  1. Re: Where does this lim/disad go? That would be two linked 6d6 EBs rather than one 12d6 EB if you use linked by my interpretation of the rules. Although I'm thinking the method for the second lim on the top end "only usable if transformed via X" while more expensive than the Aid version, might more fairly represent the points used, but it also feels like a stacked OIHID.
  2. Re: I'm building a playable 350 wizard with no VPP
  3. Re: Where does this lim/disad go? I'll fool around with some of the other ideas, too. Right now I'm looking at 50 points giving over 150 points in powers. While it's easy to load up the initial AID power (self only, focus, non-cumulative, etc, etc) it feels like more oomf than what I'm fairly paying for. As for the extreme active points cost... just getting it to affect everything is +2, the time extension isn't cheap, either when you're looking at an hour+.
  4. Re: I'm building a playable 350 wizard with no VPP You have to work in the cost that the Reduced End would have on the slots, too, otherwise the wand isn't doing anything Buying the adv on the framework doesn't give you the adv for free on the slots, the slots still cost more. Just like if you put a lim on the framework, the slots would cost less. No adv: 60 (60) MP 6u 12d6 EB 6u 30/30 FF with adv: 90 (60)pt MP - 0 End 9u 12d6 EB - 0 End 9u 30/30 FF - 0 End So the wand would be 30+3+3=36 Active. OAF 18 points.
  5. Re: Acro is bored Glad ya like it. Originally I was giving him hat head but then decided everyone would just think I drew it really weird (even if there was a discarded top hat). lol
  6. Re: Where does this lim/disad go? My only concern with the Aid structure is that you can get an awful lot of bang for those bucks (even with the huge adv to affect everything). Would you guys be put off by something like that? What I worked out was about 200 active, 50 real points adding 15 points to lots of stuff.
  7. Re: Acro is bored Tormenture Tried to emphasize his "tall and thin" aspect and give him a bit of a wiry tough, old but not too aged look.
  8. Re: Thinking of making Astro-Knight, but what Job skills would he have? Here's Canada's (I assume America's is similar - all I could find was a BS in Engineering with 3 years of work experience for USA in my half-hearted search) General Selection Requirements In order to meet the demands of the job, all prospective astronauts must demonstrate that they can meet the following general selection criteria: Canadian citizenship Level II SECRET security clearance Excellent communication skills (preferably in both French and English) Effective interpersonal skills High moral standards Personal integrity In addition to meeting the general selection requirements, applicants must also meet a number of medical and educational qualifications. Education and Experience Requirements Because astronauts are required to perform a broad range of scientific and technical work, prospective candidates must hold at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in one of the following areas: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil (Structures) or Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Mathematics or Computer Science Medicine or Physiology Psychology or Sociology Candidates with a Bachelor's degree must have at least three years of relevant post-graduate experience, either working towards a higher degree (i.e. a Master's degree or a doctorate), or in industry. Medical applicants, meanwhile, must have appropriate practical experience in clinics and/or hospitals. In all cases, a candidate's experience should reflect a progression of skill, knowledge, and leadership achievement. Medical Requirements To withstand the physical demands of training and spaceflight, candidates are expected to demonstrate a high level of fitness and a clean bill of health. To be selected, applicants must meet the medical requirements for International Space Station (ISS) crew members, which are based on the NASA Class II medical standards. Following selection, CSA astronauts must continue to pass yearly medical examinations in order to maintain flight status. The numerous criteria for ISS medical selection are reviewed continually as further understanding of the human body and its adaptations to the space environment is acquired. Following is a sample of some of the current standards for non-pilot astronauts: Height between 148.6 cm and 193.04 cm (58.5 in. and 76.0 in.) Visual acuity: 20/200 or better uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 in each eye (at this time, candidates who have undergone corrective vision surgery/laser eye surgery will be disqualified) Blood pressure: maximum of 140/90 mmHg, measured in a seated position Hearing loss not to exceed: Frequency (Hertz) 500 1000 2000 4000 Overall Loss Not to Exceed (decibels): 30 25 25 50 Loss in the Better Ear Not to Exceed: (decibels) 30 30 30 55 Loss in the Worst Ear Not to Exceed: (decibels) 35 50 50 75 In addition to demonstrating a high level of fitness and clean bill of health, prospective astronauts must also meet strict psychological criteria.

