  1. My schedule is pretty flexible at the moment. I'm sending direct messages to get this coordinated.
  2. Looking for a weekly or bi-weekly gaming group. I'm willing to GM DnD, Hero or Fate but I'll play anything. Hit me up if you want to get something started or have a place at a table. I started gaming back in the day and would love to get back to the occasional pizza fueled weekend sessions.
  3. Hello, we have just started a western campaign and finished the second session. Any campaign or setting suggestions would be welcomed. Here is the current game blog from one a character's perspective. ****Warning: there is some strong language**** http://billy-sunday.dreamwidth.org/
  4. Hello, just started an alternate reality western hero campaign, and trying to evoke the feeling of the wild west. I have prices for food and guns, but was wondering if anyone had any resources on what cattle sold for, how much land cost in a post rush economy, cost of various household items or tools... If you have any ideas what the pricing would be, I would be very appreciative. thank you
  5. This is a copy of a post I placed under Other Genres, and I am copying it here with some editing for clarity, as it was suggested the forum would have more relevance or input. I am running an urban fantasy game in a Dark City meets Dresden Files type setting. I want to keep a dark, slightly twisted feel and am having a hard time fashioning the magic framework. It has been a LONG time since I have played and need to get a feel for the system back so here are a few points I am fishing for feedback on. What point scale should I use for the characters? I was thinking 25+25points to give them one or two supernatural spells/abilities, but also to keep those things from winning every battle for them. One of the players wants a bard type who shapes his magic with his music (violin and pocket harmonica). Can someone suggest how I might construct a spell for him that would cause people to not to notice him? Another player wants mental abilities, specifically a mind control that she is not aware of but tends to make people not see her. To keep the Bard and Mentalist from steppping on each other I was thinking the bards spell would disguise him and make lower observers perception rolls, while the mentalist's ability would be some sort of 'Don't Notice Me' mind control command. A slight twist on the mentelest is she doesn't know she has her abilities. She wants to make suggestions that people follow, or really wish someone would do something and they just do. For her telekenesis, she reaches for something without looking and it flies to her hand and she thinks it was always just right there. Would this mean she has No Concious Control on her abilities? Even if you guys can only point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thank you very much.
  6. Re: A Cross Genre Mystery Oh! I know.... the one of the characters stumbles across a report about the weight change. Then one of them hears about PI calculating differently a few thousand digits in, were all previous calculations in error? The electromagnetic force, gravity, C, all these things drift slowly, but with increasing speed from what they were. This could be worked in as background material during an existing adventure as hooks for what is to come. For the actual lead in, mechanical things start breaking or falling apart, perhaps something important to the team. A powerful wizard, being in another time/world/dimension has worked magic of such magnitude as to change the nature of reality. He is trying to restore a dead child back to life, and will not stop (or whatever other motive). 1. Clues lead character to a mystical consultant. Consultant sends them on a quest to the portal that will take them to the other world. 2. Others are trying to get there first. 3. Folklore sends the characters to the right region. 4. Do they look for the wizards life source and find a way to defeat him? Do they try to convince him to stop or do they find a way to reunite the wizard with his lost one?
  7. Hello! I am running an urban fantasy game in a Dark City meets Dresden Files type setting. I want to keep a dark, slightly twisted feel to the game and am having a hard time fashioning the magic framework. It has been a LONG time since I have played and need to get a feel for the system back. 1. What point scale should I use for the characters? I was thinking 50pts to give them one or two supernatural spells/abilities, but also to keep those things from winning every battle for them. 2. One of the players wants a bard type who shapes his magic with his music (violin and pocket harmonica). Can someone suggest how I might construct a spell for him that would cause people to not to notice him? 3. Another player wants mental abilities, specifically a mind control that she is not aware of but tends to make people not see her. Now I want to keep the players from stepping on eachother, and think I can do that by having #2 be some sort of cosmetic change only shape shift linked to a perception modifier, and the second person actually has the mind control with no concious control and only to make people not notice her (she would still be seen by recordings or someone who knew to look for her). Even if you guys can only point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thank you very much.
