Jagged got a reaction from Drhoz in Diversion: The Pranky Burglar
Change all the photographs to photographs of other people.
Stretch goal: replace all photographs with photoshoped versions of the originals. All with varying levels of difference / weirdness.

Jagged reacted to Christopher R Taylor in Brandon Routh Returns As Superman
Loved Dean Cain as Superman, and Brandon Routh was great even if the film was pretty disappointing

Jagged got a reaction from Spence in HS 6e is mechanically the best version of the rules; dissenting views welcome
Been following this thread for a while now. Nearly posted a few times. Wrote long posts that never got submitted because threads like this are why I left these boards for over a year and now I am back only really post in "Non-gaming" and "General roleplaying" forums. Still, here goes:
"Mechanically best" - no idea what that means and care even less.
From my point of view 6e changed loads of things in Champions that gave it its flavour; To solve problems I never experienced; Which when explained to me made me wonder if those games had a GM? Worst still, those problems were placed ahead of the real problems that Hero System suffered from, which was all about getting people to play the game.
If you spend any time in other gaming forums you will know that the "consensus" is that Hero is Complex, Hero is Slow, GURPS is better. Did we do anything to change that? We produced a big, enourmous, blue book. ? At a time when the market direction was for small and simple and quick and old skool. Great job!
Finally I think "The Story of COM" is very representative of where its all gone wrong imo. No new player ever had to ask what COM was. It was a dirt-cheap points sink. It provided 10 minutes of fun at the start of every campaign while we worked out who was the prettiest. Now we have "Striking Appearance" ?
I think we built a game that was perfect for a small group of people on this forum, which is unsellable to the general gaming public. Harsh, but I think true. At least we have some pretty covers again.

This is an example of why I am not posting on this forum any more.

Jagged got a reaction from Khas in Mobile forum home link
The Mobile forum home link now takes you to the site home page rather than the top of the forum. This is a horrible change. Could this be reverted?

Jagged reacted to archer in Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker
In the Extended Universe, he was well known for two things:
1) having mastered the Shatterpoint. That wasn't a well-known technique and almost no one could learn it. But it wasn't dark.
2) He learned the seventh style lightsaber combat in addition to the 6 established ones which were still being taught. The seventh form was being encouraged by most Masters to die out because it required a very intense level of focus by the user and was very ferocious (it was the style employed by Darth Maul in the movies).
If the user lost his internal focus, he could easily fall to the Dark Side. The technique was considered extremely dangerous to the user, but not necessarily dark in and of itself. Windu's teacher, a Jedi Master himself, fell to the Dark SIde through using the technique. Yet Windu, after becoming a Master himself, taught it to his own Padawan. Go figure.
The seventh style was known as "Juyo, the Way of the Vornskyr" and the "Ferocity Form". Windu personally referred to it as "Vaapad". I'm not sure if that was an official name or a word from Windu's native planet.

Jagged got a reaction from Trencher in Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker
I do believe the original trilogy is the best and my confirmation was my son who saw episodes 1 to 6 in story order. Claimed to really love the prequels but the only one he would ever rewatch was The Empire Strikes Back.
There you go, conclusive proof

Jagged got a reaction from slikmar in Valentine: The Dark Avenger
I am not much of a fan of Lucas but there is no denying he changed many things.
He made sfx an industry.
Made the music score a highly important part of the experience.
He created the movie merchandise industry.
I could go on. There is no denying SW was unlike anything that went before.

Jagged reacted to Ternaugh in Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker
Luke in Episode IV starts out a whiny little b***h, moves into being a know-it-all in Episode V, and then tries to be the cool kid in Episode VI. Having a much older Luke essentially channeling Ben and Yoda in hiding out in a remote area, nursing his wounds, and occasionally yelling at clouds seems very much in character.

Sorry Disney, not going to buy your channel.
Mind you, news reports suggest it may be years before its available outside the US and I get the opportunity to "not buy it" ?

I spent ages trying to remember where I knew Number One from, without resorting to IMDB. Which resulted in me shouting "Merlin" in the middle of one episode for no apparent reason

I think you have to be looking for problems to suggest that Shield one-liner causes continuity problems.
Really, if Shield was a real life organisation and given my exposure to bureaucrats and government, the name would be getting tweaked all the time.

Batman abusing the elderly fits perfectly in the Snyder-verse.

Aquaman didn't really interest me but I have read it was pretty entertaining if dumb (kinda like Guardians of the Galaxy). Really I don't want Dostoevsky when I go see a Superhero film, just to have fun and come out happy.
