been seen before. This regurgitation of the familiar is easier for minds uncomplicated with individual thoughts to assimilate.
  21. If you don’t agree with the particular style of Govt. as written in the source material......Change it. It’s your campaign, it’s there to make you and your players happy. You are not there to recreate a faithful view of the sourcebook. Make the campaign as light or dark as you and your players desire. Don’t sweat how to make the situation bearable. To paraphrase Lord Vader “You can alter the terms of the agreement...And the source material should pray you do not alter them any further.”
  22. Damn Spellcheck! “God help us if the Ukrainian people start getting proper weapons and training.” “ I don’t think we’re allowed to believe in God.” “Oh......Then we’re screwed.”
  23. Don’t tell grandma how to suck eggs or tell an EX-COMMANDO the sound a Nazi makes when he’s stabbed in the lungs. Damn I love Christopher Lee.
  24. I always go back to the comics for inspiration. Didn’t the Hulk work with and later lead an organization like this during the Peter David “Professor Hulk” run? Also as an organization I like the Blood. It’s a nice bit of backround for a campaign. It introduces Heroes, Villians and NPC’s with interesting history’s and motivations. And if you’re running for newish players a good low impact mysterious situation to unravel. They require very little updating and with the MCU’s version of the Inhumans and Eternals there’s already a precedent for that kind of thing in the players minds.
  25. I’d never heard of V’han before this thread. I’ve been speaking generally about Superheroing in a Sci-Fi setting. But if this Empire is so Evil, why would you want to set a campaign there? It seems to me like pitching a campaign to your players where they’re heroes in Germany in the ‘30’s. It might be an interesting comic or novel but I wouldn’t want to spend my Saturday nights there.
