Pariah reacted to unclevlad in Political Discussion Thread (With Rules)
Found an amusing poll over on Awful Announcing.
"Would you vote for a presidential candidate whose VP candidate is Aaron Rodgers?"
90% NO...and over 1500 votes.

While this is a bit of crankiness, given the subject matter, I'm putting it here.
I had to drop off a package at the local post office, and I noticed a little stand on the sidewalk, with a big sign saying, "Defend Trump". I was going to ignore them, but as I was getting back into my car, one of them waved me over. Probably not his best idea. After I asked why are we defending a billionaire, his response was, "well, they're trying to take it away."
To which I responded, "Good. He deserves it." I then gave him a short rundown of how he stiffed a company I worked for ("I don't know the details of that"). So, then I explained to him about how Trump Tower was built using undocumented workers. I finished by saying that he is dangerous, should never be near the presidency again, and that he should be locked up. I then wished them a good day, and left. As I was getting back in my car, the gentleman I had been talking to looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

I've only been summed for jury duty once, and they seated no juries that day so I got off free. I may be on the "scientist" blacklist (no one wants intelligent, rational jurors who are smarter than the lawyers).

And NYT had a story that only about 30% of Americans want TikTok restricted. They also mentioned, it's become an alternative to reach people...including by several in Congress. The TL;DR was, yes indeed, Republicans trying to do things Americans DON'T want, rather than what they do.
Every day, in every way, I'm getting more and more confirmed...I will not vote Republican. Period. Not all Republican candidates are bad, but it doesn't matter to me now.
And...yeah, VPNs are trivial. I've used BitDefender for anti-virus for...good lord, 10 years now? How time flies. Got it because it was a top-tier AV at that time, by the 3 big AV review sites. A VPN's built in. And it's not exactly expensive; just looking at NordVPN? Less than $5/month would throw in a password manager. So, not exactly expensive. And *Forbes*...that radical liberal institution!!!!...has a review of VPN packages!
But hey, we know the farther-right Reps don't care about achieving anything substantive, they just want a crowing point.

I can actually see his points. He's certainly not the only one thinking it's too much. Not making waves is *not* a bad thing...being reliable to do your job is a very good thing. But yeah, he's definitely in denial about where he fits in. Hey, dude, you were on top of the football universe...but you lost your mojo in that game 3 against the Vikes in '16...and were never the same afterward. The flake act usually wears thin fairly quickly when the performance isn't there...unless you're Aaron Rodgers.

Wasn't it KFC that also did the breadless chicken sandwich? Two chicken patties with...I forget what, in between.
All I can say is, I'd hate to see the ideas they reject...........................

The jail cell opened, "Prisoner DeMara, someone wants to see you. Government agent of some sort...pulled rank and who knows what."
The prisoner smoothed out her ugly outfit. Whoever said 'orange was the new black' with a serious face was out of their mind. She rose cautiously "Am I being transfered to a superprison? I don't even have my gear"
"I don't know" the guard says.
"it's not a transfer to an Asylum is it? I really did go into the future, I didn't imagine that" DeMara swallowed.
"Allow me to change my answer" The guard shrugged, a look of almost aggressive apathy on her face, "I don't care. Now, get moving."
With that, Prisoner DeMara was walked to a room and pressed into a seat at a table.
"Thank you, Guard. I'll take it from here," Spider-Woman observed, then she looked over the woman before her while the guard left and locked the door behind her.
"Spider-Woman? I don't think we've met," The prisoner said, "If the Wasp sent you, I will apologize as many times as..."
Spider-Woman held up a hand, "Rumor has it, you time traveled. Joined a Group Called the Guardians of the Galaxy. Looked at their files."
"Yeah," DeMara said cautiously, "You... you believe me?"
"I know you're good at computers and electronics," Spider-Woman replied, "ANd I suspect you are sitting on a treasure trove of data from the future. Stored somewhere cell sized in that suit your stole. It would take us years to find it. Normally I'd be worried about the integrity of the time line, but..." She slid a picture forward. On it was the image of an old man, "Do you know this man?"
DeMara cursed, "That's Doc Brown, he's a menace! He and that hoverboard kid!"
"Says the woman who is playing fast and loose with temporal ethics," Spider-Woman nodded, "Would this file have information on how to take out Kryptonians?"
The prisoner started to explain, for the thirty second time that she returned to HELP the Avengers only to end up looking like a mad woman when all turned out okay but at the word Kryptonian her eyes widened, "Maybe. With the data in there you might be able to synthesize Kryptonite. It's not my specialty."
"Mmm you get your suit back, but..." Spider Woman said "I've put a tracker on it YOU won't be able to find easily. So.. until I get the data I want, and the rest of that file WILL be destroyed, you're on a work furlough program" She slid a suit case forward.
Rita DeMara opened it to see the uniform and helmet that had been the source of so many opportunities in her life, and at least as many problems.
Spider-Woman smirked, "Welcome back to the heroics side, Yellowjacket, now, get dressed"
Well, it was a step up from orange!

Happy Wednesday!
Wednesday, March 13th: The MacGuffin
This is some object that drives the story. It could be a jewel-encrusted bird statue, or a lost relic, or a glove with a bunch of little rocks in it, or a stolen piece of super-tech. It might even be some cute little critter who's actually half a century old. Whatever. It doesn't actually matter what the MacGuffin is, just that the story revolves around it.
