  1. Re: Answers & Questions Q - Okay, I'll take to easy way out and make a gratuitous Twilight comment. Is that so wrong? A - Like Kanye West trying to solve a Rubik's Cube.
  2. Re: "Neat" Pictures The U.S. and the U.K.--two nations separated by a common language.
  3. Re: Answers & Questions Q - How do you plan to barbeque a budong in 30 seconds? A - I'm sorry, I must have lost track of the time.
  4. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat The opening act was Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". If anyone HAD been watching, that almost certainly drove them off. New Topic: Who's really responsible for that explosion over Russia this morning?
  5. Re: "Neat" Pictures I can't believe I didn't see this yesterday. Inconceivable!
  6. Re: Answers & Questions Q - Emperor Mollari prefers Spoo to Swedish meatballs? Why? A - I'm surrounded by pleas for mercy, wails of agony, and general moaning and lamentation.
  7. Re: Answers & Questions Q - If we can put a man on the moon, why can't we put everyone in Hollywood there, too? It's not like we'd need to bring them back.... A - Seven light beers, a polo mallet, and every M. Night Shyamalan movie ever made.
  8. Re: "Neat" Pictures These are amazing! The artwork is cool and they even got most of the chemistry right!
  9. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine That would certainly add another dimension to things, wouldn't it?
  10. Re: Haiku Hero I find astronomy fascinating--"more in heaven and Earth" and all that. I don't know an awful lot. Yet. I'm learning.
  11. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine All the pieces are now in place. At last, the team can be revealed. Metallica: She can convert her body into an ultra-strong metal alloy. She's the team's powerhouse. Splice: He can imitate the unusual DNA of anyone he sees. He temporarily gains their powers when he does so. Panther: She's a combat specialist with exceptional agility and really sharp claws. Red Eye: She recruited the rest of the team, and is the undisputed team leader. Also, she can fire powerful laser blasts from her remaining eye. Thunderfist: He can control the weather in a small area. The team is helping him to learn to control his impulsive behavior, too. Gunmetal Ghost: Being the team's stealth, reconnaissance, and infiltration specialist is easier when you can walk through walls. Riposte: In addition to being a world-class fencer and acrobat, she can also move from one place to another without going through the space in between. Together, they fight to protect the innocent and to bring the bad guys to justice. They are: Project XY!
  12. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine She lost an eye in a childhood accident. In college, the iris of her remaining eye turned red and she discovered that if she focused her will power, she could generate powerful laser laser blasts that emanated from her eye. She was recruited by a mysterious government agency to find and train other metahumans to protect the innocent and fight crime and terrorism. She jumped at the chance. What was she going to do with a degree in comparative literature, anyway? Red Eye!

  16. Re: Jokes Q - What's the difference between a cat and a comma?
  17. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine A newer superhero, he only recently discovered his superpowers. He can control the local weather to a degree, but so far he mostly just likes to zap the villains with lightning. One hopes that he will develop subtlety (and a little imagination) as time goes by. Thunderfist!

  21. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Thirty-six B batteries. What are B batteries, anyway? Or even A batteries? I know what AA, AAA, C, and D batteries are, but what about A and B? New Topic: Creative ways to tell your current boss that you're starting a much better job tomorrow.
  22. Re: Jokes A bunch of kids in my lab the other day were telling juvenile jokes of the "What do you call a guy with no arms and legs in a ____" variety, so i told them two they'd never heard before. Q - What do you call two guys with no arms and legs above your window? Q - What do you call a dog with no legs? Oh, and when they got to the old "What's black and white and red all over" jokes, I told them this one: Q - What's pink and red and won't fit through a revolving door? Some of my students think I'm hilarious.
