  1. Re: Help with the information provided you are most likely looking at Multiform with no conscious control. in the multiform you can add additional Complications to make him more savage, things like lack of empathy or the like. Additionally if the multiform has powers then you can include them there. Palmate
  2. Re: Hero Scale Thanks all for the discussion. To clarify my full use, I run a fantasy hero which uses miniatures, most are based on a square, round or hex base. With that in mind it gives a good bases for when characters are within grapple/touch range - this is important because I don't use a grid and in fact use the fore mentioned "sewing tape". having an understanding as to a common objects size on the board (like the base of the miniature) helps me as a GM and helps my players understand distance better. 3. Re: Hero Scale Thanks for the responses. Now that I'm home and see the book (thanks Christopher), I see what hero states, I read that to mean that is the size of a person, I like the idea of sticking with the 2m "zone of control". Thank you again for the assistance. Palmate
  4. I'm in the process of building terrain for a fantasy hero game I'm currently running and ran into a small question - perhaps I will find the answer myself, but in the mean time, I could use some help. Hero 5th edition began the break from "Hex", and 6th edition has taken it even further moving towards a solid metric solution; so looking at a game that uses miniatures, lets say 28mm, how big is the base/hex the character stands in/controls? In games like D&D it is a 5x5 foot square. How big do you determine the hex your miniature is standing in to be? Thanks for the input. Palmate
  5. Re: THE HERO SYSTEM GRIMOIRE: What Do *You* Want To See? I would like to see a variety of healing type spells where the sfx, or the spell is built a variety of ways. While we are on the topic what are you using to define a power as a spell? Is it the presence of specific limitations, advantages, etc? I’m asking as it would help me in defining what I would like to see if I knew what you were calling a spell. P
  6. Re: World without horses To be fair the Pony Express was not over long distances on a single mount, they had regular stations where both the rider and the horse were changed out. Not to mention the simple fact that it is easier to carry a satchel on horseback then it is to run with one over your shoulder. I don't think there is any dispute over the short distance; but in the long distance is where the both become very close. Several factors also go into the calculation including temperature, humidity, and terrain... things like these will greatly affect the race. P
  7. Re: New character build questions the First one is pretty straight forward, Look into MultiPower Frameworks. I don't have my books right now, but I will try to edit with location. (Edit) location of Multipower Frameworks 6e1 402 - and there are some examples on the page that can easily be adapted to your use. The second one might be built with Unluck Complication, and an always on supress vs. magic casting roll (or similiar mechanic). the last one would be something along the line of Duplulicate (not sure if that power made it into 6e) - with some added linked VPP maybe??? Hope that gets you started, I'm sure everyone else will jump on this shortly. Good luck. P
  8. Re: Gun-Kata or Gun-Fu, Anyone? It is listed in 6E MA. I don't have access to the book at the moment but it is in there. P
  9. Re: How would you build a cheap detect supernatural or detect magic? Another option might be a device, build it as a small portable (think transistor radio), might also fit the genre. P
  10. Re: What's in a name one idea I heard several years ago was to select some real world cultures and correlate with your in game cultures, then just get a baby name book (most any will do) and name folks based on the real world area/culture that correlates to the in game location. This lends a sense of continuity to the setting and allows players to begin to relate names to places or at least cultures. P
  11. Re: Normals vs Zombies game - advice sought, please! Here are my initial thoughts, I’m sure others will chime in as this is just a cool concept game. I get the sense it is a sort of Shawn of the Dead meets 28 days later type of game, here are the things I would do. I would start with a Base pool of say 25 points; points can only be spent after attempting or performing an action – and then only on skills, abilities, or powers directly related to the recent event. Good RP earns a bonus of anywhere from 1-5 additional points for a good scene. These points either go into the pool or are spend immediately on the recent events which garnered the good RP. Since this is a one-off game I would not worry about how they are going to fair or spend points after they escape the city. I would give a specific goal… something like the last Ferry is leaving the harbor at sundown, or the city is getting Nuked in 3 days… some sort of end to the game. A deadline so to speak. This allows for a “winning” scenario. As to the specific mechanics, I would pre build example powers you will allow to be purchased – as you are the final judge of real world Human abilities… Not allowing someone to buy a MA, but allowing someone to get reduced END for running, eh. It’s the flavor I guess. I would build a list of Talents and in this list I would include: Scared out of Wits (resistance to Zombie fear) Neighborliness (select a neighborhood and you have a bonus to the area, contacts, current events, maybe even favors etc) I’m excited to hear how this develops. Keep us posted P
  12. Re: Combat Record Sheet There is a combat sheet available in Hero Designer. I'll try to print one out today when I get home and post it here for you to see if it will work for you. P
  13. How would you build a locate object type spell? I have heard many ways, I want to know how each of you would build it. Common solutions include Detect with Mega Scale or Mind Scan vs. inanimate objects. So tell me how would you build it? I don't need all the specific limits (unless you just want to show off ). 14. Re: Fantasy Hero 6th book question I found them to be about the same as well. P
  15. Re: Hero In Two Pages - Complete NOTICED?!? try USED. I just printed out 10 copies last week for a new group that is forming and the system is very new to everyone; I have one player who played Champions 2nd edition... So I'm very happy you took the time to work though this. Palmate
