Bricks: Hercules, Gilgimesh Energy Projectors: Zeus Speesters: Hermes Mystics: Circe, Prospero Mentalists: Rasputin, Mesmer Patriots: Uncle Sam, Columbia Yes... in a way, everything has been done. But (as mentioned above) delivery is everything. Sure, you're going to get the wealthy-playboy-in-power-armor, and there is nothing wrong with that. But you also are going to get the High-Tech Mecha possessed by the primeval spirit of the earth as well. In the end they both may be powered armor characters, but they also are vastly different in concept and delivery. This is where HERO (as a game system) begins having us think in term s of stats instead of results. When used properly, the system allows us to make our creativity into a playable character, bying turning the concept into stats. That's where the strength of this system lies.

I think the Doc clone has potential.... nasty potential. You could even pull off a Dr. Doom/Kristoff angle to infiltrate our little clone into the Heroes' hearts and minds.

Re: Side Effect: END Reserve Go Boom! I'm with cubist on this one. Perhaps a set effect instead of a scaled one. And you have to consider what is going to happen to your campaign when this thing goes off. NOW, if you don't let it happen, then he's just getting points for free.

Good point, I tend to think in terms of SA, as we just created a 'blind fighter' for my daughter. Maybe the cliche, a Martial Arts instructor... it's worked before. Or a Stunt-man, that's another classic for skill-mongers with no marketable skills.

I think you are on to something here. The subgenre of 'Teen Hero' is actually more imitative of Gaming groups themselves. Instead of the single hero with a score of NPCs and DNPCs, you have a group of Characters that evolve i their own right. (I'm thinking Buffy more than Smallville). In the beginning, you have the Hero (Buffy) and a group of neophytes. As the seasons go by, Giles is revealed to be a genuine Bada$$, Willow becomes a more and more powerful Witch, Cordelia (who goes to Angel to gain her own set of powers) is replaced by the Ex-Demon Anya, etc. This is classic Experience points at work. This is something we haven't seen in comics since Sue Richards learned she could do more than become invisible.

What about Spatial Awareness and Discriminatory on his touch and taste? DD was famous for being able to read a newspaper with his fingertips and telling how many grains of salt were on a pretzel. But then, I guess you are not trying to duplicate DD exactly.
