Moorcock has some stories in which Chaos is clearly evil and Order is clearly good. But there are examples of malign powers of Order as well, things so powerful they just don't consider individual humans that important. Notably Corum and Elric are champions of Balance; Corum comes from a society of Order that fell into weakness and acts as a bulwark against Chaos, Elric comes from a society of Chaos but rebels against it and the cruel embrace of power and chaotic demons. In general, Order is "good" but you don't want too much of it, Chaos can mean "evil" but is also the font of creativity, magic, and organic life, and it was from Chaos that something came out of nothing.

Apollo and Artemis were the Greek gods of disease. A god of disease would be a punisher of impiety, whether disrespect to the gods or against nature. Overweening pride, wastefulness, sloth, insults, breaches of customs and hospitality, and other obnoxious behavior would be sins.

The Greek god of wealth was Plutus, who represented wealth as plenty. The cornucopia was a symbol. This god would smile on commerce, agricultural planning, generosity, and thrift. The Romans honored Mercury, who was a patron of wealth, thieves, trickery, sciences, and all sorts of cunning, intelligence, and gain.

Hey, all y'all Champions players! I've got three new mini-supplements available at the Hero Games Online Store. Each of them expands on CHAMPIONS POWERS to offer an new category of powers. They are:   Aquatic Powers, which features nearly four dozen powers for characters who live in or often work underwater. Whether your character is a native of Atlantis, a water manipulator, or has powers derived from a marine animal, Aquatic Powers has just the powers you need to create him!   Hard Energy Powers let a character create energy constructs with sufficient solidity and stability to function like physical objects. Since the character can create a practically infinite variety of hard energy items based on his imagination and the perceived needs of the moment, he has far more power at his fingertips than the owner of any merely physical arsenal. Get plenty of ideas of powers such characters have in Hard Energy Powers!   Super-Magic Powers presents powers for use in creating super-mage characters who don’t use the Super-Thaumaturgy spells found in The HERO System Grimoire. Instead, these characters have powers that follow a distinct magical tradition — such as Alchemy, Black Magic, or Witchcraft — or which hide behind a veneer of Stage Magic. Super-Magic Powers provides dozens of example powers to help you build these characters.   Please check 'em out and pick yourself up a copy!

If those three aren't enough, please take a look at my PDFs of Control Powers and Insect Powers, which are still available -- and be on the lookout for more PDFs containing even more additions to Champions Powers!

The points I would make are
Haymaker is allowed with all sorts of attacks There is a good rationale for most uses The name is not inappropriate
In general, I would say that it should be allowed unless it produces a nonsensical result. Characters can't "see" the game mechanics being used, so as long as it has a slow windup, imposes some penalties, and deals extra DC, it shouldn't be a problem if Haymakers themselves are allowed. Just because you can doesn't mean you should, but conversely, just because something is unusual doesn't mean it should be disallowed. I mean, I have seen plenty of "person to frog" spells in movies that really do look like Haymakers, and further, this gets around reasonable DC caps that may be in place while still allowing characters to output stronger Attack powers as called for.

As is typically the case, I don't have much idea what you are meaning to do.  I can only read what you said.  You said your big issue was that allowing this kind of all-out attack with a bow is not realistic and you would not allow it.  That left open the questions of whether you acknowledged that:

     - this is a deliberate choice to depart from the rules as written, not an "interpretation of the rules" call;
     - your "realism" is cinematic; and
     - your "realism" even accords with reality (I didn't address that one as I am not an archery expert, although it seems reasonable that over-extending the bow to get more power would have negative consequences like reduced accuracy and/or limiting reaction speed so losing some DCV).  You also said "I only allow haymaker for melee weapons or fists", and I noted that I do not see how we assess real-world realism of projecting flame, sucking out a target's soul or overriding their neurons with a potent burst of pure mental energy.

TL;DR - you seem to have difficulty differentiating between objective realism (e.g. "violence causes long-lasting effects, a reality not consistent with repeatedly being knocked out by blunt force trauma causing no long-lasting in-game effects) and your own subjective interpretation of realism ("there is no possible valid in-game special effect for an all-out attack with a ranged weapon enhancing damage at the cost of evading counterattacks").

Oh, just to spare another poster on the thread some time, I know you told me so...in fact, I thought of that very exchange as I typed my initial comments further up.

I was alive for the entirety of the Nixon Administration. But Richard Nixon accomplished some important things while in office:
    - He got the US out of Vietnam
    - He opened diplomatic and economic relations with China
    - He initiated the Defense spending buildup (taken up to eleven under the Reagan administration) that eventually drove the USSR to insolvency

So yeah, Nixon was dirty and fully deserved to be removed from office. But he also got some important things done while he was there.

