  1. I'm confident I will learn what I need to in discussions with the appropriate folks.
  2. Excellent questions and suggestions, Steve! Those are some of the very questions I'm planning to answer in the new edition. The biggest challenge is getting the right author(s) in on the vision and then to write those supplements. (Ahem)
  3. Thank you, Scott. My New Years Eve spindoctor.
  4. Here is my very direct and honest reply to the above, with the caveat that funding will dictate the outcome to some degree. With that said, however... I want damn fine city and area maps for SACoH2. I want maps that are large and detailed enough to print as a poster, because, well... I want to print some as posters! I want the maps designed as vector images to facilitate this. I also want maps that can be used as snazzy-looking, hyperlinked maps on our web site. Linked to what? To our disgustingly huge and detailed Wiki. "Wait, Wiki?" You read that right.
  5. Thank you for the heads up. At this point I simply am not familiar enough with the current edition of the rules to make an informed decision, so my inclination is to go with: 1) What the Hero Games license requires (if it requires one over the other) 2) The preference of the impeccable Steven Long. 3) Any overwhelming and obvious will of the fans 4) The preference of my 6E character writeup creator person. 5) My gut. ...in that order.
  6. Thank you very much. We create books for love of the game and love of the genre, but in the end, it's you, the fans, who keep us going.
  7. Why, thank you! I'm on it. I'm adding some additional flavor text in the books, where space allows, but also in the new Wiki. Good call! That is actually going to be the focus of the website when it's finished.
  8. There are many ways to incorporate radio stations into your superhero game. Characters can receive foreshadowing or news reports after the fact, they can be questioned by reporters after an incident, or interviewed in-studio. Now, for the first time, we share the unique logos for the radio stations in San Angelo: City of Heroes! Enjoy!
  9. Of course! Wait 'til you see what's happened to the old guard, as well. Remember Twister? Corona? Azteca? And how about those normals? Benjamin Morgan, Thaddeus Long, and Harvey Waltrip... darn near everyone is getting an update. Who's Harvey Waltrip? He's the 44-year-old homeless man who was quoted in the book. Wait until you see what he's doing now. "Where Are They Now?" will be its own chapter. Heck, maybe even it's own supplement! We'll have plenty of new blood, as well. The Justice Foundation is going to have a different (yet familiar) feel to it.
  10. Ilan played in our local Champions game ages ago. He's a great guy.
  11. In the San Angelo Universe (SAU?) we try to avoid using real-world brand names, as a rule, but I'm sure there will be a Spanish-language TV station, cable networks, and streaming services. The above are representative of the stations from the original book that I thought most fans would be more familiar with. I like the "all superhero media" angle.
  12. Thanks for the heads up. (Reminds me of the yadomejutsu maneuvers in Sengoku.)
  13. At the moment, me. A bit of the material originally written by Patrick Sweeney is being recycled (the non-specific descriptive text), though a good portion is being updated and all-new material is being added, as well. I'm doing most of the writing at present, though Patrick has expressed an interest in contributing new material, as well.
  14. One of the things we're going to be doing is creating a lot more eye candy to help create an immersive experience, as well as to create a sort of guide for artists. Here's one example: the branding for the various television stations in the Golden City. Please share your feedback below.
  15. In case folks hadn't heard, here's the recent posting on our Facebook page: We’re working on an update to our original San Angelo: City of Heroes product line, bringing the Origins Award-nominated sourcebook and setting into the 21st century! No definitive release date yet but we are shooting for Summer 2020. We’ll post updates here so be sure to follow us to get the latest info! I'll be posting material and sneak peaks, as well as answering questions, in this thread. See you at Liberty Square! SACoH Facebook Page | Twitter: @SACoHNews | IG: @SACoHNews | Website: SACoH.com
  16. Rumor has it that we're doing an update of SA:CoH. That being the case, we're going to need conversions of the old character write-ups to H6. PLUS we're going to need 6E write-ups for the NEW characters and updated characters (the "Where are they now?" gang, 'cause after 20 years people change). If you have the requisite software and are interested in doing conversions and submitting character files to us on spec, contact me (goldrushpub@gmail.com).
  17. Hey, gang. Sorry for being so late to the party. Just getting back into the swing of things. Anyway, I saw that there was a question about where a couple of neighborhoods were located. Here's an image of the area (county) map from the original book. As an aside, I definitely plan to .include better maps in the new books. Cheers.
  18. Hiya! I know I'm waaaay late to this conversation, but I just wanted to point out a minor detail. In SACoH, it's Western Gas & Electric Co., a private utility company, that provides natural gas and power to San Angelo County residents, not PG&E. Unless, of course, you were simply saying it's PG&E in your campaign... As for the permits and such... I want to remind everyone that SA:CoH (like virtually all published setting books) provides material for your use and enjoyment. If that enjoyment is ever curtailed due to said material, you are fully within your rights to nix that material from the setting. Period. There's no requirement whatsoever to use a product 100% as written. The same applies to our upcoming SA:CoH products, as well. Love the blending of the anime material with SA;:CoH, btw! Cheers! Mark
  19. Ooh, I can post stuff on my own feed. Neato!

I’m interested in helping with the HD files. Do you have any preset requirements?

  20. I have a little experience running this setting back in the day. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
  21. So noted. We appreciate the feedback. I think you'll like what we're planning for the relaunch.
  22. Just so you folks are aware, we're looking at releasing much of the setting material on a Wiki-style platform and publishing updated characters, stories and such in new books. The books would be meatier with lots of usable in-game goodness (art, stats, adventures, etc.). The Wiki would be a highly detailed resource for those who want to delve deeper into the backstory and the setting. One of the things I like about the Wiki idea is that it would allow GMs and players to use it during the game (on smartphones, tablets, etc.). We're posting quite a bit of content on the beta. Once we have the bulk of the material up that we want to release, we'll open it up for fans to participate. We're planning to license all of the text on the Wiki under the CC-BY-NC-ND.
  23. Noted. We appreciate feedback like this. Just FYI, we're working on a relaunch for the future (no set release date yet). You can follow some of the developments and discussion on the SACoH FB page. I'm happy to cross post stuff here, as well.
