  1. Hello. I'm a little confused about how this is supposed to work. If someone with EGO 25 and DEX 12 attacks on their phase at EGO/DEX 25 but get attacked, let's say on DEX 15, does the mental power user just abort the rest of their current phase or do they give up the rest of the current phase and the next one as well? Also, are they still allowed to move on DEX 12 at all after attacking? I vaguely recall reading somewhere that once you attack your turn is over. An I recalling that correctly? Does that mean that if the character using the mental power wants to move and attack on the same segment they have to wait until their DEX came up to do so? Also I feel as though I should add, my players and I have been playing that you can move and attack or attack then move. Does this way of playing not work when you incorporate mental powers? Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide on this!
  2. Hello, I'm running a superhero game and a couple of my players want to have powers that go off when they punch something. 1) The first player wishes to punch people and then do a drain and aid. He's bought the drain and aid separate. I designed them using trigger but I think I've accidentally over designed/made it cost way more than it should. He has a selective AoE HA attack and the idea is that he blinks around like nightcrawler draining targets and boosting himself. He doesn't always want to trigger the drain/aid as his special effect reason is that he can target specific energy points for the drain or just hit them normally. Is trigger the right way to do this? 2) The other player has a character that wants different attacks on each of his limbs. He's designed them as a multi power. Two of the limbs he's bought naked advantages for but the other two have powers attached. One is an AoE cone. The idea being that he kicks someone and it produces a large cone of fire on top of the target and up to 8m behind the target. The other attack is an entangle. He wants to punch someone and then lock them in a prison of ice. For both attacks he would like to hit them with his strength and then have the appropriate powers go off. Is trigger the right way to go about these or should I be doing linked or something else entirely? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  3. Thank you both Steve and bigdamnhero for the replies. Steve - I will be sure to look a those options. I have heard of Naked Advantages, but I should really do some reading up on them (as a brief aside, I recently figured out variable power pools (i think) and I kinda geeked out about it cause they seem like a lot of fun). bigdamnhero - to answer some of the points you made: We are currently playing a champions game. The main books we have been using are the core rule books volume 1 and 2 (i guess this is kind of a given ), the champions book, champions powers book, and martial arts book. All 6th edition. If you have ever read Jim Butcher's Furies of Calderon series my player is trying to make powers like those displayed in the books. This power is from the metal portion of Mr. Butcher's magic system. In the books people who work with metal in a "magic" sense can manipulate metal and armor themselves with it. They can also improve any weapon they are holding, which also increases their ability with said weapon. It is that last one that my player is looking to emulate. He wants to grab a sword use the power and make it so that the sword grants him some minor combat bonuses but also does more damage and armor cutting power. I think ultimately it would be flat every time. So let's say his character's name is Joe. When Joe is holding a sword and using this power he hits more often, hits harder, and penetrates more armor with it than if Bob comes along and uses the same sword. We are doing a champions campaign with 400 point characters. Thanks again to the pair of you for the help. Hopefully what I can churn out (with your help) can sync up with the vision my player has. PS - Thanks for the welcome. I am also really glad you read my name right. A lot of people read it as Now Here Man, so it is always refreshing when people get it right.
  4. I apologize in advance if something like this has been discussed before. I have been playing within this system for about a year stumbling along with my players making the best of it. My question is about a power one of my players wants to create. He would like the ability to make held weapons better by adding some damage and armor piercing. I am not sure how this is done though. I thought I had it nailed down through AID because according to hero designer it is eligible for the armor piercing advantage but I think that is only for the boosted damage not the target of the power. Would transform be the way to go? Any help or point in the right direction would be great. Thanks in advance.
