Pattern Ghost reacted to Lord Liaden in Political Discussion Thread (With Rules)
But why is Rittenhouse even offered an appearance like this? He was a dumb punk kid who basically got away with shooting three people because he was a dumb punk kid. Then certain media and politicians built him up because they thought they could use him to advance their own agendas. Since then AFAICT he's done nothing but cash in on his notoriety. He's changed nothing, advocated for no cause, contributed no new thought.

The University of Memphis is public institution, and as such counts as a government entity.

Yellowstone: Wish I'd known there was still half a season left, and that Costner may not come back for it. Some good, some bad, some stupid to it. Still managed to suck me in. It subverted my expectations and made the protagonists into a cowboy mafia, which was an interesting spin on a ranch family defending their legacy, the eponymous ranch that's adjacent to the park of the same name. It often struggles with trying to create sympathetic characters out of a bunch of dysfunctional, self-interested killers. Frequently suffers from godawful dialog. Has a few true soap opera level stupid situations.
1883: Yellowstone prequel, one season mini-series. Tells the tale of the Dutton family's journey across the Oregon Trail that led them to the Yellowstone. I liked it quite a bit more than the original show. It did a good job of showing the sheer brutality of life on the Oregon Trail. Narration was annoying, though.
1923: Best of the three. Set between World Wars, a mining baron (Timothy Dalton) is trying to take over the ranch. Big Damn Hero son is off in Africa dealing with his personal demons. He finds romance and adventure while trying to get back home. Waiting for season 2.
The Americans: Almost through Season 2. Great Cold War spy show, with plenty of twists and turns.

She flew over the city, still irked at her cousin. The environment was important to her, personally, not just as an Atlantean. So when a major American city had requested an ambassador from Atlantis, her cousin had asked her to put her college degree to good use. Was it near the ocean? She had specifically asked about oceans, but oh Namor just said "Miles and miles of coast not so far away"... and THAT is how she got tricked into going to Chicago! Honestly, it wasn't any worse than New York City for pollution, probably better, but while the Great Lakes were, well, great, she still steamed that she had been tricked into signing on before she got the full story. Worse, the Blue Sun Corporation was putting out not so subtle misinformation campaigns that she wasn't sure how to counter. In a more just world, she could have punched their sleazy mouthpiece across the room during that town council meeting when he made comments about Atlantis being a foreign influence uncaring of America's 'needs', as if the USA wasn't also in danger from climate change and so much more!
Imperius Rex but she almost hoped a supervillain would show up. She wanted to hit something, hard!
Sounds of gunfire caught her attention, and she flew down to investigate. Below, a costumed man was tumbling, almost dancing, between bullets with an agility that was rare, even by her no longer a rookie standards! 'Wow'" She thought as he inadvertently turned a very toned back side to her to close on a gunman. He was fighting them with sticks? Well, not like she hadn't seen that before. She looked about for more trouble makers and caught another scumball racing for a vehicle hidden under a tarp. Something was odd about its shape. When he moved the tarp she figured out why. The guy was trying to get into a tank? Where had a street gang or whatever this was gotten a TANK?
Before the guy could lift the hatch, she landed on top of the tank in his way and looked down. The would be tankie blinked, and said "feet?"
"Dainty feet," She declared "Now with new wing action," And she kicked him against a wall to see who would be next.

Chicago! It's got a better live theatre than Bludhaven, and less personal baggage than Gotham. Exactly how a city this big, with a rich history of organized crime and political corruption side by side with great works gets overlooked so often in the superhero set, I'm not sure. Hell of a skyline though, and I consider myself something an expert in those after decades of going on top of some good ones. What it doesn't have, at least currently, is a team. And if I'm going to take on the threats to Chicago, I'm going to need one.
Clark would try to do it all on his lonesome, and inadvertently inspire others.
Bruce would grumble about amateurs, then bully folks into organizing.
I've learned from both men, been on many teams, and had the pleasure of leading more than a few of them through glorious and hard times. And I know this much: Be there to catch people who are falling, and eventually, they start catching you back when you're the one in the plummet.
Stand up in shadow or in daylight, show that justice has a chance, and, trust good people to BE good, and even if they're not called by the name?
Titans will rise.
Paragon Pick: Nightwing aka Dick Grayson
****
And yes, Nightwing is a paragon. He has assembled multiple teams of heroes in times of crisis just by asking nicely.

SO, a location today, but no theme until Tomorrow
If I were a wise man, I would try to hold out until tomorrow for location as well, and thus be better braced for whatever theme comes!
But today, Wisdom is my proverbial dump stat!
Not knowing WHAT the hell is going on, I choose...The Windy City, Chi-Town itself, the City of Big Shoulders, aka Chicago, Illinois!
Location: Chicago
