Vigilantes Ghost and Eisen (Iron) have worked together for years. Ghost, an ex-special forces soldier was originally hired by Esien's scientist father to bodyguard her after an assassination attempt left her critically injured. He assisted and helped train her to use her new cybernetic limbs (developed by her father) and in the combat arts and together took revenge on the organization that had tried to kill her and her father, the Russian mafia.

They've been operating together ever since protecting Hudson City from the organastatya and other criminal forces that threaten it. Originally protective of the younger woman, Ghost found his feelings for her changing over the months, growing into something deeper and intense. As her self consciousness about over her appearance and cybernetic ebbed, Eisen found her attraction her taciturn partner was changing as well but she wasn't ready to acknowledge her feelings just yet.
After the pair narrowly escaped an ambush by the Russian hit-man Gregor Vosnekiev and his so called “Cossacks”, Eisen and Ghost went underground to regroup. Almost being killed brought their feelings to a head, driving home the tenuous nature of their lives and how they had to seize the day because they never knew if it might be their last. And that night, the couple consummated their long simmering passion, forging a stronger bond between them but not one without complications of its own.

That is definitely one of their inspirations. A little Challengers of the Unknown in there as well. They're supposed to be heroes who exist between  the Golden & Silver ages of heroes

Here's what will be the cover art for this (whenever I get off my butt and write it)

Here is the Japanese villain, Ultra Spectre X. Think a villainous Ultraman type.

Major Miracle is a Golden Age Italian hero. His inspiration was Red Rube, a Captain Marvel knock-off from the 40's, Threw in a little of Cap himself as well

I haven't posted anything in awhile, since I quit Photobucket over their recent move to screwing over users.

Anyway, here's some new pieces from Juan Paolo. First up is Strigoi, the leader of a group called Tyranny, Inc. The image is based on a head bust done by another artist named James Sheilds:

Renaissance Smug arrogant super scientist who decided, in his magnanimous wisdom to bestow his gifts on the world of lesser beings.  A misguided hero/potential villain

These are all characters who are going to be in supplements I'm writing for a different system. I might do Champions versions eventually for release (I had talked to Jason at GenCon after the private Strike Force session I played in from that KS, and he was open for setting me up with a license for HERO), but for now, I'm doing them for other game systems. I just like sharing the art on different forums, as it sometimes drums up more work for the artists who do commissions for me

I found a group of villains on the public domain wiki called the Black Ace Gang. They fought Captain Marvel Jr. Non-powered, kind of cheesy but violent bank robbers. As a fan of the Royal Flush Gang, I saw potential in the concept. So, thanks to the magic of Joe Singleton, here is a modern update of this group. From left to right is Black Ace, Queen of Hearts, Jack of Diamonds and the King of Clubs

A long time ago, I was a player in a Champions campaign run by my friend Curt Fernlund. He was an artist, and drew all our characters and the villains we faced. Once he was done with villains, he would pass them onto me. I saved them, and with his permission, have been adapting/updating them. This is Luna, an organization we faced. They were led by Khonshu, the Egyptian god. I took him out, and removed some members. In their place, I added 3 Lunar/Moon gods. From left to right is Men (Lunar god of Anatolia), Artume (Etruscan night goddess, similar to Artemis), Vampyre (a clone of my hero Necromancer), Night Stalker (originally called Moon Knight), Cricket & Crater (who will likely be changed to Eclipse or something else), the 4 super agents of the group, Kaskuh (Moon God of the Hittites) and the standard Luna agent. I'll probably be adding more to the organization when I can afford to send more work Joe's way.

As seen by stuff I've posted here, I like translating public domain characters. I found a group of villains who had fought Captain Marvel Jr. in the Golden Age called the Black Ace Gang. They were nowhere near as interesting as The Royal Flush Gang, but card based characters can be interesting. After some back and forth with Joe Singleton, we came up with a modern version of the concept. The original group was non-powered, but 2 members of this version do have actual powers
