Though you do have to appreciate the naming of those particles, having the acronym WIMPs. I'm reminded of Grant Ward: "It means someone really wanted our initials to spell out "S.H.I.E.L.D."."

Played in the Battle of Detroit. We beat Destroyer's low-level minions pretty handily, had a harder time with his lieutenants but we won in the end, though Detroit still ended up getting a few billion dollars' worth of urban renewal. I played Solitaire - no surprise that I got KO'd, as everybody knows that you "first kill the mentalist." Some great roleplay from most of the other players. The bits with characters snarking at each other gave it a good feel like an stablished superteam, even though I don't believe any of the players had played with each other previously. A few of them hadn't played Champions in decades (I'm not sure, one may not have played Champions at all before), but gmGM did a great job explaining how things worked in Hero and I think it went pretty smoothly. All in all, I believe a good time was had by all. Having grown up in the suburbs of Detroit, though, I was a little disappointed that Destroyer didn't get mugged as soon as he crossed the city limit.

I would like to volunteer as a judge. Or to clean any Jell-O residue from the contestants. Just trying to be helpful, y'know. "Fine then. RELEASE THE CRACK-HEADS!" (Never really knew what a Kraken was, and my hearing's not as good as it used to be.)

One that I always remember was a Don Martin cartoon with a guy dancing and "Singing in the Rain"... while on the rooftop above him they're holding a spitting contest. (quick search) Here it is!

Heh. When I was a kid, our mom made us watch this movie, mainly because it had been filmed at (IIRC) her uncle's house, and he had a cameo as one of the sheriff's deputies at the end. It was actually a bit surreal watching it with her, mainly because she would inject nonsequitors into the movie. (Please forgive any mis-remembrances about the movie - it's been over 40 years since I saw it.) For instance, as a woman is trying to escape from the zombies at the graveyard and (IIRC) was driving over a small bridge, mom started commenting how her and her siblings would play on that bridge, tossing stones into the stream, etc. At another point, someone is looking at a mirror, and you *know* a zombie is going to pop up behind her, and mom starts talking about how she loved that mirror, it was in the entry hall, blah blah blah. Kinda takes all the suspense out of the movie, y'know?

Orange, Red, Eggplant purple, Green, Olive green, and Navy blue. Hopefully the reason for this color combination is obvious.

According to BallotPedia, an Independent (former Rep Jason Green) was chairperson of the campaign to pass the ballot initiative for ranked-choice voting, and Bruce Botelho (D), former mayor of Juneau, and Bonnie Jack (R) were co-chairs (I'm guessing at a different time than Green was chairperson). Looking at the list of supporters of Alaskans for Better Elections, it looks like it had bipartisan support, including from the Libertarians. Whereas it looks like Republicans dominated the efforts to oppose the ballot measure.
