...who is, ironically, probably most famous for the touchdown he didn't score.

The average Imperial Stormtrooper is 5 feet eleven inches tall.
But the average metric Stormtrooper is 180 centimeters tall.

Nuggets 114, Lakers 103
The Nuggets have beaten the Lakers nine straight times, if memory serves.
Gentlemen, let's make it twelve, shall we?

Sweet surrender on the Quayside
You remember we used to run and hide
In the shadow of the cargoes
I take you one at a time
And we're counting all the numbers
Down to the waterlineWell, near misses on the dogleap stairways
French kisses in the darkened doorways
A foghorn blowing out wild and cold
A policeman, he shines a light upon my shoulderUp comes a coaster fast and silent in the night
Over my shoulder all you can see are the pilot lights
No money in our jackets and our jeans are torn
Your hands are cold but your lips are warmShe can see him on the jetty that they used to know
She can feel him in the places where the sailors go
When she's walking by the river or the railway line
She can still hear him whisper
Let's go down to the waterline -
Me, if my Mom hadn't taught me about the virtues of a filter....

A long time ago came a man on a track
Walking thirty miles with a sack on his back
And he put down his load
Where he thought it was the best
He made a home in the wildernessHe built a cabin and a winter store
And he plowed up the ground by the cold lake shore
And the other travelers came walking down the track
And they never went further, no
They never went backThen came the churches, then came the schools
Then came the lawyers, and then came the rules
Then came the trains and the trucks with their loads
And the dirty old track was the telegraph roadThen came the mines, then came the ore
Then there was the hard times, then there was a war
Telegraph sang a song about the world outside
Telegraph road got so deep and so wide
Like a rolling riverAnd my radio says tonight it's gonna freeze
People driving home from the factories
There's six lanes of traffic
Three lanes moving slowI used to like to go to work, but they shut it down
I've got a right to go to work
But there's no work here to be found
Yes, and they say we're gonna have to pay what's owed
We're gonna have to reap
From some seed that's been sowedAnd the birds up on the wires and the telegraph poles
They can always fly away from this rain and this cold
You can hear them singing out their telegraph code
All the way down the telegraph roadYou know, I'd sooner forget
But I remember those nights
When life was just a bet on a race
Between the lights
You had your head on my shoulder
You had your hand in my hair
Now you act a little colder
Like you don't seem to careBut believe in me, baby, and I'll take you away
From out of this darkness and into the day
From these rivers of headlights, these rivers of rain
From the anger that lives on the streets with these names
'Cause I've run every red light on memory lane
I've seen desperation explode into flames
And I don't want to see it again
From all of these signs saying, "Sorry, but we're closed"
All the way
Down the telegraph road -
Getting crazy on the waltzers
But it's the life that I choose
Hey, sing about the six-blade, sing about the switchback
And a torture tattooAnd I've been riding on a ghost train
Where the cars they scream and slam
And I don't know where I'll be tonight
But I'd always tell you where I amIn a screaming ring of faces
I've seen her standing in the light
She had a ticket for the races, yeah
Just like me she was a victim of the nightI put a hand upon the lever
Said, "Let it rock and let it roll"
I had the one arm bandit feverThere was an arrow through my heart and my soul
And the big wheel keep on turning
Neon burning up above
And I'm just high on the world
Come on and take a low ride with me girl
On the tunnel of love
Yeah, loveIt's just the danger, danger
When you're riding at your own risk
She said, "You are the perfect stranger"
She said, "Baby, let's keep it like this"It's just a cake walk, twisting baby, yeah,
Step right up and say
"Hey Mister, give me two, give me two now,'cause any two can play"
And the big wheel keep on turning
Neon burning up above
And I'm just high on the world
Come on and take a low ride with me girlOn the tunnel of love
Oh, love, loveWell, it's been money for muscle on another whirligig
Money for muscle and another girl I dig
Another hustle just to, just to make it big
And rock away, rock away
Oh, rock away, rock awayAnd girl, it looks so pretty to me
Like it always did
Oh, like the Spanish City to me
When-a we were kids
Hey girl, it looks so pretty to me
Just like it always did
Oh, like the Spanish City to me
When-a we were kidsCheck it out!
She took off a silver locket
She said, "Remember me by this"
She put her hand in my pocket
I got a keepsake and a kissAnd in the roar of dust and diesel
I stood and watched her walk away
I could have caught up with her easy enough
But something must have made me stayAnd the big wheel keep on turning
Neon burning up above
And I'm just high on the world
Come on and take a low ride with me girl
On the tunnel of love
Yeah, love, love, love
On the tunnel of love
Oh, love, loveAnd now I'm searching through these carousels and the carnival arcades
Searching everywhere from steeplechase to palisades
In any shooting gallery where promises are made
To rock away, rock awayRock away, rock away
From Cullercoats and Whitley Bay
Out to rock awayAnd girl, it looks so pretty to me
Like it always did
Like the Spanish City to me
When we were kids
Girl, it looks so pretty to me
Like it always did
Like the Spanish City to me
When we were kids -

I've seen a lot of opinion pieces on social media about how the Broncos may be or should be trading up to take JJ.
To every one of these, without fail, I remind folks that the last two quarterbacks the Broncos traded up to get were Paxton Lynch and Tim Tebow.
I have precisely zero faith in the Donkeys fixing their quarterback situation through the draft. As I have commented before, the best quarterback the Broncos have ever drafted is probably Jay Cutler.
If the Broncos can pick up Michael Pratt or Spencer Rattler in the third round, that's probably the best situation. They can spend their first round pick on an area of greater need. And yes, there are areas of greater need for the Broncos right now than quarterback, strange as it sounds.

What about the proposal that B1G and $EC teams get one additional player on the field when playing teams from lesser conferences? Did that one go through or not? I don't remember.

We just watched the press conference welcoming the NHL to Utah. The Commissioner spoke, as did the new owners, the governor, the mayor of Salt Lake County, the mayor of Salt Lake City, and some others.
It's pretty exciting. This is real.

And here I thought the level of play on the field was going to be the Rockies' biggest problem this year. 🙄

Wow, that's confusing. I wonder if they play Carolina this season...
It is just an alternate, and apparently market research indicated that the fans really loved this look back in the day, but still...how many black and lightish blue cat teams can one league reasonably support?

Holy lamb
See the world we started
Is it so low again
Like a light that's lost upon the stage
So the more it shines, it goes awaySurely then
See the curtain rising to show us once again
All the magic of the earth and the skies
See the more we find
The more we realiseThat every time
See the laws of nature keep telling us like a friend
It's the spirit of emotion dancing to the wind
High above
High above
So sure inspired againI can tell a new story now
Can we see through this mask of uncertainty
Surely now
How can it be so hard when all there is to know
Don't be afraid of letting go
It takes a loving heart
To see and show
This love
For our own ecologyHold the light
Hold the light
Out of love we'll come a long long glorious way
At the start of every day
A child begins to play
And all we need to know
Is that the future is a friend of yours and mine -
He could probably play in China.

Father: "You should just become a cop."
Daughter: "I don't want to do that."
Father: "Why not? All the guys you chase are criminals and reprobates. You might as well get paid for it."

You can cheat until you're blind
You can cut your heart

You can feed the soul apart

It can happen to me
It can happen to everyone eventuallyIt's a constant fight

You're pushing the needle to the red
Black and white

Q: Are you really telling me that the remake of the Thriller video actually stars the reanimated corpse of Michael Jackson?!
A: Twenty minutes at 35,000 K ought to do it.
