In my opinion Christensen was done dirty by Lucas.  Even Portman and MacGregor did poorly in that trilogy; Christensen didn't stand a chance.  I mean look at the script he was given.  "I hate sand."  DiCaprio couldn't have pulled that off.

But why is Rittenhouse even offered an appearance like this? He was a dumb punk kid who basically got away with shooting three people because he was a dumb punk kid. Then certain media and politicians built him up because they thought they could use him to advance their own agendas. Since then AFAICT he's done nothing but cash in on his notoriety. He's changed nothing, advocated for no cause, contributed no new thought.

What the left should be doing, I think, is to hold some sort of counter-assembly--bring in speakers people want to hear, with items people want to have.  (I'm thinking ice cream.  Who doesn't love ice cream?)

All True Bazza, but in doing almost all of those, his EGO got in the way of common sense. Putting an unknown AI from off world into Ultron, an ultimate weapon. Not listening to Steve's argument and assuming he could control any government interference in the Avengers, then, again, not really investigating Winter Soldier's attack, but following "orders" and attacking Steve and the others. Not following up on what was going on with SHIELD and Project Insight, but instead effectively handing the 3 most technological weapons to a Bureaucracy run organization, despite his earlier run-ins with them, including butting heads with the leader of SHIELD over their secret weapon projects.
So, again, I wasn't saying Tony's reasons for doing things weren't, in some ways, altruistic, but that his own arrogance made him think that it was better for everyone and that he could keep control of it.

If there is one bit of news in the Gaza situation that gives me hope it won't spiral into maximum possible bad, it's what the BBC reporter in Israel (I think it was Tim Franks) said yesterday: In his interviews, Mr Franks finds that many Israelis do not hold all Palestinians, or even all Gazans, complicit in the attack by Hamas. They do not want to see collective punishment.
 
Some commentary I have seen seems to forget that neither Israelis nor Palestinians are hive minds, and I try to resist slipping into this myself.

One part that sttood out to me, though, is the co-dependency between Netanyhu and Hamas. For years, Netanyahu and his far-right affiliates have resisted a two-state solution with the Palestinians because they want all the territory of ancient Israel, but without the Palestinians who inconveniently live there. Or at least not granting them citizenship, which would mean the end of Israel as a Jewish state. So every attack from Hamas or similar groups is *very convenient* at forestalling any chance of peace. But conversely -- as Beau points out -- every military crackdown from Israel in response to those attacks is *very convenient* for Hamas, in generating another wave of recruits.
 
Beau's reminder that Hamas' leaders are certainly *not* in Gaza also makes me realize that I was thinking too small in speculating that Hamas could have made a fatal miscalculation -- that Israel might attempt a, shall we say, "final solution" to the problem of Gaza. Hamas' leaders and backers may well think that sacrificing Gaza would be a good strategic move to re-isolate Israel. Maybe I wasn't paranoid enough.
 
Or, you know, they really are just lashing out in blind rage and despair. Sometimes that happens, too.

It may have been a bit more accurate, but I could have seen MoM appearing in Dr. Strange comics and QM showing up as an Ant-Man storyline. The challenge for movies is that we don't get three years of monthly comics - we get one movie.  So the movie wants the biggest story, with guest stars and impact on the broader universe.  And you can't leave out supporting cast favourites - no big deal if they miss one week on TV or one issue of the comic, but they're gone for 5 years or more if thy miss one movie.

Discovery: Pissing off people who don't think Star Trek should "go woke", thus showing they didn't pay attention to the original series.

I just noticed that that trailer has Superman drawn in his classic costume: red trunks, gold belt, gold S-shield on the back of his cape. I've seen that in recent animated movies, and as an old-time comics fan I'm delighted to see DC starting to accept that his suit doesn't need "modernizing." A classic is classic for a reason.

Daveed Diggs is Jewish.  His mom is Jewish and by tradition it passes in matrilineal fashion.

Wow, this reviewer really doesn't get it.
 
He shows his ignorance of comics right away right away by calling Black Adam and Hawkman  obscure characters and then his bias by saying that DC shouldn't try because Marvel has already done that better with GotG. Says that they wasted The Rock when The Rock campaigned for this role for years so he could play this character. Then pushes his ongoing premise that edginess in superhero movies is dead and out of place because, Moribus, a truly obscure Marvel movie character wasn't good despite having Leto as lead.
 
I guess writing quality is down across all industries related to comics.

To add to my previous thoughts on the matter: Chris Jericho shouldn't be going over any young stars in 2022, he was great in his prime sure but now he ought to be building up new stars for the good of the promotion and wrestling in general.  Furthermore JAS ought to be disbanded on the grounds that the young stars aren't really getting much out of it aside from Sammy Guevara.  They're not getting much attention from being Jericho's goons, there's no rub for them by being part of the group and I feel they'd be much better off on their own.

Particularly ridiculous due to the fact that Kingston is one of the most popular guys AEW currently has, the fans adore him.  He ought to be getting pushed to the moon, not jobbed to the likes of Jericho.  My thoughts are not only does Kingston need a decisive victory over Jericho but the JAS needs to disband as well, as Jericho's really holding them back at this point.  

Rather hope they stop dialing back the silliness of the character's myself.  I mean nobody's calling for a return to Adam West super camp, though I did love the Adam West Batman, but there's surely a happy medium between that and Frank Miller grim dark.  Some of those silly elements are things I want after all, like Penguins trick umbrellas.  I'm not even asking for the really silly ones just the gun disguised as an umbrella, or the umbrella that sprays knock out gas, stuff like that.

I personally would've preferred if Batman had deduced Riddler's plan and thwarted it but aside from that I enjoyed the movie way more then I thought I would.  The action sequences were top notch, all the actors did excellent work with their roles and I particularly enjoyed Colin Farrel as the Penguin.  It wasn't a perfect movie sure, it dragged by the end after all and Riddler barely resembled the character from the comics but none of that was a deal breaker.  I do wish they'd ease up on the dark and dreariness for the next movie though.

He is in fact a member of Minoru Suzuki's Suzuki-gun stable, last time I checked.  Suzuki-gun vs Blackpool Combat Club would make me very happy.  

The Court Jester. It's been a few years since I've seen it. Still amazing.