  10. Re: Where does this lim/disad go? Here's another example of the idea: Dr. Jack has serum residue in his system that allows him to change into Mr Strong. Mr Strong is +20 STR OIHID. If Dr. Jack drinks more serum to turn into Mr. Strong, Mr. Strong has +30 STR OIHID. He doesn't need to keep the serum with him after the transformation (it's not a focus in that regard), it's just that the method of transforming offers better results. Same power, same hero ID and everything, just better results. I don't think the lim adder of "only to activate" works in this respect in that, say, he's not constantly using and spending End on the extra power (for example, if it was a Force Field, the FF isn't on all the time, it's just a better FF when he turns it on).

  12. Re: A cure for Drogen Lar. Deironing Ironclad, your opinions welcome Giving it more thought, I don't see Ironclad being against the research, per se. Even if he doesn't want it now, he might expect to retire some day and try to lead a normal life. Knowing it can be done might be a great thing. One day, he might want to take that magic pill. It does open up other interesting plots. For example, a villain learns of it and tries to steal the research or manages to use it against him. Does Ironclad then work to be returned to his metal state to do good? Does he end up with two formulae to allow him to change back and forth? Does his system develop an immunity to it after a few applications meaning he eventually gets stuck in one form or another? Does his desire to do good weigh heavily against any sort of desire to be normal?
  13. Concept: OIHID Hero uses a device to "focus" his transformation. He can still enter his HID without the device, but when he does so, he is less powerful. "Less powerful" can be something along the lines of his Endurance Reserve is only half full, or maybe his attacks are a couple DCs less or something. He doesn't need to maintain possession of the focusing device after the transformation to stay in the "more potent" form (so focusing a portion of the powers isn't suitable). I have a personal preference for not paying points for things like changing into a HID, but the real issue is simulating the impact of the method of transformation on the end result. I have a couple ideas here, but would like to pick the collective minds... How would you simulate this sort of thing?
  14. Re: What would Dr. Destroyer *really* do? It does after a sort, yeah. But, hey, the world has set this example. Utopia through destruction.
  15. Re: What would Dr. Destroyer *really* do? He might clue in on the idea that "hey, if I destroy a city, they make a big new much more advanced city in its place. I should destroy more cities. Then, after I make the rounds, I'll go back and destroy the first one again and see how much better it'll be..."
  16. Re: Gods and Champions I was speaking "off the top of my head." I wasn't going to go dig out a Bible and start looking them up. We've used the Bible as a great source of material for horror campaigns. There's lots of "supernatural" beasties and such, too, which can just as easily be adapted for superhero campaigns. Though I generally frown on seeing a character like "Hi, I'm Moses" and he starts throwing plagues around and stuff. But things like a dude who has the ring of Solomon, or a descendent of the witch of Endor (?? no, not an ewok), stuff like that... good stuff, imo.

    Good bye

Re: Good bye See... people forget what really matters. It's peanut butter jelly time! And use of the ignore list is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
  18. Re: A cure for Drogen Lar. Deironing Ironclad, your opinions welcome I think he would be opposed to it.
  19. Re: Gods and Champions Ah. A chick with wings and a dude based on Samson.
  20. Re: Gods and Champions The link doesn't seem to list any powers for the Rapture. I can't connect the names to the powers off the top of my head but they had: Sligshot guy (super pellets. Might have charged them up like X-Gambit). 4 armed beast guy (strong, agile, etc) Earth Manipulator Darkness Manipulator (possibly "abyss" powers) I forget the other two. All my books are in storage or I'd offer more. They all had the "supernature" package, of course. Immortal. Regeneration (sometimes slow). Ectoplasmic costumes. "Spooky" distinctive features. I bet Proditor can fill in the gaps.
  21. Re: Madstone He did it just to spite me.
  22. Re: Suggestions for Experience:Pinnacle Movement and Endurance management are sorely needed, imo. An inch or two movement per level of growth and some reduced end on the Str will go a long way.
  23. Re: Acro is bored I just happened to look between those posts. hehe I already have the pose worked out, I'm just not sure what angle I want to do.
  24. Re: Acro is bored A kick in the pants! Haven't you been paying attention to what this thread is about? Look at the start of the thread . Ten people on when I posted......
  25. Re: Acro is bored It sure stands out when you scroll, doesn't it? I like it. Now some joker is going to screw it up giving me positive or something. lol Anyway, time to celebrate. And mutual pity for being home on a Friday night (but I'll be out tomorrow. huzzah). Next poster wins.
