  1. I agree, he went WAY overboard for a TV script of the 1960’s. And In having met him for about 15 seconds in the hallway during a Worldcon he managed to prove out every rumor of being a complete A-hole. But he was first and foremost a damn genius.
  2. City on the Edge of Forever. Any number of Sci-Fi greats wrote whole novels about time travel, but Harlan Ellison set the standards for the dangers of changing history for an entire generation. I personally think every time travel story after that point from Quantum Leap to the Terminator owe a little something to it.
  3. Preach on! If you substitute “trout“ with “baseball bat” I’m right there with you.
  4. The problem with a number of the “Tell people you’re self employed or an internet blogger” type options is that you still have to show the IRS where the money came from. This is how they got Al Capone. There’s all kinds of new and only vaguely constitutional laws that let the govt. track down money trails looking for drug cartels and terrorist groups.
  5. Please forgive my inability to tolerate your complete F¥€%1#G stupidity. I have a condition. I’m finding that the I older I grow the less able to suffer fools gladly I become.
  6. It must be a company thing. Our big clients were a corporate computer service of some type. “ Tjack go from here on the MA/NH border to Manchester NH. to pick up a bunch of circuit boards and take them into downtown Boston, (during rush hour) to major Insurance company and find the IT guy. Their computers are all off line until you get there! HURRY!!!!! And a group of architects. “Tjack, go to the design group and get the revised blueprints to theIr job site on the MA/Connecticut border. The whole construction company can’t do anything until you get there! HURRY!!!! On top of our pre-scheduled runs that day. This was the job I had when my chest exploded.
  7. Doesn’t that imply that a villain could find our hero’s ID the same way?
  8. I’ve worked as a parcel messenger and one of my brothers was a cabbie. The dispatchers know where you are at ALL times. Especially now when many taxis and messenger cars have GPS to make sure the drivers are where they’re supposed to be and not screwing around on company time. Some taxis are privately owned but the medallion (the little square license plate bolted to the back of the cab) costs about as much as a small house. So it’s not really possible for a poor but honest superhero.
  9. I’m not sure but I don’t think the part with the peel will cook the same as the rest of the pieces in a baked good like this. Leading to hard half-cooked chunks in your muffin.
  10. Fiction writer, Composer, Graphic Artist. Anything where you work from home or at least alone and don’t have to account for your time as long as the work is turned in on schedule.
  11. Wasn’t Gomez originally supposed to be betrothed to Ophelia, Morticia’s older sister? Also played by Carolyn Jones she had blonde hair and had flowers growing out of her head. (If you tried to pluck one her leg would fly up)
  12. Yes I’m familiar with the original cartoons. And they were great. But for goofiness like this I like to keep SOME set of boundaries for myself so I’m trying to only count the 1960’s TV shows for all three and not any of the later movies or remakes of the series. I can see French and Gypsy (Romani?) roots for the Frumps even if I can’t think off hand of any references in the show to support it. The Addams side were at the Salem witch trials so I’ll guess an English background for them. I do remember some society lady thinking they might be related to the John Quincy Adams but Morticia shot that idea down HARD. For my own amusement much like my suppositions about the source of the Clampetts abilities I figure that the Addams family left Salem one jump ahead of the witch finders and settled in Arkham MA. All that Lovecraft stuff sounds right up their alley. I should have a Masters Degree in some nonsense course for all this work.
  13. If you don’t use protection that can lead to hoof and mouth disease.
  14. I was going to make a joke....but I got high, but I got high, but I got hiiiiigh! If you don’t know the song, it’s not funny. POSTED: Monday at 10:22 am Even if you know the song it’s not that funny.
  15. I’ve given your idea some thought, (damn, I’m bored) but I’d have to disagree. The Munster family were all originally from Northern Europe, Sam Dracula (Grandpa’s real name) and Lily were from Transylvania and all Herman’s parts were originally German. The Clampett clan however was originally Scottish. Do you remember the season of the show when the family went to Scotland so that Jed could inherit his family castle and estate? I think the Addams clan may be a closer relation. They also had abilities that were more paranormal than magical. Gomez’s branch of the family were South American but I don’t believe the Frump’s (Morticia’s maiden name) background’s were ever gone into. I say again....damn I’m bored. EDITED SEPT 29 Upon seeing the re-run again on Pluto TV the Clampett Castle was in Kent England.
  16. I didn’t see a check box for “older than dirt.”
  17. I didn’t vote because when I stopped writing up characters Heromaker was on a 3.5 disk.
  18. With all respect to whoever wrote him up for the Big Blue Book, a rusty wheel powered by a three legged hamster with a heart murmur would work better. ——————————————————————————————————————————————— One of the meanest tricks I ever pulled on my players was to go through the Asesinos with a big black marker and cross out most of their disads, up their damage and run them at the group. Some (most) of the players had all the Enemies books and couldn’t keep from using that knowledge in-game. Getting their butts handed to them by a team they thought they’d blow thru taught them to keep their minds on the game and out of the books.
  19. Remember the Maine!!!!
  20. If you look at the stats, no there’s not much difference. I was saying that the look of the DC characters drawn for that era might give Mr. R some inspiration for ideas of his own.
  21. For inspiration you may want to know that DC comics had a universe of their heroes set in Victorian times. It sprang from the mini-series Gotham by Gaslight. It shouldn’t be too hard to find some examples on the DC Fandom .com site. If you need help finding the right site let me know. EDIT I found the spot. Go to DC Fandom.com Earth 19
  22. All good suggestions, but you could go the other way. Like just calling him (Her? You didn’t say.) Mr. Lee and going with either the iconic white suit or maybe the yellow and black jumpsuit or The Master or the Priest with them them wearing either Buddhist style robes or street clothes reminiscent of them. (Think Bulletproof Monk, Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4 or Kung Fu: the series) I’ll even throw in one I’ve been saving and will never use. While watching Ne-how Kai-lan (I know I misspelled it) with my God kids I learned that the words for one, two and three in Cantonese are “ee, ahr and sooon. (rhymes with spoon) (see previous parentheses) I thought I’d love to do a Chinese mastermind character named E.R. Sun. Just to see how long it took for the players to get it. A GM has to have some fun at the players expense, right?
