  1. If you want to kill a superhuman you would need a huge KA on average. However, the average normal person has 8 BODY or so...that's roughly a 5d KA for 75 AP. On an average roll against a typical human without any rDEF that would outright kill them. It could be very effective against normal humans and make a villain seem pretty fearsome. But overall a regular 5d KA would be much more effective vs a super. I would say it could be a great "flavor" power but not terribly effective against your average super unless the KA was pumped up to some ungodly level. Edit: could make a cool MP out of it for death magic where you have the outright kill spell and a regular RKA. Maybe other fun stuff too ?
  2. HERO doesn't do absolutes very well. That said, you could make it a high damage KA with a limitation that it must do 2x the BODY of the victim or it does nothing.

I just pushed the 1.2.4 build into production, it has the following fixes: Fixed a character loading bug on some devices (Android only) Fixed an issue that caused sliding a slider to also switch tabs (iOS only) As usual, Android will be updated before iOS, likely within an hour or so of this post. The iOS update will hit your devices tomorrow sometime pending a successful review by Apple. @John Desmarais @Toxxus

  6. Yeah, that's weird ? There is a simple workaround for that by using the text input field on the slider. I'll see what I can do about it.

  8. I actually can see the issue by looking at your post. For some reason your Note is passing in the mime type of "text/xml" instead of "application/xml". I can fix that on my side.

  10. The 1.2.3 build was just approved by Apple. I'm feeling pretty confident that this will finally address the loading issues that you've been experiencing. I was able to simulate both iCloud and local file loading on iPhones and iPads without issue...hopefully the real devices will behave the same this time now that I've reset my simulators to their default states. Give it a whirl and let me know if I hit the mark. Phil
  11. Alright, it was a surprisingly easy fix but it was buried at the end of their docs. Once I came across the fix I had to get a little late night hacking in but I'm feeling pretty confident in this fix. I reset my simulators and things are looking good on my end but as you probably know, the Xcode simulators and I have a love/hate relationship. I'll push the new update into production tomorrow.
  12. Oh no! It was working for me in simulation but there must be something different between the simulator and a real device. Not the first time this has happened tbh. Was the error message you saw the same as your original post? I'll look into it tomorrow. Phil
  13. I made some changes to the file loading code and I started a rollout to production a few minutes ago. They should be hitting your device sometime soon for Android and hopefully over the next day or so for iOS. iOS seems to always take a bit longer than Android to review their apps.
  14. The phone is/was my target device size. I don't actually know what would be involved with supporting a tablet but I'm not opposed to looking into it to see if what would be needed. I imagine I would have to just create new screens to utilize the space...may be a fun project. Phil
  15. Gotcha, well I located a couple of bugs in the code...one iOS specific and one was a general bug. I'll make an update later tonight after I finishing testing.

  18. Interesting, it's definitely a result of the latest round if changes I made. I changed the low level library I was using for file management and this is unfortunately what I was afraid would happen ? Are you loading from iCloud? Could you try loading right off the iPad itself or vice versa and let me know if that works for you? Phil
  19. OK, so the latest build (1.2.1) is now live in the app stores. Featurewise, it's a small changeset which can be viewed here - https://www.herogames.com/forums/topic/96734-hero-system-mobile/?tab=comments#comment-2642800 Not in the notes: as promised I swapped out the underlying file libs and things seem fine in my own tests. I've been loading files from all over the place on a Pixel 1 and 3 without issues...iOS is a little trickier as I don't have access to any iOS devices and have just been using the XCode simulator in my tests. AFAIK everything is working across both platforms but I await to hear from you guys/gals ultimately to know if that is the case. There's a new export template available for this build as well - https://www.herogames.com/forums/files/file/449-xml-export-template/. Stricktly speaking you don't need to update the export template but you may see these guys ��� in place of special characters like typesetter quotes if you DON'T upgrade your export template. The upgraded template and app both work well together and support a much wider range of characters than before.
  20. Sadly, they all seem to be 16mm. I can't locate a 12mm anywhere. Thanks for pointing them out though.
  21. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I can purchase 12mm 3 sided dice from?
  22. Is it possible to have a negative value for knockback dice? Say I'm flying in ZeroG (-2 KB dice), I roll with a punch (-1 KB dice) from an incoming Blast...that puts the attacker at a total of -1d6 dice to roll for KB. Do you roll the 1d6 and add it to your body to determine KB or is there some rule I'm missing that states KB dice can only be positive?
  23. I've been working on a new build for the app over the last week in my spare time and I wanted to give a quick development update. Added many more knockback options to the damage tool (Zero G, Clinging, etc) Blast can now be long touched on a character and it will pre-populate the damage tool I'm also planning on gutting the underlying file manipulation library and replacing it with a nicer and better maintained one. Hopefully, this will address some of the file loading issues people have been experiencing. This type of change can be disruptive so I'll need to do some extra testing but I already have had a good experience with this library on another app I built. I don't think that it will be a magic bullet for all file issues because I know some of them are caused by custom ROMs, AV, and other security software but I believe it will be a step in the right direction. No exact ETA on the new build but it will be within this month unless something comes up.
  24. I just skimmed it on my phone, it looks really well done. I'll very likely be passing this on to a group of D&D players I'm planning on running a 1-shot for.
