  1. I mostly want to see all of what is out there, but we are playing a mesh of 4th and 6th edition and I have access to 2nd edition, 6th Champions Complete book, and sometimes the 4th edition book (not often tho). I've been thinking about getting the Advanced players guide but they were sold out last I checked. The GM is very open for what he will let in. Half the time we are even playing with Pathfinder characters too because we occasionally combine groups. However, I have definitely noticed that using a framework or key combination of powers and disadvantages (like equipment) makes a big difference for point economics to be effective.
  2. I'm new playing Champions and still trying to work my head around power frameworks. I saw some nice explanations of them and have seen them used in some different ways, but I don't have access to all the books so a couple things I'm still unsure about. Like are there more than three frameworks and if so what are they? I have seen a few fantasy characters having something that looks like an Equipment Framework, is that different from the Champion's Frameworks? Mainly I would like to see a thread where people post various different ways to use all the frameworks available in the Hero System with points all clearly labeled and I think that would help me understand them better and show me some I might not have access to with my Champions book. SO, could people post some fun and interesting uses of frameworks with explanations?
  3. I'm waiting for a reply right now since I have access to a character he made with the EC and that one doesn't have any limitations to help guide me with my question, but it also doesn't have a single power that uses END. We have been playing this character for 3 games now, so I know how it works in his game too and that is definitely contrary to what I am reading in the Errata and Clarification section too. However, the main limitation he puts on the power is that you can only have 1 power per 5cp, so you can't have infinite low cost powers like was one of the munchkins people used to do.
  4. Thanks. I don't quite have the terms right because I only have the 6e book. So, If I got this right I can do something like: 25 (17) Darkness Elemental Control -1/2 not working in bright light 50 (25) Regeneration 50 (25) Flight 50 (17) Umberkineseis -1/2 only at night (because this power is in the "pool" it will also be effected by the activation cost's disadvantage) This is assuming those powers are not considered special or use endurance because they are just random examples right now. I will check for endurance when I remake the character, but I don't know what counts as "Special Powers".
  5. My GM is running 4th edition and suggested that we use the Elemental Control Framework for the character my husband is building. However we don't have the book and I am unsure if we apply modifiers to the control cost or the individual power cost. Example: All the powers in the framework will have a -1/2 for not working in bright light. Does that modify the 50CP for the Control Pool or does it modify the cost for his Flight, Regen, and Umbrakinesis individually?
  6. Hi, I'm trying to wrap my brain around computers in Champions but won't be able to talk to my GM for a while who actually knows the system. So, fun challenge for those who want to help: How would you build a 2020 personal computer (budget), a 2020 hacking computer (mid PT cost), or a super computer (high PT cost)? Bonus points for explaining features so this system learner doesn't accidently make something with huge ram but no memory or visa versa.
  7. Anyone know where I can find some good examples or advice on how to build computers and bases? So far I've copied the things I like off of the template in the Champions Complete book, but I found it very lacking in details and advice. Especially when building for the modern world computers seem extremely expensive. I'm also trying to build a base and may build a vehicle some day, so advice on those would help too.