I can't really say the same about 45.

Furthermore, Nixon acknowledged that his continued presence in the White House was ultimately detrimental to the nation, and he had the self-awareness to resign the Presidency in the interest of the common good.

In this respect, I would say that Richard Nixon was a much better President than Donald Trump.

    (YMMV, of course.)

Well... From a certain point of view, it could be argued that the riot wasn't a serious attempt to overthrow the government. More of a LARP that got way out of hand. I mean, for all the huffing and puffing beforehand about "war!" and "burning the city to ash!" they didn't bring serious weapons. Where were the AR-15s? Revolutionaries who were really bent on revolution could have shot their way in a lot more quickly, I would think, and perhaps slaughtered numerous members of Congress. I can only be thankful that the organizers and participants were so lost in fantasy that they didn't know how the pros do political violence.

Let us hope that all the judges take it seriously, though, since there's a historical record of half-assed nutbars getting more effective with practice.

No, there's a goodly number of DC homages: the Star*Guard (Green Lantern Corps), Meteor Man (Golden Age Green Lantern), Nighthawk (Batman at least in style), Kinetik (Flash), Scarlet Archer (Green Arrow), Black Harlequin (Joker/Toyman), the Witness (Phantom Stranger), the Brain Trust (Brotherhood of Evil), Queen Mara of Atlantis (Wonder Woman), the Drifter (Specter), Pantera/Lynx (Cheetah), Franklin Stone (robber-baron Lex Luthor), the Kingdom of the Apes (Gorilla City), the Justice Squadron (Justice League), Mordace (Sinestro), Megaera (Captain/Mary Marvel)... I could go on, but I think I made my point.

IMO the biggest reason there isn't a clear active Superman analogue in the present-day CU, is the same reason the office of Archmage remains officially unfilled (other than in Champions Online). Too many ultra-powerful NPCs steal the limelight from the PCs.

For the most part I see no reason not to use all the maneuvers.   About the only one I can see not allowing would be suppression fire.  Since normally there are no autofire weapons in a fantasy setting it makes it hard to perform this maneuver.  The magic rules we normally use do require attacks spells be cast each time they are used so hosing down an area with an autofire spell is not possible.

The rules are pretty clear that you can perform a haymaker with any attack.  I see no reason to change this.  Penalizing a player for choosing a different combat style does not really seem fair.  I would encourage the players to reflavor haymaker and other maneuvers.  An archer might say they are taking careful aim.  A wizard might say they are spending extra time to gather their power.  As long as the character is taking the extra time and the penalty to DCV they are good.

Even if we accept the artist's stated intent as genuine, it's irrelevant. The end result is what matters. This is an icon of Donald Trump, many of whose supporters believe him to be a divinely-appointed savior, at an event where he was publicly worshiped.

This isn’t just a problem for you, all gaming is faced with the question “Do I want to do everything kind of well, or one thing very well?”
The way I try to deal with it is to follow the special effect of the character and powers to give me as many limitations as reasonable.  Batman’s belt is OIF, Hawkeye’s quiver only has so many charges, Green Lantern’s ring didn’t work against yellow until he bought off the limitation. Now it does.
Batman is an example of doing a lot of things at once, none of them perfect until he had the points. The Thing however was a top round Brick from the start and only got better with age.
Look carefully into your character and the questions will answer themselves.  Good luck & Have fun!

"Thor" might have some Strength with Increased Endurance. So he "can" do really strong stuff but he usually doesn't. That is how balance is enforced. In fact maybe he has Thor Strength as a Multiform, with some that is Increased Endurance for when he demonstrates his theoretical strength, and Costs No Endurance for thumping away at low threat opponents all day (which makes him "stronger" without needing big numbers). Maybe he also has a High Impact slot for knocking people around which looks impressive but again, does not require huge numbers. I think this is pretty close to what you see in TV shows. They might lift an oil tanker or something, but a lot of the time they are punching basically normal people or people in tactical armor, and those people aren't turning into paste. So for 5 points you could have +10 Strength that costs 4 endurance, and then you could use Pushing on top of that, and you are dealing +3d6 damage and multiplying your normal lift capacity by x8. I guess in this concept, Thor probably has a lot of Endurance, that might be one of his most important stats.

The pistol overall has 3 Charges. Each slot has three or less charges. If you insist on them being predefined but changeable, this would be a VPP rather than a multipower. I personally would handwave it and just do a multipower with each slot having three or less charges, and 3 Charges on the framework.
